    I think the gripe about waiting 24hrs is ridiculous. I’ll mash bananas, matching cherries a little yogurt and heavy cream. Throw in the freezer and the next day it only takes a few minutes to whip. Other ice cream makers take hours. It doesn’t compare to the waiting time for the creami, you just have to prep ahead of time. It’s like saying ordering off Amazon takes forever because of next day shipping versus going to the store and standing in line for 3 hrs. Everyone would go with Amazon in that scenario. It’s because despite waiting a day it’s way lower effort.

    Heya, 50 Kal. Thanks for your comments! I've changed my mind about that Creami over that past several months simply because the results out of that machine are so good. The 24 hr thing wasn't really meant to be a gripe as much as it was supposed to be a heads up for people that use compresspr based machines and whatnot. My Compressor machine can do decent ice cream in about 35 minutes or so, so there's that, but I still like the finished product out of the creami better.

    With a regular ice cream maker you can have ice cream in 1/2 hour, not hours, and you can have a lot more than a pint.

    True and true! The reason a mentioned that it's about 2 hours is that I make ice cream with eggs. That requires heating the mix... So something like 10 minutes to do all the mixing and heating... Then into the machine unless you want to let it cool and thicken a little which adds a little time... And then it depends on the texture you want. If you want a pretty firm ice cream it will need to go in the freezer for an hour or so to stiffen up... If you're a soft serve fan, all that nonsense cna be skipped.... So I was thinking more thr long way of doing it... I still use the compressor machine when we want stuff NOW... Love the convenience... But if you like to premake stuff way in advance, that Creami makes a pretty fantastic pint... And thwir new machine is bigger, so they kinda solved that tiny portion problem.... Still not anywhere near as much as a 2qt compressor machine though!

    I read a lot of conflicting reviews, watched videos of people that didn't seem to fully understand how the machine was supposed to work or had bias, stupid filler etc. Then I found your channel.     The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud kzread.infoUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!

    You can usually get rid of the smell by deep cleaning well, there are some channels that have posted videos on how to clean it

    Always disliked the keto or sugar free ice cream choices at grocery store. Now I can enjoy making my own lower calorie versions which taste great and I can pronounce all my ingredients. Love my creami.

    My Creami is always on my counter and I use it daily! I love it and have saved about 4 dollars a day, just from my slushie budget and habit of stopping for a slushie every day or so, on the way home from work!

    Yes... I have to wonder how many machines have been busted do to using the wrong sorbet fruits. They have a ton of warning stickers on the machine when you buy it. That should be one of them, IMO

    I’m glad I got one. I did have to go through an experiment phase, but I really like it. I love pineapple sorbet, and mint frozen yogurt. What I never see a video talk about is that you can make a base, like choc or vanilla, and make one mix in with the top and a different one with the bottom.

    The texture you get out of the finished ice cream is just about unbeatable unless you have a Pacojet or something. Glad you're having fun with it!

    Oh, I agree with you. I wasn't trying to compare it to pacojet in a bad way... Just making the comparison that it's a similar type of product... More like contrasting it to compressor based ice cream makers and how its different is all. I saw that in a more negative way 6 months ago for whatever reason, but since I don't mind the extra time it takes to produce ice cream, I've really come to appreciate it... Still a tiny bit leary about durability though... Not do to any experiences I've had with it, but more due to what others have mentioned.

    No still not a good deal it's not a ice cream maker it is a churning machine that's like gas being 1.68 a gallon higher then a year ago because it went from 4 to 3.10 still high

    @@jdillard343434 it’s what we use in many restaurants to make high quality ice cream, it shaves and emulsifies to make ice cream. There are many different ways to make the frozen treat this is one of them.

    I’ve read numerous complaints about the rod as it comes into contact with the mix then retracts back into the machine taking some of the mix back in with it, the rubber seal doesn’t stop it. One person took his machine apart (not recommended) and it was filled with nasty looking gunge. I ended up getting rid of mine for that reason, but hope it was only early batches that were affected by this design flaw as I really like the concept.

    I just did a teardown video a few weeks ago where I took a 2 year old creami apart to see if anything got up in it, and mine was nice and clean, so maybe they fixed that?

    I just got one from Costco for $130. Very, very happy with the workflow of the product and what it produces is quite remarkable. Hard not to love it with that pain point taken out. This video helped me make that decision when such a hefty discount was on the table. I think I made the right one. Thanks for the two reviews.

