I work in Aberdeen all the time and I constantly have a connection to his songs. It like I feel his spirit in song when I work out in that area. It's very relatable. I'm an ex drug addict and I totally understand how he felt. Totally separated from normal life. Sad. I'm glad to be alive and to be able to enjoy his music. I'm so happy to be able to fish and enjoy the nature of grays harbor. But I understand how he felt.

Shortly after (wanna say less than 1-2 weeks) I believe is when a worker at his estate stumbled on him in the greenhouse@@jmazoso i recommend Montage of Heck to everyone who loved this man at least as much I do. No one beats Courtney Love's..love tho....its gruesome what seeing him did to her and how she describes what she went thru/did upon seeing the body. All the conspiracy bs about her pisses me off, they were in love, his mental illness did what it does going untreated. All the money/fame in the world doesn't mean shit without proper mental health. Can't wait to lose our educaton department soon and even more abortion bans. Kurt was outspoken af about all that too ironically. gay rights,, women's rights, even trans acceptance...such a king

If I remember this story correctly right after the performance he was riding an elevator with a record company suit and based on the crowd reaction was unsure of what they thought. She told him something like "they think you're Jesus Christ." After a little bit he smiled and nudged her and said "I was pretty fucking good tonight, wasn't I?" I liked that little anecdote. Also apparently MTV wanted them to do an encore and Kurt knew there was no way in hell he could top the Lead Belly cover and refused.

I read somewhere Kurt was disappointed at the end or during this performance because of the crowds reaction and he had to be told that they were literally awe struck and couldn't fathom what they had just witnessed and how people viewed him as this mythic figure even during his lifetime so they didn't know how to react while seeing him in person playing, especially up close like the audience in this performance was, and kurt replied "I was pretty good wasn't I?" One of the few times he actually acknowledged his talent from what I've read.

His lack of ego is why I respect him so much, he hardly ever acknowledged himself as a good player and never bragged about his fame or talent. Poor dude just wanted to make the music he wanted, the fame was never his goal at all. His lack of ego was also kind of his downfall though, as he eventually grew to see himself as nothing and took his own life because of it... *supposedly*. Imagine his reaction to finding out the guitar he played is now worth 6 million dollars, 12 times what leadbelly’s guitar was worth. Cobain was a legend and I’m gutted I can never meet him.

Hes more like Creedence Clearwater, Screaming Jay Hawkings, James Brown, or some other older blues type, more than metal. I think the youth of wrestling helped w his core, and the sedatives kinda helped him get into the scratchy voice breaking sound more easily.

the intensity of the music...so what is he saying when he covers this song? You know he "did it" because people were idolizing him but had no clue what he was about...He hated fake fans, each one giving a different view of what they thought. When none of them had anything close to what he meant. It shouldn't be like looking at Van Gough flowers and say he must have been having a nice day that day or how the flower represents hope and the desire to better ones self. But that would be to ignore Van Gough life and the true expressions he portrays. AKA fake fans, I don't entirely meant o suggest you don't know this stuff. But I see things like this and think these people have no idea what they are listening to and interpreting it so far from what its meaning is it's like hes killing himself all over again

However, as mentioned in the video itself, Kurt was inspired by the Leadbelly cover recorded in 1944. Hope this clears things up.
