So about Metroid Prime 4, specifically Sylux: Sylux first appeared in Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS as one of the many titular bounty hunters. Compared to the others, though, he is notably mysterious. We don't know any backstory or what he looks like under the suit. What we do know about him is that he has a huge grudge towards the Galactic Federation, but we don't know exactly why. His suit is actually stolen GF tech though, which is why it looks similar to the Federation Force suits. Hunters' stories mode is pretty lacking, Sylux just has the same goal as all the other hunters, which is to obtain the rumored ultimate weapon. He likely wants it to make taking out the GF easier. But, as it goes for all the hunters, it was bait by the main antagonist to lure all the hunters into one place, absorb their abilities, and break free from the prison it was sealed in however many millenia ago. Obviously Samus stops it and all the hunters are able to narrowly escape. He next appears at the end of Prime 3, where he is shown following Samus. Next is Federation Force, where he's also teased at the end, but this time he kidnaps a Metroid hatchling from the GF. Those are all of his in-universe appearances. The Metroids we do see accompanying Sylux in the Prime 4 trailer only have 1 nucleus as opposed to the expected 3, which is a trait of the inferior Metroid clones created by the Space Pirates in Super Metroid, called Mochtroids. It's likely Sylux assisted in their creation thanks to the Metroid he stole. Speaking of, I don't believe Sylux was ever stated to be on good terms with the Space Pirates, but he seems to have teamed up with them in the trailer. They are both enemies of the GF, so it makes sense. And since Samus often works with the GF, Sylux isn't too fond of her either.
