Despite all odds, Nintendo (more importantly, Nintendo's president Furukawa) just casually announced the existence of the Switch's successor (AKA the Switch 2) on Twitter/X. But not only that, but they ALSO announced the NEXT Nintendo Direct for June. This is absolutely HUGE information completely out of the blue and Nintendo fans should be ecstatic right now. I know I sure am!
Unfortunately, we won't see this "Switch Successor" in the June Direct. They did confirm that in the tweet as well. But they did confirm that they will announce this new console during their CURRENT fiscal year. So that could be literally any time between now and next March. Maybe slightly later, but that seems to be the time frame most people agree on. But hey, at least we HAVE a confirmed time frame, right?
We're officially in the endgame of the Switch's lifespan. Now, it's just a matter of time until we see the Switch 2 for the first time. Are you excited?
