This is incredible, I've been waiting so long to see a Satellaview unboxing from you. Definitely worth the wait! Keep them coming Bob!
This is the longest I’ve waited for and seen a KZread video delayed But never the less thanks for the video.
I have never heard of this! Thanks for showing it off, Bob!
This add on was so freaking cool and ahead of it's time. It was pretty much the founding father of game streaming. I'm so jealous to all of the japanese gamers in the mid to late 90's that got to experience this wonderful world of BS Zelda, digital magazines, free game trials and all. It took a hell of a lot of trial and error to get this to work, you needed a satellite dish atop your house, (Which many people in Japan don't have since it's mostly apartments and dorms due to dense population) a kit from St. Giga to communicate with it, an SFC, the Satellaview, and the BS-X cartridge. But boy was it worth the money and trouble from what i've heard... If only I was rich, living in Japan in the 90's, and growing up on SNES
It's interesting to see an unboxing of something long gone. That piano music is form Super Mario Galaxy. Well done!
I need that for my collection!! Thanks for a new video, Bob!
this is honestly probably one of my most wanted retro collectible. these things fascinate me to no end
Really enjoying these unboxings. Thanks man
This is amazing! I've been waiting for you to unbox the Satellaview for a long time! Famicom Dojo unboxed this item as well, if I'm not mistaken. That said, the packing was a bit different. I loved the use of yellow in this box! The Satellaview is such an interesting product!!!

I love Famicom Dojo! Sean's unboxing video was one of several that I watched in order to do my homework before making this video. Thank you for watching!
Great video, Bob! I always look forward to seeing what you're going to share next. I especially like these types of videos since my collection doesn't feature many items that are CIB. So seeing all the paperwork and manuals is always cool.
i think the satellaview is the ancestor of modern subcription gaming games like xbox games pass
This is a really nice video. I hope some day I can have a Satellaview too.

Got 3000$
Awesome really wanted to see a video about this system getting unboxed
WOW! How did you get that?! I know for a fact it's a rare system peripheral, how much did it cost to get it?

I bought it back around 2009. I don't remember exactly how much it was, but I think it was under $300.

Bro that's dirt cheap compare to how much it is now!!
That imterface cartridge looks almost like an inspiration for the N64 Controller Pak for saving game data, instead of the original purpose of saving a game.

@@yauy Great! In the meantime, I'm binge watching your old videos :)
Dang you KZread for no longer sending me updates for this channel.
13:00 この端子部分は、当時の放送で通信モデムを開発していたようです。しかし2000年にセント・ギガがサテラビュー関係の放送を停波したため、開発が中止したという話がありました。
I am just guessing, but I believe that ext port, if made, would have been for a built in memory device, possibly letting one save up to 5 games onto it, possibly allowing one to save from a pak, or a broadcast.

I think that's a pretty good guess.
One of my favourite logic games of all time comes from the Satellaview! Sutte Hakkun. People should check it out. Very neat video. I know more about the games than about the console itself.
That hole/port was for adding extra ram. The ram upgrade sold rather poorly so the ram carts cost just about as much as the Satellaview.
WOOOOW!
Going to Japan in a few weeks. I can't afford a Satellaview in the box but I'm hoping to find a decent looking used one :)
wow! a stellaview by itself is insanely rare, you musve paid a fortune to get this...
Satellaview and its BSX service is discontinued
I hope the American SNES got a satelaview
I was wondering, despite the Satellaview device service is no longer available, can you still play Super Mario World (Super Famicom version of course) with the satellaview adapter hooked up to the Super Famicom Console anyway ?

Yes, the Super Famicom will work normally when it's connected to the Satellaview.

@@yauy Thanks a lot dude :D
凄い
Why didn't they just interface the satellite connection into the Satellaview cartridge itself?
is this still working up to this day?
Please make a Remake with NES/Famicom, SNES/Super Famicom and N64 Unboxing because i love these Videos but Quality isn't good anymore for today.

It just so happens that 2022 will be the 10-year anniversary of the Nintendo Unboxed series. Remakes could be in the works... 😁

@@yauy Oh Thank you very much.😃
I wish they’d let the US have it
This thing seems extremely complicated and unwieldy, haha. I can imagine tech support people walking customers through those connection diagrams over and over again.
5:22 That looks like a doofy version of the MacOS logo
Do you own an n64 dd?

that's just useless hardware, only for collectors. The only interesting thing are the memory cards, some of them could contain unreleased stuff...