    The first Ninja Creami review was the first video I saw from this channel. Will this one be my last? Nope! One of the only channels I consistently leave a like on videos I watch haha. I bought the creami right before the deluxe came out but maybe that's why I got such a good deal on it (~$150)

    quick question, ive used the pacojet at work, and since the containers are pretty expensive (and we spun a lot of ice cream), we froze the IC bases in pint deli containers and then transferred them to the paco container to spin. will this tactic work for the creami or is the ninja container too small in diameter to fit a frozen "puck" of ice cream from a standard deli pint container? the pacojet containers seem slightly larger in diameter, i think.

    Let me just say I love ice cream, and I always have to watch my weight, so I love, love, love, my Ninja Creami. I can eat so much more light ice cream made by the Creami than I can of store bought frozen Yogurt, with so many less calories. With that said, I will say I bought my first one at WalMart for $169 plus tax. It worked well for about two weeks, and something happened with the blade where it would not stay in. I don't think I did anything wrong, but I can't swear that I didn't. It fell off mid cycle, and after using it about 2 more times, the blade would no longer stay in. had WalMart is very generous about returns, so I returned it, but made sure I had already ordered another one. I took the 2nd one with me to Florida and used it, in all, about 8 weeks, every day and a few times twice a day, when it failed. I was still within the return time for WalMart, but I was still in Miami Beach and did not know where there was a WalMart. I was very unhappy , because as I said already, I am addicted to that machine. No matter what I did the Install button would not stop blinking, so the machine did not work. I googled if there was a Ninja Creami Customer service phone number, and there was. I actually got a person who did the screen share on my phone. She checked out the lid and it was ok. After a short time, maybe ten minutes, and she had checked out everything, she said the base needed to be replaced. She said it was $20 for shipping. I said "I could just take it back to WalMart when I get home (again they have a generous return policy and I was still within the time frame). She said "yes, you could do that, but I can waive the shipping. I agreed, and that's what happened. I was not to return anything and they replaced the machine; not the lid or the bowl or containers, as there was nothing wrong with them. I was amazed that it arrived at my home in Nashville within a few days. I am using that replacement now. I honestly don't know how long it will last. I use it daily. I fully expect I may have to replace it within a year, and possibly even sooner, though it is under warranty for that long. Of course, I wish it would last as long as my tea kettles etc, but it is mostly plastic, so I'm sure it won't. The bottom line is that the machine is wonderful, and it is helping me enjoy my favorite treat and still keep my weight down; if I have to buy a new one every year, so be it. I like it that much. Only time will tell if I get tired of it, but so far, it's been about three months of using it every day, and I'm still loving it.

    That's a great story. Glad you're enjoying it. I've been pretty lucky with the ones I have here. I have 3, and they've all been reliable for me, but then again, since I have 3, no one machine gets used as much. But I do use the deluxe a lot more than the others. Glad they fixed you up!

    I'm here because I bought boba tea protein and I saw an email for a recipe with their thai tea protein powder and choice of milk. That's it! 2 ingredients. Debating on getting the Ninja Creami. High protein, monk fruit-sweetened ice cream seems like a healthier treat.

    Good you touched on the durability. I think those people with damage are using items that are too frozen solid for the Ninja Creami. Also if you get powder after the first spin it's too frozen. Letting the container sit out for 15 minutes or more depending on your freezer is best I think.

    Yep... letting it sit out works great. I just shoot a dab of milk in there to compensate to save a few minutes.... gotta eat!! I suspected the same about the damage....not too many people check the manual... I joke about that, but honestly, something like that should probably be more prevailant on the machine I think... we all know people are gonna try to put all sorts of stuff in there.

