@@developement They did it with 3ds and DS They did it with the DS and GBA They did it with Wii U and Wii They did it with Wii and Gamecube They did it with GBA and GBC/GB Pretty much every console had it unless it was a big generation shift like the Switch and the WII U (which had all the big titles ported anyways) or the Gamecube and N64.

This about to be Nintendo’s best console. Almost Series S raw power before DLSS is crazy. Opens for the door for all the current gen games for sure.

I would totally be down for the switch 2handheld performance being above PS4. I mainly play the switch portably so the idea of the switch 2 handheld performance being above a PS4 gets me very excited. Just imagine what Monolith Soft could do with that thing. The third party support is going to be extremely exciting for me, give me all the JRPGs

Backwards compatibility is good for Switch 2 sales. I believe every Switch user has a decent backlog, so everyone gonna buy a better version of Switch if transferring your backlog is available.

As someone who loves physical media and has a rather low data cap due to where I live you can imagine my sigh of relief that Nintendo is gonna keep going with physical media even with the Switch 2. Like seriously...my ISP has NOTHING out my way yet for higher speed and higher cap stuff and the ONLY reason I have internet at all is because I had DSL back when that was the new thing and got grandfathered in when they stopped offering that as a service. Since I already had the service they have to keep it active for me until they actually can upgrade me to Fiber or something like that. Physical media for gaming is how I can even PLAY some games on my PS4 (still haven't got a PS5 yet, saving money for it now), the size of the games is often a good third to half my data cap some times...150gb cap before extra fees and AAA games START at 40-50gb before day one patches...

And Cable internet is prohibitively expensive for me due to the limit of how far they will run the line and the fact I'd need to pay out of pocket $2000+ to get a new pole in my yard they can run it to...so cable is out, sat is dodgey imo since I prefer a physical line for the sake of the amount of trees and storms that can ruin a connection that isn't physical, and my ISP has been slow to get stuff for my area...the area AROUND where I live, has fiber but the more rural less high traffic area where I live ain't a priority of getting the faster stuff out my way.

there is no way imma download a game that is large as 80gb.. i wouldnt have room on my SD card. i prefer the bulk of my games on a cart.

@@badboy-gn8fu I got two external HDD for my PS4 at 2TB each...both are almost completely full...so yeah when I finally get a PS5 memory upgrade is gonna be a thing that needs to happen quick, fast, and in a hurry so I can play DB Sparking Zero and other games and have room.

Everytime I hear about the microphone and camera thing, I was thinking: how cool would it be if they made it so you could stream and record your gameplay straight from the switch and directly upload it or stream to KZread or twitch I think that would be huge for so many people who've always wanted to try it out and can or already established content creators

My question for you OJ. What is the switch 2 retail price in retail stores going to be? A more powerful gaming console means a more expensive gaming console. Sounds expensive to me. But I am not worried about it. I'm looking forward to the switch 2 console.

I live not that far from Nintendo of America HQ and their Warehouse and have been looking at their jobs and they definitely are staffing up recently.

it doesnt make sense to not stick with the handheld/console formula. changing back to a dedicated console would also mean Nintendo would have to make a dedicated handheld which would cost more to invest and dividing resources which isnt smart imo.

Whatever Nintendo’s next first party game is I hope it’s good quality because lately it hasn’t been too much :/ I’m talking about endless ocean and princess peach.

Please have a name that doesnt confuse the average consumer like Wii U did. Switch 2 is a good enough distinction as is, but we all know it probably wont be called that.

Mornings question do you think gta 2 will make it on switch 2? Ill considering I think I mite like the switch 2 as this gen 9 ps5 n xbox series x gen been dead boring all about speed and graphics and playing old games from ps4 and xbox one on our newer expensive consoles which is mad! Nintendo always seem to get the balance right. I’m also curious whether everyone’s switch 1 eshop games will be transferable to switch 2?

