David, please, i beg you to re-watch "bari bi'led" with subtitles. This song has such a deep lyrics that talks about everything. My favorite line from this song is " seven billions one nation" i was about to cry when i first heard and understood the lyrics.

About the first song. David, you spoke in Kazakh "Ap-ademi, birok en emes", which means "You are beautiful, but not the most." "Emes" means "Not the most." And the name of the song is "Not Me." (You are not me). For many Turkic peoples, eagles are a symbol of freedom. The Kazakhs took eagles to hunt. The eagle is a very smart bird. You can see a golden eagle on the Kazakh flag, personifying the love of freedom, the nobility of thoughts. By the way Ninety One's fandome called "Eaglz" (Eagles) We love and respect this bird, so that's why we use everywhere as our symbol. Also you can see in M/V wooden building this is our national home called "boz yi" (yurt). This type of house is very widespread among nomadic peoples. This house also become our symbol. You can also see different inscriptions on the wall, this is the Orkhon-Yenisei runic inscription. Our ancestors used this script, but over time, unfortunately, we stopped using it. Our ancestors from Altai, the Yenisei River in Russia. By the way, all Turkic languages (Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkish and others) and Korean are included in the Altai group of languages, but the Korean language is debatable. We seem so different, but there are common things.
*SEN MEN EMES means You are not me* *Bari biled - everybody knows.*

The MV of “Bari Biled” is quite understandable even without subtitles. I hope many people will listen to them and think before damaging our nature
YESS! FINALLY👏👏👏 I saw Ninety One at mini concert in Seoul and they are AMAZING performers and people! It's great to see them continuing to spread their messages through their music despite the initial backlash they received when they 1st came out. They are working hard to be a movement in their own country and a group that well deserves all the respect♥
Hook means: yeah, you’re cool, but not the coolest, yeah, you’re rich, but not the wealthiest, yeah, you’re beautiful, but not the most, CAUSE YOU ARE NOT ME

I agree
There are English subtitles 😭💔
In Kazakhstan, they still actively practice the sport of falconry. This video has a lot of nods to their culture - for example mentioning their nomadic past. It's really interesting. I'm sure people already told you but Ninety One provides English subtitles for most of their songs. Bari Biled has a very deep meaning that I've taken in a few ways. Bala - the pollution of the world is ruining the oceans and world Ace - the news often shows visions of war, hate, and destruction. As the lyrics say, there's a lot of energy for hate but little strength to love anymore. Alem - I see the room of nooses with flowers as a sign of how the world views suicide/mental health. The flowers as a fleeting sadness that we feel when faced with these "taboo topics". The lyrics say that "we all know what needs to be done but do nothing". This statement is true for all of these issues they bring up. AZ - I see this as domestic abuse and broken families. Once again, there is so much hate and we don't try to calmly fix our problems. Instead, people lash out and hurt their families/loved ones. ZAQ - the people in this room are silenced and ZAQ mentions how we need guns because we live in an age where we fear each other. He also mentions how the blind are also in the world of the deaf because people refuse to hear or see the facts that our world is being hurt. People say there isn't any way to fix our problems and some refuse to believe that these problems are even real, but we all have a voice and can help. This is why he finishes with even billions are a community - because in the end, we aren't any different from one another. We are one world and will reap the consequences as a community. The images at the end of war, pollution, pain, and fear are all too real... We need to reflect on ourselves and learn to love one another, not just "our own people". In the end, we all belong to this world and nations are just lines we drew to separate ourselves.
1:10 Alem - vocalist 1:35 AZ - rapper (again @ 3:55) 1:49 Zaq - rapper (again @ 2:41) 1:59 Bala - vocalist 3:15 Ace - vocalist ❤ (you could say that he's my bias but they don't use Kpop terms in qpop)
Oh, David, they have eng subs in all their MVs!!!😁😁😁

