Ive worked on a ton of switch boards after peoples prior attempts to fix. And those 2 resistors are almost always knocked off the board when people attempt to replace that IC without a scope. That and the small cap on the bottom of the left hand side of the IC

Been repairing electronics for years, these videos made me take the plunge into microsoldering. The initial investment for quality equipment is steep, but I've gathered so much wisdom from supplementing my hands on with these vids. I never realized how much I would enjoy board level repair. It's all I want to do now lol.

I can understand from your point but like i said if attempted repair was beyond the cost of the no fix no fee then it usually up to the customer if they want or not want it repaired half of the time customers want it fixed real cheap or free in some cases. Thanks for answering the question and keep up the great work :)

Nice video :) You're such a nice person. People in comments were able to spot it, as it is everything we can do. While you micro solder, debug, explain everything and record a video with multiple cameras. But more important: everyone has their own approach when solving a problem. Some overthink a problem, others look for easy reasons. As software engineer, i was told the lazy developer is better. Missing components happened in the past and seem like a stupid issue.. While swapping IC's and reflowing is more difficult than the basic capacitors and resistors. Try to be more lazy :)

Depending your charger, you may have 15V instead of 5, Nintendo Switch chargers provide both voltage, if regular charger is used only 5V is available but it works as well.

The motherboard you compared it was might have already had then two resistors already removed so when you compared them they looked the same , what you should do is when you remove components off donor boards you should mark them some how on the location you removed the components or with the likes of switches you could take a photo of both sides of a complete board that's had NO components removed from it and use that as a reference.

Ive worked with pcb diagnosis and repairing and yes it happens all the time that you know how a board looks and what components should be where for each revision and yet you sill get a pcb blindness sometimes and miss things like that. I currently have a switch i bought cheap just as a fun project that i cant get to work, it backlight, the digitiser works, the sounds works, it powers up and i can hear when i click buttons or the screen but still there is no image !!! I have had it opened for days now and do not know what the issue is with no picture but the rest of it works ! Though it does not have a picture in the dock either but it does charge in it and i can turn it on while in the dock with the joycons.. Anyone got a clue ?