    @@JoesPhenomenal Yes I think it should be more prevalent on the machine also considering its sensitive to certain combinations. I just got my Ninja Creami a couple days ago and I wanted to try a no fat no sugar blueberry froyo which I did using only sucralose as the sweetener. My freezer is very cold and I knew there was high water content in both the yogurt and blueberries and it could damage the machine with no fat or sugar in the mix. I let it sit out for 45 minutes and the ice was starting to get soft. It processed with no respin required but still sounded rough during operation. I put my hand on the back bottom of the Creami and it was quite warm. I assume that is where the motor is. Then I did the light chocolate ice cream recipe from the Ninja recipe book, the one with coconut cream and chocolate oat milk as the base and processed that one the next day. I only let it sit out for 15 minutes. The motor area was not as hot with the chocolate ice cream recipe and I used the light ice cream setting for both recipes. I will continue to judge my Creami's stress by sound and heat on the back bottom until I have a feel for it with my freezer and recipes that work. I will not be doing the no fat no sugar again as I think that isn't good for it. I will move on to a recipe with some fat and sugar and try again. Also using wild blueberries would be better because they are much smaller and less chance of damage I would guess! The light chocolate ice cream was shockingly good although I'm using really good dutched cocoa powder so I expected that it would be extra chocolaty! I will be making that one again.

    Sounds awesome... I'm gonna need to do some temperature check to see also. Everything we do on ours is of the low or nonfat and no sugar variety so we will see how much it warms up. Some heat isn't the end of the world but if it's excessive, that could be an issue I suppose... Our old vitamix blender used to get way hot and almost smell like it was burning, and that thing lasted forever, so who knows.

    1) The rod that descends into the food during the operation and returns to the hidden place at the end of the operation must be dismantled in the laboratory. 2) The lid that rotates, at the end of the process if you rinse it with water then you will cause the "ice cream" to enter the parts of the lid and the lid cannot be disassembled for cleaning purposes,

    Super valid points! As far as the lid goes, I've been keeping an eye on that and so far we haven't had anything get into it on either of our creami machines, bu tif something does get in there, there isn't any way to open it up. As far as the rod going up into the machine, there a thick rubber gasket that prevents anything from making it's way up inside when it retracts, but I can't really verify how well it does that since there isn't a way to check. We haven't developed any weird smells or moisture coming out of it or anything yet so that's promising, but it would be nice if I could see for myself.

    That's one reason that keeps me from getting one. Not being able to properly access and clean all the parts. Even though there may be a great seal on that shaft, there will still be residue that will be remain and accumulate over time. 🤢

    Morning Joe, last night i was blending frozen yogurt n fruit as we do every night since we baught it, half way though it started making a ton of not good sounding noise, i stopped it my pulling the plug, i then took it apart and found the blade off, i put the blade on the shaft and everything looks fine, i put it back on the mixing lid and everytime i start it the blade pops off, any idea whats going on?

    Hmm... Well, when the spindle comes down and grabs the blade, the spinning action just sort of keeps it locked in there. Check the fins on the inside of the glade where there shaft goes in and see if you can see if those are damaged... Also check the end of the spindle too for damage as well... I'd guess that one or the other has a break in there so it can fall off. I'd guess it might be the blade.

    As a a rule of thumb, I never really put anything in the dishwasher that I care about.. Especially plastics.. It's just so hard on them. The metal paddle should be fine in that basket, though. It's coated, so it won't be a rust concern or anything. I just hand wash mine, though.

    I have yet to unpack my Ninja Creami but I thought that the containers were glass and not plastic... that is troublesome for me. Can glass or stainless steel containers be purchased that would fit the Ninja Creami? Thanks.

    Unfortunately, not too many manufacturers use glass anymore. I'm not a big fan of all thr plastic these days either, to be honest. I looked into that for you and it doesn't look like anyone makes a glass upgrade for that.

    If is keeps flashing install then it means that either the blade paddle isn't seated in there right, or the lid might be on crooked, or the pitcher isn't locked in all the way. I did see one other person that had done all that stuff, and it was still flashing that light, so they had to call Ninja and get it warranty replaced. Hopefully you don't need to do that.

    I’m a chef and have used the other expensive machine a lot. I have the recipes, temps and techniques dialled. I’m off the to the French alps in the winter and am considering this purchase. I’ll let you all know how I get on. Once thing I will say is, invest in stabilisers and use low fat such as milk. The more you churn cream you end up with a grainy product.

    I just use egg yolks... Or if you don't want to you those, you can use red mills egg replacer. I do 3 or 4 yolks in a creami pint and it comes out nice. Same on the egg replacer.

    I found a purple version for $15 at a thrift store and I’ve used it about three times a week ever since I got it. I’m not sure I would have paid retail price since I’m not a huge ice cream person but for $15 I couldn’t pass it up.