ooooooh Im interested in seeing what you think of this group. I first saw and heard them on I Can See Your Voice when Mamamoo were the guest stars. They were amazing and absolutely fascinating. They're so respected and well-loved in their country that their fans voted one of the members into a government position!!! He was an elected member of the 2018 National Assembly representing the voice of the youth. It made me think that if Army knew this they would definitely make their chant "RM for President" a reality :)
Thank u sm for the reaction! Actually, the message of the first song is that there is always someone who is better you in one particular thing/field, so stop comparing yourself with others cuz just like these people, you also have your own uniqueness/strong point in another field. (The chorus says: yes, you’re cool, but not the coolest; yes, you’re rich, but not the richest; you’re handsome/beautiful, but not the most; cuz you’re not me) Also, it has some points referring to the corruption, but even I could get it only from their interviews and that stuff. ( despite the fact that I’m Kazakh) The second song’s message was more open and obvious, I guess. It’s bout wars, domestic violence, suicide, environmental issues and it’s time to stop this chaos. Anyway, thank u for reacting to them. Waiting for more mv reactions

The bird they are holding is an eagle. Eaglez is their fandom's name, also an eagle is portrayed in the flag of Kazakhstan, so it's very symbolic. Actually the whole mv is full of cultural symbols. Men emes - not me, Sen men emes - you are not me. They told this song kind of about individuality, like I think if you sing along the lyrics, it means that be proud of who you are no matter who you are, you are different than others and it is supposed to be that way. Also, in Bari Biled you were asking about freedom of speech, you were right, elections for presidency went place in Kz in june, and there were issues about freedom of speech, rights in the country. Also, Kz ranks high in suicide rates, in the top ten countries, so all the issues raised in the mv are relatable in Kz, and of course not only in Kz. Ninety One is the first qpop group, that means qpop is only 4 years old. Thank you for your reaction, I'll wait for another qpop/91 reactions as well♡
I'm soooo excited! 😍😍😍😍 Finally, Ninety one, Qpop
I cried while watching "Bari Biled" with subs on... Like, I was excited for the new song, so immediately after the release I clicked that video with a big smile on my face.. and then I cried. They got me shook. I love them and their songs, many songs have a message, so just remember to turn cc on next time.
There's a closed caption in all of their MVs Just so you know Yes Kazakhs do has a mix of Asian and Western flair in their looks. Men Emes (if I'm right) means "you're not me". Bari Biled (again if I'm right) means "everyone knows" *I deduced from the closed captions One of the members, Ace (6:25) was a former SM trainee (he almost made it into NCT but he went back to Kazakhstan)
These mvs have Kazakh, Russian and English subtitles. And lyrics if Bari Biled is so deep and makes me cry. Men emes means I am not you and bari biled means everyone knows(if you read the lyrics, you will know the meaning) Thank you for your reaction!
Omgooosdsss yaaasss ushshsnsjjsjsjsjjss. MY TWO WORLD COLLAPSED. I'm not into Qpop but Ninety one seriously caught my eye . They're sensitive to the trends in Korea and also western. I literally place them like BTS of Qpop. Their music is so diverse. Been following them for 2 years now...

Ethnicity-wise Kazakhstan is VERY diverse. There are more than 100 ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan rn. The most dominant ones are the ethnic Kazakhs (58.9%) and ethnic Russians (25.9%).
My favorite song from them is Ah!Yah!Mah!. They are amazing. Mad Men, EQ, 10IZ, and many other groups are great too. I found out about Qpop a few days ago and now I am stuck in this rabbit hole and I do not want to leave.
listening to it again... searching their songs in Itunes im buying the whole album They are really sexy and sound amazing
hey that is so cool Dave. to see you using your platform to shine light on other global music genres. i do the same thing, because it was always the main objective for my channel. Ninety One really works hard and have been using their voices for not only fun and entertainment...but also to bring awareness to things that need to change in government as well as society. through platforms such as yours as well as my own, we can help influence the dialogues and give them more longevity, so that these issues can be more mainstream enough to force change. great reaction my friend and respect to your open mind! 🔥👍🤓

