निर्भय निर्गुण गुण रे गाऊँगा मूल-कमल दृढ़-आसन बाँधू जी उल्‍टी पवन चढ़ाऊँगा, चढ़ाऊँगा.. निर्भय निर्गुण .... मन-ममता को थिर कर लाऊँ जी पांचों तत्त्व मिलाऊँगा जी, मिलाऊँगा निर्भय निर्गुण .... मनुष्य की आध्यात्मिक यात्रा का उद्देश्य दरअसल अपने अस्तित्व के कारण को तलाशना रहा है। इस तलाश का स्वाभाविक अंत तभी हो सकता है जब मनुष्य निडर हो अपने कर्मों और उसके फल के प्रति। यानि दूसरे शब्दों में कहें तो निडरता पहली सीढ़ी है उस सत्य तक पहुँचने की। जैसा कि विदित है कि कबीर धर्म के बाहरी आडंबरों के घोर विरोधी थे और निर्गुण ईश्वर के उपासक। कबीर इसी निडरता के साथ उस निराकार ईश्वर की आराधना कर रहे हैं। कबीर फिर कहते हैं कि इस यात्रा की शुरुआत से पहले अपनी उर्जा को एक सशक्त आधार देना होगा फैले कमल रूपी आसन में। जिस तरह कमल कीचड़ के ऊपर फलता फूलता है उसी तरह हमें अपने अंदर की ॠणात्मकता और भय को त्याग कर उसे सृजनशीलता में बदलना होगा। मूलाधार से अपनी उर्जा को ऊपर की ओर ले जाने का यही मार्ग दिखाया है कबीर ने। पर ये इतना आसान नहीं है। इस राह में बाधाएँ भी हैं। आख़िर इस उर्जा को बढ़ने से रोकता कौन है? इन्हें रोकती हैं हमारी इच्छाएँ और लगाव। एक बार इन बंधनों से मुक्त होकर अगर अपने को प्रकृति के पंचतत्त्वों में विलीन कर लूँ तो मुझे अपने होने का मूल कारण सहज ही दिख जाएगा। इंगला-पिंगला सुखमन नाड़ी जी त्रिवेणी पर हाँ नहाऊँगा, नहाऊँगा निर्भय निर्गुण .... पाँच-पचीसों पकड़ मँगाऊँ जी एक ही डोर लगाऊँगा, लगाऊँगा निर्भय निर्गुण .... इंगला नाड़ी वह नाड़ी है जो नाक की बाँयी तरफ से आरम्भ होकर आज्ञा चक्र होते हुये मूलाधार तक जाती है। पिंगला दाँयी तरफ होती है और इंगला की पूरक मानी जाती है। इंगला और पिंगला के मिलन के मध्य स्थल से सुषुम्ना नाड़ी निकलती है। अपने अंदर के सत्य तक पहुँचने के लिए मैं इन्हीं नाड़ियों को वश में करूँगा । मुझे विश्वास है कि नाड़ियों की इस त्रिवेणी के सहारे शरीर में बहती उर्जा को नियंत्रित कर जो उसमें डुबकी लगा लेगा वो समय और काल के बंधनों से मुक्त हो उस सत्य को पहचान लेगा। एक बार पंच तत्व और जीवन को अनुभव करने वाले पच्चीस तरीके नियंत्रण में आ गए तो उन्हें मैं अपनी अंतरआत्मा से एक ही डोर में जोड़ लूँगा। शून्‍य-शिखर पर अनहद बाजे जी राग छत्‍तीस सुनाऊँगा, सुनाऊँगा निर्भय निर्गुण .... कहत कबीरा सुनो भई साधो जी जीत निशान घुराऊँगा, घुराऊँगा.. निर्भय निर्गुण .... बस फिर तो वो शिखर आ ही जाएगा जहाँ से बाद में भी कुछ नहीं है और जिसके अंदर भी कुछ नहीं है। ये बिंदु है शून्यता का जहाँ मेरे में कोई "मैं" नहीं है। यहाँ आवाज़ें तो गूँजती है पर अंदर से! इन्हीं ध्वनियोंं से जो छत्तीस राग फूटेंगे उन्हें सुन कर मैं आनंद विभोर हो उठूँगा । ये क्षण स्वयम् पर जीत का होगा।

@Muhammad Khan the female singer is Vasundhara Komakali wife of Kumarji. She was also Padmashree.

I had tape recorder player. Every morning I used to play Kumar Gandharvji nirguni bhajan, in india. My children were very young. They did not understand, but the Kumarji's gayaki had so deep impressions into their mind. Even after 30 yrs they play these bhajans. They still don't understand the meaning. They grew up in US.

To whomever listening this masterpiece, your taste in music is amazing

Vasundhara komakali is also acompanying in singing - why isn't she included in the credit for vocals?

What sort of fools dislike this divine rendition ? Its pitiful to see people with no understanding of what they are hearing come and feel important by disliking. Kumar ji is a whole Universe of music and his Nirguni bhajans are the pinnacle of his trademark style.🙏

Listening to this bhajan, I feel Kabirji, Panditji, and Vasundharaji have introduced us to the path to attain inner peace..."Shunya shikhar par, anhad bajeji..." - how can anyone conceive of such beautiful thoughts...leaves one speechless...

Kumarji's trump card. The high pitch, ease with which he has sung in tar saptak, aghat, lightning taans and the expression befitting extatic state of Sant Kabir as he reached a state of enlightenment is so aptly presented by Kumarji, the one and only one.

I was fortunate to have attended & heard his concert in Delhi during seveties and this Kabir's composition NIRBHAYA NIRGUN was sung in that concert and even today that beautiful rendition rings in my heart. It is eternally stored. The composition is rich - both in its spiritual value as also the way it was composed rendered by Kumar Gandharvji

nirbhay hokar nirgun ke gaan....iss bhajan ko sunkar kabir sant ke manostithi ko jaana hun. aisa lagta hai hum manushyon mey bhi wah kshamataa hai..aur kabir ke iss bataye hue vidhi ko agar theek prakaar se prayaas karen toh..sach mey mumkin hain.. ..par uss stithi ko barkaraar rakhnaa bhi ek badi chunauti hai..aasha kartaa hun ki adhik se adhik log iss vidhi ko jaaney aur prayaas karey ..aur wah stithi praapt ho.. aur iss chakravyuh se mukti miley...