This is going to be an extremely power efficient and highly performant machine. The only thing holding the Switch 2 back will be CPU which will be less performant than Steam Decks cpu. With Nintendos software OS overhead being extremely light and beefy GPU with DLSS and fast ram and I/O, should be able to narrow the gap some. It will still struggle to run more CPU intensive open world games like GTA V, Starfield and Alan Wake 2 but I believe they can use the DLSS to get it to run good enough to play it comfortably which will be much better than what a PS4 and Xbox Series S can do today. As a PC and 3070 owner, DLSS is a game changer and will definitely benefit the Switch 2 tremendously in visuals and performance of games that specifically are built from the ground up using the NVIDIA tech in the Switch 2. People are going to be wowed when they see games running on Switch 2 looking better than native games running on Series S and PS4 Pro

DLSS won't make cpu intensive games run better, if anything it will run worse.🤦‍♂️ Games running at a higher resolution take stress off the CPU (native 1440p and up) and allocate it to the GPU. DLSS drops the resolution meaning the CPU will still be using the same amount of resources with DLSS on

@@kiba488 it’s a custom solution so I’m sure NVIDIA and Nintendo designed as such where that bottle neck wont be an issue vs a common CPU/GPU pc configuration. From a general CPU standpoint, raw performance of the cpu being ARM will still be weaker than any CPU in an APU form factor compared to its X86 competitors from AMD and Intel. I’m pretty positive though that the NVIDIA GPU will perform better at similar resolutions than my ROG Ally’s RDNA3 based GPU in the Z1 Extreme and Definitely better than the GPU in the Steam Deck RDNA2 based GPU. NVIDIA just has better performance overall when it comes to their software and hw stack. That is one of the main reasons why I switched from a 5700XT to a 3070 in 2021. The features that NVIDIA has along with their drivers just allows games I play to just run better and look better in like for like scenarios.

18:51 DLSS Does not run the game at a lower resolution It renders the game at a lower resolution. If DLSS is accelerating the game at 4K the game needs to run at 4K.

I'm going to assume he just means games that were designed to run at sub 4k native resolutions. DLSS could help the image quality be better even without 4K assets.

@@miscsloan8834 That is exactly what I thought he meant and it is wrong. DLSS does not raise resolution or improve the image quality. Instead is reduces rendering cost to render frames faster. The resources required do not change and the resolution of the game does not change. You can actually increase the requirements as you are removing optimisations from textures. ​From the DLSS Programming guide 3.7.0 page 13 "When DLSS is active, the rendering engine must set the mip-map bias (sometimes called the texture LOD bias) to a value lower than 0. This improves overall image quality as textures are sampled at the display resolution rather than the lower render resolution in use with DLSS."

@@headlesschickenfarmBy improving image quality I simply mean better upscaling for games that aren't designed for 4K resolutions. The performance boost from dlss allows for the possibility for other image enhancement techniques to be implemented that would otherwise be detrimental to performance.

I hope the next Pokemon game has some juice. (That next Pokemon game is not going to have the juice.)

All i want for Switch 2 is too succeed and won’t repeat the Wii U that’s all i want and better hardware.

First to say ps4 level pay the 500 dollar fine on the way out…

We can extrapolate and a couple things with specs. 1) the chip design was made prior to what AMD made for the Steam Deck and the Ally. This means it’ll resemble those devices more than a PS4. 2) Given that timing, it’ll probably resemble DLSS 2 more than anything DLSS 3 that was made for the 4000 GPU series from this past year. 3) It might also be harder to update that DLSS since NVIDIA historically does not do well with updating it on previous gen architecture. The third point is the most projective from those, but I think we can be pretty confident with the first two.

You've got 2) backwards. The features of DLSS 2 were designed for their higher end GPUs. The features of 3 were designed to be implemented across there entire line.

@@ocoom8328 You seem to have missed a big announcement from them last year. But I did make a small mistake.Let me correct myself: The new features of DLSS 3.0 were only for the higher series GPUs. The new features in DLSS 3.5 were implemented across their entire line.

@@bethanyh1637 I did see that, but the important part there is the frame generation still isn’t being applied to previous generations. That does make a big difference when we’re talking about projected capabilities for a chip that NVIDIA designed prior to the 4000 series.

You don't know anything because they haven't announce it yet, you don't know what Sony and Microsoft are planning with their mid gen consoles. I suggest you focus on the game's coming for the switch until next year when they reveal everything , you wouldn't want them to rush everything and get overshadowed by it's competitors

@@DankMemeCenterX No it didn't, Nintendo was listening to criticism of Wii U and addressed them with switch with it's hybrid console , gamers like the idea of taking their consoles on the go and interact with others elsewhere , however, with ps4pro and Xbox one X they can extend the lifespan of their current model up to 10 years or more , the same thing can happen with the 9th gen of consoles if switch 2 is a lot weaker
