The bassist and guitarist founded the band in 1987 when they were both at university. They were heavily influenced by classic metal and rock bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, and Judas Priest. They've been rocking for over 30 years but have mostly started to get recognition in the last decade or so.

I saw hem live in Bochum Germany in 2020 and it was greatgreatgreat!!! if you ever have the possebilety to see them, do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same here. My temporary last concert so far. Nearly two years without visiting any concert is really hard.

So glad to see Ningen Isu get some appreciation in the US. These guys are phenomenal. I love how the guitarist doesn't even really heat up until 3/4s into the song. After playing for decades they've truly mastered their instruments and it shows. If you have time to dig, their early stuff is just as great.

"great way to spend your 50s" yea well, the fun part is that they spent their 20s, 30s and 40s like this, too! :)

If drummer has dual base drums and a gong. Then you know a band is serious! Seriously, I've known them for a while and I can tell this is just one of many good songs they have. I suggest you continue and you will see for your self.

This group's 'Hell's Mountain of Needles' was my introduction to Japanese rock back in '90 or '91. Glad you found them. The bass player trades off with vocals, and I give him the edge in that area. These days I think of them as Band Maid's grandpas. 22 albums and counting. Rock on!

Ningen Isu (silent 'u' so pronounced Ningen Iss) are dressed as a traditional/19th century schoolteacher (lead guitarist), a mute monk (bassist) and a yakuza member (drummer). This song is such great value - it's like 4 or 5 songs in one. Love it! Great reaction! Btw, the lyrics are usually pretty deep with this band and I think there's a subtitles button on this.