    Thanks Joe. I have yet to make good ice cream with my Ninja Creami. I haven't returned it yet, but I'm about to. I get nothing but inedible chalk, regardless of how much fat I use and how many times I respin it. So far, I've wasted a lot of cream and other ingredients. I know it's operator error because the machine is simply spinning the ingredients, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

    Getting a creamy product is easy. Just add a little cream to ice cream and spin it down a second time. For sorbets, I like adding a little bit of orange liquor. It's easy if you're smart enough to figure out the chemistry of food.

Also, I've tried freezing the pints in my fridge freezer because I heard that my deep freezer was too cold, but got the same results. The cream I use is heavy whipping cream, 3/4 c to 1 cup whole milk. Is that too much fat?

    When you process the Creami pint in the machine, what color is the stuff in the pint? Is it darker colored or really light colored? It will start darker, but it slowly turns light after a day to 2 days depending on the mix. Also, what other ingredients are you using? Have you tried putting in an emulsifier like egg yolks? If you used the egg yolks, did you cook the mix first before going into the pints?

    I think you'll be fine. Thats a good price, and as long as you don't mind having to freeze your ice cream mix a couple days in advance of eating it (I just make them 3 or 4 at a time) then you'll be golden. It makes good stuff.

    Yep. You can refreeze and reprocess it in the Creami... Just be sure that when you put it back in freezer, you smooth it out and make it nice and level in the Creami pint container before it hardens back up

    @@hithere8753 well.. The store bought stuff has extra additives that keep it soft. Most homemade stuff will harden up. Pretty solid.. I'm still trying to figure out a way to do it without adding tons of fat and calories.

    You can do all that in a blender, I've done a couple of videos about that, but it's a much better result in the Creami since it's designed for that. The blade is a lot different... It's more like a paddle or shaver.

    Yeah... That's what I do with "suspect" fruit.... Depending on the fruit, I'll leave it sit for up to 2o minutes or so, to be safe so I don't risk messing the machine up.

    Hi, Don! You should be able to adapt any of our ice cream recipes to Non-Dairy by swapping eggs out for something called Bob's Red Mill Egg Replacement"... You can use the almond milk, but I've found that full fat Oatmilk works even better. If there is protein power in the recipe, you can sub that out for Vegan protein also... That should get you set. All the measurements would stay the same. I'll schedule a video for something like that as well, for ya.

    I make a low fat sugar free frozen desert with mine. If I only eat a little and put it back in the freezer, it freezes rock solid and has to be run through again. Because of that rock hard frozen mixture being put into the creme, I assume,, the blade started falling off and, Ninja said I need to buy a new one. They offered a new one for about $110 , but refused to give me any discount if I wanted to get a 500 series instead. They have no emails address to contact support or move higher up. They offer what looks like an email address as a place to go when their support can't help, but that is just a site and offers no solution at all. They are , "not able to offer a discount on the 500 series on their system", when I speak to them. It is a very difficult company to deal with.

    There's a video on here where this guy's Creami sparked a fire...other comments say similar burn smell issues. I returned mine, unused, immediately! It should be much easier to clean. For $200, or even at a great discount...NINJA can kick rocks on this machine!

    @stllady1827 the fire could have been on the Ninja Creami Breeze. That's the newest one and it got discontinued right away due to fire risk. I still have one, and haven't had issues, but it doesn't get used as much as the others either

    Heya, Sue. I've seen that complaint a few times, and I do have an idea what might be happening there. Obviously, I could definitely be wrong. The way the creami works is that it has the paddle that comes down the middle of the pint being guided by a metal shaft. WHat I think the plastic shards are coming from is the paddle hitting the side of the creami pint. Really, that's the only place it can make contact other than the top, and I think that even if it's all the way up, it would miss the top unless the paddle is tweaked a pretty severe angle. To hit the sides, it would mean that the shaft is bending and letting the paddle make contact there. IMO, that may be happening if people are using ingredients that freeze too hard (i.e. have too high a water content). If that's the case, I can see that shaft beding a little. In the Creami manual, it does say that for sorbets and such, only a handful of fruits are suitable and the others freeze too hard citing that it can break the machine. That's the only place I've seen that written, and too me, if that's the case, it should be way more prominent with the packaging. WHen I use hard freezing stuff, I let the pints sit out a while to defrost a little so the contents aren't so hard, and I haven't had any issues with that yet. We use the Creami a lot for the channel, too, so you'd think I would have seen it happen, but maybe those extra precautions are the difference? Hard to say.

