    I totally agree with you. NIO should sale cars in southeast Asia because they are very friendly to China, specially Thailand. I will buy NIO car in Thailand.

    @@mingzmings88Singapore has extremely high tariffs policies for foreign cars, it’s 2-3 times higher than the value of the cars

    NIO has a good strategy and that is to go where they are wanted expand and grow. When they are successful in these other countries it will open doors in countries that have not welcomed them.

    Hi Eric, I think NIO should plan to enter some Asian states without a swap station network but use traditional charging points or home chargers. few swap stations just to change battery capacity.

    So Thailand is a right-hand drive market so I would expect to see Nio in Hong Kong/Macao then Singapore first before other right-hand drive markets like Britain/Australia/New Zealand. For Thailand definitely Nio House, but not sure a swap station is necessary initially,

    Sounds like a plan, cheaper cars and try to be near the food court. Swapping batteries would be popular, because there's a lot of apartments there, and not having to pay for the battery, will be cheaper up front, but I think NIO should make BAAS a rent own scheme would be awesome 😊 A lot of auto companies setting up RHD factories in Thailand.

    Did you see any MG on the road? Thought Chinese company bought the brand and they even make MG EV in Thailand. CNBC a few days ago reported that NIO will sell lower price models in 2024.

    Imagine being able to own shares in a company like Sinopec as they were building our gas stations. Owning a company which provides charging services would be the modern equivalent of that. Here, NIO offers not just regular charging services but also swapping as 2 different types of energy replishment to its users. On the SEAsia strategy, it's a price sensitive region. ALPS/Onvo should be the leading brand that joins the scene, especially in Thailand. The adoption of Chinese EVs is unrivalled compared to other countries like Malaysia and Singapore.

    BYD has a dining section in its Singapore's showroom. Could be a reason for people to stick around and hang around more in the showroom, could be a strategy used by ALPS/Onvo as well

    i hope nio will be smart enough to provide Onvo test drives at nio houses in china and not make it exclusively only at dealers. They don't need to have it on display but just offer the test drive at these convenient locations.

    You would be surprised. Thai people love fancy, expensive cars. However, battery swapping will not be advantageous in Thailand. Too much traffic.

    Upper class Thaï people love well known luxury brands , BMW, Mercedes, etc ..Going to be tough for NIO.

    Well, from my Chinese perspective our cars is better not going to US, everyone knows those reasons,I’m not trying saying something negative or mean, it's totally fine, it’s not bad for not go to the US market imo .

    I think competition is good, but I am not sold on NIO battery swap, the NIO lounges, or the little toy robot head on the dash. Battery leasing or subscription fees just sound like money pits. NIO should focus on simplification of products and production. Maybe if they make solar on vehicles truly work for most consumers, they would see a major demand spike due to offering a vehicle that can add 30% recharge on average just via onboard solar. Those battery swap stations are not cheap and will require much higher maintenance versus charging stations like Tesla builds. Whatever NIO does, hopefully it works out. The world needs many EV builders.

    A smart company always wants to get out in the competition. Innovating and thinking a unique product and strategy will give you more success. Think Amazon no one believed first about online marketing but in long run people and countries are changing, if you provide more that will help the economy and the people they will succeed , you need to research more how about charging how the charging can handle the grid load to provide energy especially if everyone is charging their EV..more people charging the longer you charge , the more charging station grid cannot handle the grid…storing energy like swapping station is a unique idea that an ev company will get out in the competition. That why America wants to limit Nio exposure in the news as much as possible . Tesla sale maybe go down because people may wait to have that Nio ideas..you don’t need to worried about your ev battery breakdown .

    People can charge at home and when on the road only if your share one charging station, will it slow. The report I saw on NIO swap stations in Northern Europe was $600,000 per station, which is far more than the cost of placing a dozen charging stalls. Those charging stalls can easily fit in a wide range of places. They also require far less post installation labor and care. The complexity, cost, and never ending subscription fees just make swap stations seem less logical. I guess when 2030 rolls around, we will see how well things worked. As far as America limiting NIO exposure, that is total bullsh*t. No one is working to suppress NIO news coverage. EVs in general have some members of the media trying to suppress any EV company, but NIO is not so special that they are targeted, at least not because of the battery swap. @@Kuyajacob188

    If Nio are not going to build battery swap in ANY country what is the point in selling cars in that country? The USP of Nio and sub brands is battery swap. We have already seen other Chinese OEM do deals with Nio so they obviously believe in battery swap as well.

    ​@@Eric_GarrisonYou did, they are not going to want to build a power swap network without a lot of users. As I said battery swap is the USP for Nio and sub brands they need to do both. Most wealthy people in Thailand live in a condo. They are not going to give everyone a charging port again that helps battery swap. Like I want Nio to get expanding in Asia as there is money out there. BYD are aiming for 300 dealerships in Thailand by the end of the year The reports that the first sub brands is coming in May(if true) would be amazing 🤞🏻 Enjoy your time in the land of smiles

    thanks, I am enjoying it. But that’s the opposite of what I said. I said they should launch subbrand first so they have reason to build a network. There wouldn’t be significant volume with just NIO first to build a network, and if there is only a couple of stations it would make zero sense because you’d be stuck in traffic for ages driving to a station to swap. If they can get volume with subbrand, make Thai consumers believe in the concept, then can bring main brand and utilize the same network.
