This is basically the only thing I care about. If it's not hall effect sticks (or whatever tech the steam deck sticks use), I'm not buying it. Nintendo should have learned their lesson by now.

forget about it. selling joycons is part of their business, if they fixed it completely, they would be loosing money as rarely anyone will buy additional joycons. Infact there are chances of Steam deck like handheld to include hall effect joysticks, cause the controllers are non-removable and steam doesn't even make much money selling the internal joysticks. but Nintento, where the controllers are removable and are a part of their product line ip will definitely not be doing that.

@@MarcSpctr They can still sell different colors and special edition joycons and make money that way, I know if I had the money to buy extra joycons I would totally go buy zelda themed ones just because they’re in that theme (if they offered them) That’s just an example; just because they fix them from breaking doesn’t mean they won’t make money from them anymore.

@@MarcSpctrDoesn’t really work like this. They offer repairs at no cost in some countries and other countries aren’t guaranteed to buy official Nintendo controllers. It’s not some conspiracy theory, it’s just cheaper for Nintendo not to use Hall effect controllers so they don’t. Same with the other console makers and people who make these types of devices. Most don’t have Hall effect controllers because it’s cheaper not to.

I think the Wii U failed because a lot of people thought it was an addition to the Wii. Like people genuinely thought they could just buy this tablet thingy and connect it to their existing Wii like you would another controller. Also I can definitely see the graphics getting a boost for the Switch 2, especially how Nintendo have expressed interest in bringing AAA games to the handheld.

Yeah, I literally thought that for 8 months after it had already released.

I 100% used my Wii U to play on the go a couple times, including playing Smash with my brother at the airport using the gamepad as the display. You needed to have the entire console set up, plugged into an outlet, with external controllers and stuff, but the game pad did work as a screen and we could play just fine.

About the airplane story: I watched a movie on there once. I was looking at a 7 inch screen 30 cm away and the contrast was the worst contrast I've ever seen in my entire life. Worse than my monitor, which has a contrast of only 380:1, which is much less than the 1000:1 they said it should be. Now I'd just put my phone in front of me eyes and enjoy the perfect contrast, minus any reflections ruining it.

4K output for the next Nintendo console is important because 4K displays have become pretty easily obtainable (meaning most people have them) and 1080p output on 4K displays looks muddy. I hope Nintendo utilizes upscaling technology at least. But a native 4K Nintendo dock that makes the Switch 2 perform like a modern console (like targeted 4K and 60fps) would be AMAZING. But heck I wouldnt care if they kept the 720p screen for battery life reasons.

1080 would be reasonable in my opinion or 1440p since most tvs have their own upscalers. I hope they at least include ray tracing

The ROG Ally has a hard time pushing 4K at low quality to a TV. I highly doubt there will be 4K anything about the successor Switch unless they have an upscale dock to output 4K.

It has to be locked at 60fps. But to be honest, now that the Mario movie is out, I have a feeling the graphics in that move will be the baseline for how they want Nintendo games to look in the future. And if Mario Kart will take the direction seen in the movie, that’ll be really cool.

I've been curious about where they would go from the Switch. A console that's a handheld could have put them in the corner. Looking forward to seeing what they came up with.

Hoping they do something with the more powerful dock rumors that were floating around at the Switch launch.

I hopes the new joy cons are bigger and have more comfortable grip cause I’m more use to will controller and nunchuck when playing Zelda skyward sword

I’ve been super lucky so far. Got the Switch and PS5 both at launch some how, and not long after launch was able to pick up the Switch OLED.

Rachet and Clank and Kena Bridge of Spirits are a couple game titles that have cartoon art styles with 4k resolution and realistic textures. I don't think it would be unrealistic to have Nintendo games meet those standards.

While I'd love higher resolutions, If it means the console is like $500-800(and therefore more comparable to the current gen PC handhelds) I think it's not really worth it. I'd rather have a small boost where every first party title run at 60fps 1080p at the current graphics level but the console is still $300/350, than trying to push more pixels but be in a position where games that "push" the console get sub-30fps sometimes, but at 4k and $600+

Hi. I normally only watch mkbhd but Im enjoying these clips. One question, am I insane or does the guy in the dark blue button up and gray tshirt underneath sound almost exactly like Marques? I struggle with the switch, I've had 2 Regular Switches, a Switch Lite, and Currently Use The OLED Switch, I love the idea of it but the performance is so bad it ruins the quality of the product overall, they should have made the Switch Oled more Powerful.

I play all 1st person games inverted on a controller because of Halo

It's a valid point. 4K is not a given and Nintendo never follow spec trends. So everyone who is saying that the new Nintendo Switch WILL have 4K output have no idea what they are talking about.

The rrason for 4k output even when games are not graphically instensive is scaling

IMO Performance > Resolution

If they release a new console it needs to be powerful enough for Activision and Epic Games with higher refresh rates and resolution. If not what’s the point the switch is possible best family gamer console ever so why not keep riding the wave.

It's funny how the guys just assume Nintendo games run at 30 fps just because the Switch isn't as powerful as your typical console. In reality, most Nintendo games run at 60fps. On top of that, Nintendo has probably the best track record in the entire industry - among publishers - of hitting a LOCKED 60fps, with perfect frame pacing. That should excite people when talking about Switch 2, because it'll give Nintendo a TON more horsepower to play with. I expect Nintendo to publish A LOT more 60 fps games on Switch 2.

Cartoony games would greatly benefit from 4k and higher resolutions, but the art style and how fun the games are would be of more interest to people than resolutions tho. More people would notice a higher framerate than resolution as well….unless the resolution is ultra blurry, which switch games can get sometimes.

I be out and about a lot and I have literally never seen a Nintendo switch in the wild. Not at a MC Donalds. A bus stop. A train station. A library. A bored kid at the bank. Nothing. Yes, Nintendo games don't need to be 64K and run at 82746391847393 FPS because the point of videogames is not the specs, but the fun they deliver to you. (This actually applies to all games regardless of the console.) So yes, a powerful console is better! But I feel like when people boil it down to "Max resolution and FPS" you're doing it wrong. But focusing on meaningful things like Ray Tracing and how it can improve your experience and SSDs and how can they improve your games, that is the way to go. :)

you can emuulate switch games on pc and upscale them to 4k, "astral chain" looks amazing in 4k and the games run better than natively on the switch.
