I swear, the amount of people claiming to be at Nirvana shows is getting to the level of the 25 million people that swear they were at Woodstock. Every live video of Nirvana on YT, especially shows from 89-91 before they exploded, has multiple " I was there" comments. If you added up all those comments from the numerous videos it would easily surpass not only the recorded attendance but the venue's capacity.

I saw Nirvana live in concert in 1993. Stage diving was the normal thing to do. We all knew nobody would hurt the band. In fact it was encouraged and expected by the band. You should have seen how they destroyed all their instruments at the end of the show. Kurt would dive head first into the drum set . Great times!

Bands were cool with it back in the day as long as you didn't knock over their gear or mess with the band. Nowdays security has gotten so strict they won't allow anybody near the stage. They set the crowd barrier so far back you have to pole vault if you wanna even think of reaching the stage. Many shows back in the 90's and before never even had a crowd barrier.

I disagree I actually think 1992 was their worst year as far as live shows. 1991 Kurt was still not totally worn down yet but he was having a rough time in 92' coping with a bunch of different things. 93 and 94 he was a bit more rested and fresh. Watch some of his 94 shows in Europe they are actually incredible. He seemed sort of out of it physically but his voice sounded great and the band was extremely tight right up until the end

Yes, that was a fan who almost certainly helped by other moshers into the 'no fan land' and then either avoided lazy security or evaded slow security. And of course, the only way to 'safely' escape detection was to immediately stage dive into a hopefully vigilant mosh pit, where you're caught by strangers and sent on your way. On this occasion, Garfunkel Hair wouldn't have had many places to hide.
