Ninja 400 Upgraded Clutch Pack & Springs

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

#kawasakininja #motorcycles #ninja400
Finally got around to it and it was a lot easier than I thought! The biggest thing is to take your time and remember how the clutch packs were organized from the transmission so you can organize your new clutch pack exactly how the old one was. For the clutch springs just remember to use the right unit of measurement when torquing it down!
Haven't been able to ride it yet but I will predict that it will ride a whole lot better once the clutch packs are broken in. With the new clutch springs...no more clutch slipping when I want to get on it on the freeway after 60mph.

Hey and thanks for the sub! Nasa bay area ka ba? I'm looking to do a long trip from Washington on the 400 or my CBR to San Fransisco next summer hopefully. Always wanted to go down there and sightsee. Might have to let you know when I got everything planned out and ready to ride down there. Thanks for the kind words and I can't wait to see what new Kawi you got in mind!

I speak very little tagalog actually. I can understand it and that's about it. Just a filipino that never learned lol. Learning to speak it so it's easier on my fiance. I'll probably have to activate my IG again so it's easier to keep in touch instead of relying on comments on the youtubes. I'll hit you up when I get my IG back up.

Link to helmet gloves Bro, you laid this video down but you forgot the most important piece of information; the link to the clutch and plates! Can you drop those too?

Clutch springs bike vs car? On a car the "fingers" on the pressure plate provide the clamping force. On the bike the springs do the same thing while also tightening the feel of your clutch lever? If I had bets on mechanical application itd be there.

That honestly sounds about right. The clutch lever on the 400 doesn’t feel like it tightens (without considering the clutch spring kit I have installed) thanks to the slipper and assist the bike has.

Wow, looked pretty easy and straight forward to do. What do you have to left other then put the cowls back on? Oh and fix that break lever........drive me nuts to see it bent over a little heat and crescent wrench action and she will be good as new again. Really glad to see your almost there and will be able to back on the bike again. My son and I went for a ride Saturday for about 1 hr he is a new rider and he is the one were thinking about getting the same bike for or a Z650 not sure yet. I ride a Suzuki Bandit 1200 he is on a older 01 Ninja 250r. Sun was out so had to take advantage and enjoy!!!

Yeah! I thought it would be somewhat difficult but it ended up being very easy to do. Just minor things to keep note of and its all set. I know, I know lol. I’m gonna get that brake pedal fix. Just not really priority now until it gets close. Only things left is to take the fuel tank off. Grab the ECU for a new map with the future power upgrades (DNA air filter, TST velocity stacks, and full exhaust system) and check on the spark plugs (service says change at 7500 miles, I’m at 18k 🤣). The Z650 is a great bike and I’m thinking of getting that for a daily. The 400 is easy to ride, maintain, and cheap to own. Plus plenty of power to get on the freeway and then some. Also has enough power to be fun on the backroads and in town. But if worried about power and growing bored of it too quickly…maybe the 650 would be good enough to hold him off for a bit. Only concern of mine is young riders wanting more power before mastering the basics. And lucky on riding! I’m almost there 🤣

Humble advice: Get your kid on the 400 (Ninja or Z) and not the 650. The 400 will do everything and your kid will get better quicker with lower risk level. Plus you have more fun on a bike you can whip around rather than to not be able to use the full bigger bike.

@@evanarkush8643 Hey, we wound up buying the Z400 for him and he is loving it. Had an issue with the O2 sensor not working, we cleaned it and that worked for a week. after that we bypassed it. He rides everyday. Really glad to see you back on your bike!!!

I upgraded the friction plates, the steel plates, and the clutch springs. The factory clutch is just no good once you start getting used to your bike.

I feel like my bike is not as punchy off the line or I might just be trippin or I probably got used to the power of the bike! I dunno

@KingVincemoto the stock gearing is set for a balance of acceleration and top speed. I’ve recently done a +1 in the rear sprocket. Contemplating on making a video about it. Bike is a lot more punchy compared to stock gearing. I can power wheelie in 1st gear.
