Nir seems like as good a teacher as a player. I have a friend who plays with him so I've been listening for over ten years. He's deep but he does a banging job of demystifying the elements into plain talk and good common music sense. It's great to hear a conversation finally. For teachers like me this is gold.

At this point I don't even come to this show for the playing anymore, especially ever since I saw the episode with Wayne Krantz which went into so much more than just the playing itself. It's the knowledge behind it that sparks my interest even more. This season of Guitar Power has been so good so far.

Fusion guys like guitar wizard Wayne Krantz, Pat Metheny, Shawn Lane, Allan Holdsworth, Frank Gambale are the kings of that 'Unpredictable Licks, Phrases'... Those creative players are the masters of improvisation.

This is my interpretation of what he is saying. Music is a path built out of notes, silence, timing that allows the person's mind to travel on for the their experience. His method allows the parts of the person's mind that doesn't necessary have a voice to be able to participate at the subconscious level or intuitive creation of the path. He sounds like clearing the way for this process by not structuring it out with over learned structures. Will listen to more of his music and talks.
