The Nine Network is a major Australian commercial free-to-air television network that launched on 16 September 1956. It is owned by the parent company Nine Entertainment and is one of five main free-to-air television networks in Australia. They are currently the second highest-rating television network in Australia, behind the Seven Network, and ahead of Network 10, ABC TV, and SBS.
My next Australian ident history will be on Seven Network.
My next logo history will be on Regal Entertainment, Inc. from the Philippines.

Here my opinion: For National Television Network and National Nine Network, I don't have feelings. For Nine Network: From 1st Logo to 28th Logo. I like the First launch logo but why there a Circle-7? Did Nine Network plagiarized Seven Network? Dance9 of the 1st Logo is very classic and doesn't have those modern, cringy dances. I also kinda like the bloopers at the end. So as the 2nd logo. Yellow-ball, don't be shy! 7th, 8th and 10th was great because it's features the map-flyover animation. 11th, 12th and 13th was also great because it's features city-flyover-exchange animation. 18th and 19th is bestest one because of interior-flyover animation and the Fostcaros(?) 10 years anniversary of the 19th logo has that extended jingle which I like it. 20th logo is very weird. Especially the branding. 28th logo. I felt like the "Slow the Spread" sounds very controversial. Kinda loved this logo history.

Awesome ident history of Nine Network, Jonty! You know what?! Australia has such great places, such as the Sydney Opera House, and the idents from Nine Network are interesting too! Most of these idents are pretty good, although I'm seeing that these Australian networks just got really inspired by the American TV networks (in case of the "Still the One!" idents, which are inspired by ABC (the American one)). Some of my favourite idents from Nine Network would be the 1st ident ("Get the Channel Nine feeling!"), the 2nd ident (Living Colour), and the idents from the 1980's until the 1990's, because the animation in them is absolutely _amazing._ However, I've noticed that, on the Living Colour ident, it uses the American spelling of "colo'r" instead of the British spelling of "colour". But anyway, great video!

I constantly forget that the Nine Network and ABC (American Broadcasting Company) used several of the same idents in the 70s. I don’t really know much about them, but I’m assuming that an outside company made them, and they each bought some kind of license to use them to promote their channels. Also, I find it kind of funny that they constantly used the “still the ONE” slogan, when they were Channel NINE. I guess “still the NINE” doesn’t have the same ring. XD

The reason why their slogan is "Still the One" was likely due to how popular they are that it's Australian second most watched television network, the first one is Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

ABC stopped being the one in 1980 when the You and Me idents started. Nine Network on the other hand...

In case you're wondering what the point of those 1980s ones were, it was showcasing the "networking" or linking via satellite of all the capital cities for the first time on a regular basis. Or, even more, the ownership being unified for the first time, but which in turn led to the programming being unified. That's why they fly from Melbourne to Sydney in the early 1980s, and as the 3D graphics improve, from Perth to Sydney (with a quick wave of light appearing from Brisbane to Melbourne). At the end of the 80s they're just showing the light wave at the start, but now it's a more abstract vibe, breaking through the earth into … the outdoors of an Australian city again? Who knows … maybe it's symbolising fibre-optic links underground now, but mostly it's showing the upgrade to the 3D photorealism they could now afford. My earliest memory is the last 1970s-style one just before the "Flight Simulator 1.0" version happened.
Nice history. australia is good too

Ah, the 70s, the decade of loops!
I do agree that Channel 9 has some interesting logo concepts, and the program choices are interesting some home grown some international being an Australian TV fan myself
The 2001 part is Used The EastWest Scoring Tools called Let's Fly, is also used by CJ Entertainment
In 24th logo, in 2009, the camera actually stay but in 2010, the camera move the curve angle to make it better Also, ima prefer 25th logo and love the video
11:37 was black and white
It's weird how the first 2001 ident was already obsolete a year later. It could've easily stuck around until about 2006.
Sorry if I’m too late, but this is a good set of idents for a channel! My favourite idents are the 11th ident and the 21st ident coz I like the music in them! And I wonder what the music in the 21st ident is.. Hgames
12:18 is the infamous "red herring" moment when Nine's (former) owner Kerry Packer personally called up and forced the pilot Australia's Naughtiest Home Videos episode off the air - they threw up the technical difficulty slide and pulled the programme after he took exception to the show and its content

For those playing along at home - a Cheers re-run was aired in lieu, people complained but the episode was never aired in its complete original form. It was aired, edited, in 2008 with the interruption replicated as part of the presentation. This only happened after Packer died a few years earlier and the original version was located and verified.

The Nine Channel boy
"National Television Network" That's the blandest name I've ever seen.
I hate how the mid-1990s ones were a whole lotta nothing. The 90s were so ashamed of the 80s, that's all. They didn't want to do anything unusual. The late-1990s ones were basically "a whole lotta nothing, but with more pizazz". Still abstract. The 1999-2000 one was pretty much the same formula, but "New Millennium Television", what, so, 1000 years of future empire? As the 01/01/01 date approached and they flicked the switch to digital and widescreen, they finally did something quirky with spirit. It was super "digital" with lots of binary 0 and 1 motif. Of course that wasn't received well by everyone else … So for 2002 they made some prettier versions with lots of flair and colour. But nooo, by 2003 they went full tilt in the opposite direction and aimed straight for plain bold colours. Each day of the week got its own colour. Not a hint of digital anymore. In fact "pinball machine" was about as analog as it gets. The Eddie CEO era 2006-07 lost its balls but to make up for it had some of the nicest translucency effects. A real chill vibe, especially on the second iteration. 2010's "Welcome Home" was pretty much the final one, with a 3D-HD version being produced for the 3D Trial channel. With marketing department already getting rid of the whole concept, they never got shown at the start of shows anymore. Ten years later they'd even get rid of them in the UK. I can't even remember if the USA had them by the 1980s, they might have nixed them first.
