350z needs driver mod. That’s why I love my Miata man, 100hp on a well balanced chassis really teaches you a lot about driving. It’s easy to shoot for the fastest ride there is but that does not mean you will be the faster driver.

It all comes down to technique and clearly the miata driver had better technique than the 350z driver. Even a underpowered roadster can beat a 350z with better driving skills which is why the miata was on his ass 24/7

Miata = slow car, fast driver. 350z = fast car, slow driver. He would show him tail lights the entire way around a track.

Micah Myricks I have some rough ideas for alignment according to some of my track friends. But I'll dial it in when I actually get to drive my car again. However being in the military and being stationed away at a temp duty station, I save a lot of money and get to browse through car parts when I'm free. The way the z's come from the factory understeer like a bitch. The staggered setup for tires and sizes also mess it up, last time I was home I mounted some 18x10.5 works and some sticky ass rubber all the way around. Handling felt more neutral after I did that due to having a squared setup. The nismo Stune suspension feels a little too rough sometimes and sometimes not stiff enough in the corners. I'm looking into getting some KW variant 3's soon.

It's more about the Z being too heavy for such tight corners, no way it can keep up with a Miata there.

It looked like the 350z driver should've been setting himself up for better corner exits considering how long the straightaways were. But he looked like he was fazed after almost losing control in the beginning. Regardless both look like they are great drivers. The irony of this is that im just a complete begginer lol

The Z driver didint heel toe or at least rev match while the miata driver did Doesn't mean the Z dude can't drive. Not an easy technic to learn doing effectively and consistently

Z driver was so ass. Crossing the double yellow any chance he had and almost stuffing it on the first turn downhill. Not being biased either, I own an HR and an NA. Dangerous, don’t drive at 100% of your limit in the canyons. Save pushing the car 100% for the track.

Manejar en una sola línea puede ser incluso más peligroso que usar las dos. Aunque claro, de día es más difícil porque de noche se pueden ver las luces de los autos que vienen. Además, es legal en carreteras de montaña usar todo el ancho de la carretera si toda la curva es visible y se ve que no viene ningún auto

I was originally a NA driver. It was my first time taking the Z up there since I recently picked it up less than a year ago. Im currently stationed away from my car, so I have a bunch of parts waiting for me at home. The 350z has a very bad tendency to understeer and have lots of body roll even with the Nismo S-tune suspension in stock format. Alignment will also need to be tweaked as the car doesn't handle the way id like it to. Also the Miata will always beat a heavy ass car like the z in the touge. Not making any really excuses but that was my first time up there with the z. I hope to have it dialed in soon and take it auto crossing when I get back.

I got rid of my NB2 couple for a CRV because of convenience and Nursing School. Once I finish up, I’ll get another weekend NB2. This way I can increase the displacement and slap some itb’s on it.

Takahashi Keisuke Mmhhh I don’t agree simply because it has some weight which doesn’t allow it to attack corners without some annoying understeer. Cars like S2000, RX-7 (am I really saying this car to freakin Keisuke?!) NSX, WRX STi, Evo and so on can handle much better on difficult corners

The issue is his driving was unsettling the car needlessly. He had little throttle control and didn't rev match. He could have gone much faster if the car wasn't so unsettled all the time. When you down shift and let the car deal with the 3k rpm difference right as you enter a turn you're going to have a bad time. It's fine that he's still learning. The problem starts when he pushes himself to keep up with a better driver without knowing why the other driver is faster. (he looked fine while in front, just slow)

@@solaireofludomedia1323 Yeah watch where he nearly spins out on the first turn of his ride-along. he has the clutch pushed in as he enters the turn then let's out on it quickly in the middle of it without blipping the throttle at all. Nearly made him wreck.

350z is equivalent to mustang muscle car, it's not build for tight cornering!!! Too heavy amd tail happy, you all complaining never drove fast in canyon!!! One wrong move or tail comes out and you are dead!!! Both driver did a good job, they are there to have fun, not to kill themself!!! Brz or mrs or even civic si would be better choice to racing with miata!!! Miata nc all day!!! I love my miata.....;p

AutobahnWars that is a lot of work and money and time to get a miata to that point, plus you need suspension, better stopping and even body bracing to use 250-300 hp in a miata the body was never ment to push that much hp or girp at that hp.

In the uphill, you could have overtaken him on the inside. Touge battle consists of two drivers and two rounds ( uphill and down ). A battle like "Cat and Mouse ". Upon an uphill battle the Lead Driver must widen the gap between the follower in order to win the round, optional to close inside opening with a drift. The follower can win buy closing the gap or overtaken the lead driver. Vice-Versa for downhill battle. The word, "Touge" isn't technique or move, it's a word in Japanese phrasing, "mountain pass". Touge battles is an indication of two drivers racing on the mountain pass, battling for 1st place, upon both rounds.

Z needs better tires, stock tire sizes are trash on these cars plus they heavy af. Still love that VQ trumpet though lmao
