    Just got my Ninja Woodfire grill and having no experience with grilling or smoking, thought I would start with chicken thighs (so if I ruined them wouldn't be such a big expense!). Found your video and followed your instructions and WOW - the best chicken thighs I ever ate! So unbelievably juicy & smoky with a crispy skin. The family definitely wants these again. :) Thanks for sharing!

    If I don’t fill pellet feed fully it won’t hardly ignite, no issues with half full pellets? It ignites them from the top.

    Great video mate!! That noise you made when grabbing the meat probe made me laugh as its the exact same noise I make every time I think it won't be too hot to pull out with my fingers!! 😂

    Where did you get that mini grill grate to set the chicken on?

    ACE Hardware... I think it was the "Grill Mark" brand. But I would suggest not putting it directly on the grill surface. That's why I bought one of those "oven mat" things and trimmed it down to fit my grill plate and put the grate on that so as to not hurt my nonstick surface.

    Okay here are the Ninja WoodFire grill facts.... :/ From San Antonio Texas BBQ capital. ^_^ Consider that the convection fan will increase the cooking effect. On Grill High is 500 Deg. On Grill Med. is 470 Deg. On Grill Low. is 375 Deg.

    Is there a question about that?

    @@TheGatorPit605 It has a tendency to really overcook very rapidly on the grill setting. 500 deg. in convection and the steak recipes cook times are ridiculous. But of course, you know that right?

    Guess I haven't noticed though I usually use my temp probes and go by temp more than time... I can't really say I've had any of my cooks that have come out dry... all of them have stayed juicy.

    Why did you put your chicken on before going through the pre-ignition process??

    Since the chicken only takes 1/2 hr ish ... I wanted to get every bit of the smokeyness that I can .... I do that on short cooks

    im confused... do you have a temp probe built into your woodfire?

  • @TheGatorPit605

    @TheGatorPit605

    I got the "pro version" so yes that comes with a temp probe . It works GREAT.... I just also have a Bluetooth probe so I can monitor it from inside the house.

    One "advantage" of having the "built-in" probe is you can set it to cook/smoke/grill things to a certain temp instead of just going by time and "guesstimating" the temp

    Yeah that's what they call it ... if you look on their site the "basic" version is just the grill but the "pro" version has the built in temp probe plug in socket and includes the probe
