The Nipun Bharat app, is playing a crucial role in addressing the assessment needs of students and teachers in multi-lingual environments, particularly in low-income schools.
NIPUN Lakshya App has been created by the Department of Basic Education (Government of Uttar Pradesh) under NIPUN Bharat. The app is to used for spot assessment of students during collaborative observation by mentors regarding competencies of classes 1 to 3. These competencies focus specifically on basic education, including a student's ability to read with minimal reading speed (correct words per minute), comprehension, and the ability to solve math questions.
By harnessing the power of the National Hub for Language Technology (NHLT), an AI-driven Translation Platform developed by Digital India's Bhashini Division, the app provides assessments in multiple languages, ensuring that all students have equal access to quality education and assessment opportunities.
Following the successful proof of initiative with #Bhashini, the ongoing pilot will be expanded across to other states in India.