That and the finished ice cream just tastes better than those dairy free and sugar free ones from the supermarket. Waiting overnight to eat it can be a bummer, but I just make several at once before I really think about wanting to eat it so it's ready when I do. I have a bunch of sugarfree ones finished in my freezer now: Rocky Road, Snickers, Vanilla, Dole Whip, Chocolate Chip, and Matcha Tea.... I should probably eat some of that soon. haha

    All the ice cream I make is a major fail. I've tried several different recipes and they all turn out flaky - not creamy at all. I added liquid as some have recommended, and sometimes the top layer will soften and look like ice cream, but you can only get one serving out of it and under that, it's all flaky again...getting tired of wasting my money.

    OK... So you are getting the result that looks kinda dry and crumbly? There are a few things you can do. I get that a lot too, because I keep my freezer really cold. First try letting the pint sit out for about 15 minutes before you process it. If it comes out crumbly, you can always add a couple of tbsp of milk to it after that, and hit the respin button. If it's still crumbly underneath, it means you needed a tiny bit more of that milk to absorb down further. How much extra liquid were you putting in?

    You take the frozen pint, make a hole in the center and add milk. Follow the instructions. He also does not mention the rubber seal on the lid. Must be removed and cleaned after each use. No sugar, yuck!

    Heya, LambChopPanda. Yep. You can use your blender for most of that stuff. In fact, I have some videos on the channel doing that very thing. The Creami's big advantage it the texture on the finished product though... It comes out really smooth and firm.

    It's not the same. The blade and drill design of the Creami shaves the ice cream into microscopically thin layers, which breaks up the ice crystals and creates an ice cream/gelato-like texture. It's sort of similar as an ice cream churner, except it doesn't incorporate as much air. You can't get that effect from a normal blender no matter how powerful it is. If it was as simple as using a blender to make ice cream, why would we ever need ice cream makers in the first place? Lmao

    Looks like the music and voices on that one were too close together in dB. Sorry for that. All out newer stuff has the voice audio cranked to -3 dB to make it stand out better. It seems to depend on peoples setups on that video whether it sounds ok or now. Weird.

    @@JoesPhenomenal It's not even the music, it's your voice clarity and volume. It sounds like your mic is in a pillow, and we're only hearing the lower frequencies. I didn't even notice the music until I saw your comment. People always boost the bass too much to try to sound more "radio-like", but it's just sounds annoying and muffled when not monitored correctly.

    @xKenn yeah.. I was still dealing with learning how to edit audio back then. Might have overdone it a bit. Seems like it's worse with certain people's setups for some reason. I got it working better on the newer stuff, though. Thanks for the tip!

    Why low fat? Got to get up to date on that. “Fat is good for you”. Don’t cut the fat. All carbs are sugar. Doesn’t make sense to go no sugar and low fat.

    Low-fat diets have been effective in promoting weight loss when calories are restricted. However, very low-fat diets can create vitamin and mineral deficiencies. In general, it's best to consume a more balanced diet that includes mono- and polyunsaturated fats for overall health and longevity, IMO. I agree with you though, not to cut that fat too much. I'm not really into super low fat diets, but when it comes to snacks like Ice cream, I'd rather save that fat for regular meals.

    Ninja products are cheesy! I speak from the experience I had 10 years ago when I got their mixer\food processor. The container, the blades ...they are not high quality and cannot withstand anything near professional grade intensity. They are made more for very light work and very gentle care. This does not mean I am not seriously considering the Ninja Creamer. But, if I do get it, I am going to follow and surpass every instruction regarding the hardness of the ice cream. You can be assured it will break- of this I guarantee you! Frankly, with the low quality of the product I got, I am amazed they are still around and doing business.

    You know... I have that old ninja food processor also, and of all the stuff I have, it's the least impressive by a pretty wide margin, so I feel your pain. I do give them a bit of a pass on the durability though based on a couple of things. First, I haven't personally had any of them die on me, and second, at the price point they sell at, I can't really expect them to be able to hold up to super high volume use like in a pro environment... Like that Creami. It's basically a cheap clone of a Pacojet, but those things are like 5k. That being said, I wouldn't mind those being a little pricier for some extra durability. Also, the market that Ninja caters to is that lower priced market where Cuisinart is at.
