About to order mine now. Very helpful video, question, where did you get your steering wheel buttons from? I'm looking for replacements.

I went to Advanced Auto and purchased a roll of textured carbon fiber sticker material. I traced the steering wheel buttons and used a heatgun to form the carbon fiber material to achieve the look you see in the video.

VI Tinker: Thanks for your video. This is a big help! Can you tell us a couple of other details? Did you start with an Armada that did NOT have GPS and was the more basic model? (I am assume that you did). Were you able to find a wiring harness to add your stereo/nav head unit to your Armada to simplify things or was it all custom wired? That sure would simplify things. My situation is pretty complicated but I am determined to find a solution: I have a 2004 Armada LE with factory navigation and Bose system. They actually stopped offering GPS updates for this years ago! My goal is to remove the 6-disk changer, add a new double din bezel, keep the original upper monitor (so than I can see my temperature and computer control settings) and then hide their original control panel in the glove box for the rare occasion that I might actually need it. I love my Armada and it virtually looks & drives like it did the day I brought it home in 2004. I just need a modern upgrade to this awful stereo/nav setup. Any thoughts you can share? Thanks again for your great video!

This was a bare bones Nissan Armada SE. You can find a wiring harness kit, but there are some things that have to be "wired in" outside of the kit, especially if you want to retain steering wheel controls.

Hey man I was thinking about going with an aftermarket but the factory Bose sounds amazing I didn't want to lose any power to the speakers, would you say your aftermarket sounds equal, or better or not as good to the factory???

My aftermarket radio sounds much better than that factory radio. I also changed out the factory speakers because they were blown.

I'd start with the basics. Were you getting sound before the swap, double check the wiring paying extra attention to the speaker wires and lastly, does your vehicle have a factory amplifier? If the vehicle has a factory amp, it must be powered or no sound will come from speakers.

Is that tape over your connections? Straight trash man, use some heat shrink. That tape is going to lose it's adhesive and fall off, causing all sorts of problems bro.
