Thank you for sharing the valuable information regarding changing the CVT oil. I understand that you mentioned replacing the CVT oil only in the case of the "gair," which implies that the oil in the turbine (converter torque) is not replaced. Consequently, when new oil is added, the old oil in the turbine gets mixed with the new oil, thereby diminishing the overall quality of the transmission oil.
@hudini2356
3 ай бұрын
Actually it increases the quality of the remaining CVT fluid. Yes the NEW oil is mixed with old but this is not a concern. If you pay the extra $$$ for a complete flush then you risk spreading previously settled contaminates. This is what is bad. If you are really concerned then after 500 miles change the fluid again. Your percentage of NEW fluid will go up further.

Can you let us know how much transmisión did you put it? Thanks
So I only got about 3qt out without dropping the pan or changing the oil cooler filter. Is that normal?
Nice clean video finally just how I changed my small filter, very hard though small wrench needed. But why wasn't internal filter changed? Appreciate no talking just clear video
Is the calibration and the car not working or vice versa?
I normally change my oil and filters and spark plugs in my own cars but I've never done it in a CVT transmission I have the same car is this something that anybody can do
Hi. Thanks for the great video! Do you know by any chance how the transmission sensor works? I was told it's a heat sensor but I am not sure. My car stopped working while driving on the road. The gas pedal wasn't responding to my inputs. The engine was fine and no warning lights. Tried to engage D, R and L modes nothing worked which I was told a good thing. Later on got warning CVT/AT transmission Service now with engine light on. I took it to the dealership and apparently my transmission was out of fluid. They couldn't tell me if transmission got damaged but they put some fluid in it and it was driving fine. Do you know if the transmission was designed the way to make sure to prevent the damage? That's why I asked about sensor. Thank you in advance.
Can you put a link to where I can buy the filter and fluid by any chance

The 2021 Nissan Altima doesn’t have a transmission dipstick to measure fluid levels or if needs new fluid?

No dipstick sir. To check the level remove the level plug under,when the fluid drips slowly install the plug and tight...
Damn it went in blue and already came back out the excess drain dirty 😫 How many miles were on this do you recall?

How much cvt fluid goes back in ????
Where is that location of the overflow bolt in the video starting around kzread.info/dash/bejne/aoxqx5SwfbTWpNY.html @ 9:16? And also about how long to leave the car running for it to reach 45 celcuis without a way to measure the temperature? Also is this the same for a 2019 Nissan Altima?

The dealer way is correct You have to take in consideration that you have a lot not measured inside the torque converter.
@Bforbendejo
5 ай бұрын
@adams6798 no way is that correct . Once low always low . I guarantee this is why nissan has a problem with these cvt's burning up. That check plug method is the only 100% way to know. Unless there was a "dealer only tool" dipstick with the specified level in the service manual. But dealer said measure what came out and put that same amount back in. That is not correct homie.
@hudini2356
3 ай бұрын
@@Bforbendejo It is a good method on a trans that is not leaking.
@Bforbendejo
3 ай бұрын
@hudini2356 hell naw that's shoddy at best. Once low always low.dealers don't care u run ur shit low and prematurely wear out ur transmission. That's just lazy. And with fluid absorbed into cartridge filter and the little bit lost and the little bit that gets on gloves removing drain plug and filter cover.. just nope. Either dip stick sight window or check bolt r the only Tru ways to check fluid level correctly. Nissan altimas have a problem with low oil capacity and scorching the Trans fluid and the cvt slipping and the scorched fluid plugs up some valve inside the Trans. And 80% of the cvt failure is probably never changing or not changing fluid enough. The spill and fill method just adds to it by running them low on fluid
@Bforbendejo
3 ай бұрын
@adams6798 wrong cuz u start car run it threw the gear and pushes most of that oil out. When u fill it u fill till full then start car run it threw gears and it sucks it up . Then u let it get to temp . Then pump in fluid to check bolt then boom 💥 only proper way to service and fill a sealed transmission

For the cvt filter housing, I believe there are 4 screws. I only see him remove 3. How did he reach the 4th? My dealership tried to change the filter for me after I explicitly asked them to, and they said the bolt would back out into another component so they couldn’t remove it without dropping the cvt down

Maybe it has to do with the bolt he put back on after the cvt filter is bolted back on u see he puts back a nut across it that looks like it’s holding a bracket.

I just hope this wasn’t done in the dealership, because the pan wasn’t removed for metal shavings and strainer to replace. All that dirt is mixed now with that expensive CVT fluid🥴
Top left bolt removal? A 10 mm stubby ratchet wrench! Taking the plastic under shield off and back on was more of a pain!
You never showed us how to remove the last cartridge filter housing bolt ( the upper left side bolt from your camera angle ) i did service my car altima 2021 and it was a pain to remove and also a big pain to screw the bolt in again. And also i couldn't remove and install the cartridge housing alone without the filter, you can't also install the housing alone, you should do the cartridge filter and housing together... Tell me if you could do that
@kccodex8931
10 сағат бұрын
On my 2015 Altima I was able to install the filter and housing in two steps, on my 2022 Altima I have to install the filter, and housing together, but it's not difficult, and I got it together properly, you just look inside, and get the filter on the "stud", and then when you push the housing in place you will feel the filter being seated, the dimensions are such, that the housing keeps the filter in place. The top left, hidden bolt is a pain in the ass, but doable with a small box wrench. The CVT went out on my 2015 at 90k, under warranty, after the fix, I changed the fluid every 40k, the paper filter at 175k, and drove the car without any problems until it was stolen at 277k. Great engine, 2.5 didn't burn or leak a drop of oil. I used Valvoline Synthetic CVT Fluid exclusively.
Stupid question my friend. Is it posible to replace the filter without draining the oil out??
Watched it a couple of times, and I kept missing him getting that top left bolt loose? Does anyone else see it??

Why didn't you measure the amount of fluid that came out vs the amount you put in? Over or Under filling could result in serious damage!!
@kccodex8931
Ай бұрын
He demonstrated the proper way to fill it. The second drain plug is there to use as a "Sight Plug", you remove the plug, when it drips slowly from the hole, you have the correct amount of fluid in the transmission. Your method is pointless, what good does it do to measure the amount that comes out when draining it? At best, you'll be lucky. If only a pint came out, would you refill it with a pint?😂