i requested to watch 91 and he watched it, i am so thankful to david for reacting to ninety one thank u david so much people definetely should know ninety one and their music
Yes!! Ninety One!!!
Yay I was waiting for this reaction video!! You were right about the cultural aspects in a “men emes” music video. At the beginning of the song you can hear the sounds of Kazakh national instruments. And then throughout the music video the different national items are presented such as a yurt (“kiiz uyi”) where the nomad Kazakhs lived back at the time. Also, one of the members is holding an eagle, which back then was used by Kazakhs for hunting. (Fun fact: their fandom is called eaglez haha) And the dog was standing with other member. That specific breed of the dog was also used for hunting. The word “emes” doesn’t have an exact English translation, but the phrase “sen men emes” means you’re not me, so it’s more like a negative adverb if that makes sense. I hope that was useful and STAN NINETY ONE!
David: I feel He sounds kinda like GD Danny: Everyone sounds like GD to you
Wow! The beat is soooo good its my first time listening to them their good but i dont like some lyrics in men emes i like bari biled & why thank you for sharing this david

The lyrics in Men emes are also good, they tell that you are individual, no one is better than you, song for not confident people
Omg, I’ve been watching you literally for years now and never thought that you gonna react to Q-pop, thanks that means a lot❤️
David you’ve GOT TO react to their mv Why’m! AND TURN ON THE CAPTIONS! It’s breathtaking, especially the beginning it gives me chills every single time! Thank you for reacting to them. I just found them a few weeks ago through a kpop mutual on twitter and thought I’d check them out. When I say I was blown away by their uniqueness. I know music and yet I had never heard anything like it before!
I found Ninety One through Instagram when I saw their fans spamming votes for one of the members to be nominated for most handsome face of 2019. There were so many comments for azamat (I think?) that I figured they must’ve been really famous so I looked them up. Tbh i didn’t really like the first song I heard, and I was about to click away but I decided to listen to Bari Biled and I fell in love with the song, the m/v, and the lyrics. I wouldn’t call myself a fan quite yet but they’ve definitely been growing on me.

Just a tip David a lot of these people have English subs. So you know what they are saying. And they aren't crappy KZread subs a lot of the time they add them or their fans add them. :)
yes Ninety one, love and thanks from Kazakhstan
I do not speak the language but just very simple what I get from Men Emes is 'be humble/stop trying to make yourself important' and what I get from Bari Biled is basically 'not doing something or saying something is only contributing to the problem(s) -- we need to act to change.' But I feel like that's just the surface of it all. I really like that they are also using their music to spread a message. I am really happy to see more young groups do this.
Thank you reaction

also they came out with a new lyric video today called “OLAR” you should check out the song!!
Hey David! Ninety one just released their new EP, and new MV for the title song "Senorita". The fun thing is, actually "senorita" doesn't mean Senorita, It's just a phonetic wordplay between Kazakh and Spanish(like with a lot of their other songs). The song full of these wordplays that are sound like a spanish but they all are in kazakh(except the very first 4 words). You should definitely check out! I promise you will be surprised
the clip "Men Yemes" was also with a motivational sense for young people
Thanks for sharing this....I went and researched and really find this genre(still not sure genre is the right word) amazing! I might never had been introduced if not for you. Keep up the great work!!!

Hiiii!!😀 Below are many comments in the Kazakh language, they wrote that you are very similar to kazakh, they thought that you are from Kazakhstan, like me. nice to meet you. Greetings from Kz🙌🙌👋👋👋
The guy with a srrange hair is ZaQ. The falcon is a metaphor for the symbol of their country, something like freedom and things like this. The most of lyrics is about freedom, abd things like that. Sen men emes means you are not me!
This is the second video that I watched of your reaction to Ninety One. I am on the third week of knowing more of this group because I found them amazing when they were in ICSYV. Could you react also to Mooz if you didn't do it yet?
Wooow thanks for the reaction😍😍😍
NINETY ONE 👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥
Hey! About the women, Kazakh women look different based on different regions they live. People who line more on the northern side look almost Russian and very little asian features whereas as we move south, looks get more Asian. I personally don't look Kazakh, coz of the more northern region i belong to.
