Nipper's journey began with the restoration of a Scania 143 truck......
I get asked all the time, "Nipper, how did you get into restoring trucks?" This video introduction explains it all. As this was 10 years ago, I have had to use photos to showcase the work, and some are not the best quality. I hope you enjoy seeing how I restored my 3 series SCANIA - hit the like button and comment!
Thanks for watching, Nipper :)

The 143 was the best Scania ever produced. Ultra reliable and without all the electronic crap.
Ran with those lads 5:41 regularly to Germany. Lot to the ford factory at Zaarlouis
that V8 sound is amazing
Nothing better than that sound.

Love this. I bought a 143 out of dundee 4 years ago and 2 of they years its been in Ireland getting restored parts and labour are definitely the biggest thing especially when everything has to be fabricated as you say. But im proud to own one and much prouder of what the men restoring it have done for me looking forward to getting it back.
Good to see the auld lorries comeback to life , I’m feeling auld now reminiscing back to when I started driving an Atkinson Borderer at 21 in 1980 , used to meet the Strathclyde transport guys changing over with their 111s and 141s , ( big Truckers 😁 ) you think back as if it was the good old days , not remembering the solid seat base , wooden doors where the rain came in through the top , air windscreen wipers , and a radio you couldn’t hear for the engine noise, Makes me appreciate the 450 Scanny I drive now . Looking forward to watching more of your content , yourself and with Tim . John
Blinding 👌
Brilliantly it together and a great insight for everyone, Peter Roffs we’re A beautiful sight to see on the motorway or autobahn’s of Germany, you could never catch them though! 🤣🤣👍👏👏👏👏

Well done Nipper. Must say you’ve done a remarkable job with this. Welcome to the world of KZread. Must say you and Tim make a good team in his videos.

Hi Nipper, I used to work for John Osborn in Leighton Buzzard, we use to service Peter Roff,s trucks, a lot of Volvos at the time, his yard was on the Standbrige rd. Now a housing estate. They were the smartest trucks in the area. Love the vlogs
Great video nipper

Nipper The 143 Resto Man
As an ex Peter Roff driver and having spoken to you after this restoration it’s great to see this video. You started the right way! toughest jobs first and everything else is easy. In my totally biased opinion the livery is still iconic and driving them was a complete pleasure.

love your work nipper id love to have been your apprentice when i was doing my time keep it up your a legend
Being a HGV apprentice in the 80s, I can appreciate the work you do. For me, The 143 was the best Scania ever made. In 1998 l went to Holland, to live, and to work for Beers Scania, a Dealership of 19 dealer that Scania had brought back from Beers. I had the pleasure of testing the first of the 470 HPI. Because Holland is flat, we drove to the east of Germany to test them. I really like you attention to detail, and your knowledge. Thanks for posting.

Awesome
I remember a black 143 with Evil Edna in red painted on the back. It had twin chrome stacks. Eminox I think?? It was bobtail on the M6 south past Lancaster. This was about 1996-7. Anyone know anything about this unit? Your motor sounds good. Not silky like the new super. Raw and unrefined. I like it. Manual box too. 😀

Looking at those early photos all i was thinking was what top gears Quentin wilson used to say "WALK AWAY" far play to you for getting it done ,. I had an F88 for 25 years on the road 1976 to 2000 and repainted it and sand blasted it repaneled it about 5 times over those years untill i parked it in 2000, it stood for 5 years and detereated to the point of no return because i wasn't prepared to throw any more money at it, .I gave it to a local guy who had some old classics and this was around 2005, and he ended up weighing it in,. They weren't worth big money then, parked outside did for it, dry storage would have preserved it but i didn't have anywere to keep it , i guess we can't save them all,.It gets me when people say it needs saving when they see an old truck, well put your money where your mouth is and try it, throwing thousands of pounds at it and trying to source parts, spending endless hours working or it or give it to a restorer and have a humungous bill at the end of it,. Theres no easy answer and hats off to all of you that have done it,.
