This connection with the track "Together" is so strong.. How the melody is just slightly changed its like the same track but much sadder & hopeless version. I think its shows how humanity is so fragile and how close it is from being "Together" to being "Apart"

Every single one of these is an untelegraphed punch to the gut, amplified by dark times of uncertainty, distrust and fear. In the future, if someone asks me for a soundtrack of these times....these uneasy times....I won't have to look very far. Trent and Atticus have already provided.

I hope I'm not the only one who is waiting for the grit to return in to Trent's teeth and we get another album in the era of Broken and Downward Spiral. I am so biased i love ALL that Trent and Atticus touches. Why not a new How to Destroy Angels album? I can (and have dreamed/) hope for Tapeworm to become a new reality. I am getting older and i like so much music i would've never heard if it wasn't for this one band but that road always leads back to NIN. In these uncertain times, a follow up to Year Zero.....(what happened to the rumored t.v. show?)? A With Teeth part 2? Ghosts reminds me of ghosts. Just an echo of an echo of an echo..... My heart lies with you.

@@mikefisher7142 he's an entirely different person now. "another album in the era" of Broken and TDS would I imagine come feel very disingenuous as he's lived dozens of lifetimes since then and is not remotely coming from the same place as then. Sincerity is the most important thing to Trent in music, part of why it's so powerful. He can still make harder music, but those eras are closed, as many eras are for all of us in time. As the world turns, we are all pulled along toward new realities and leaving behind old ones.

I was walking through a city that was recently murdered by the virus while listening to this. The sky was heavily overcast and breaking into drizzling cold rain and gusts of wind that me shiver with every bone in my body. The air was heavy with loneliness and decay. I walked for a long time, taking note of how little time it took for everything to start falling apart without US. OUR bodies were still decaying when the roads and houses started to break down, and mother nature began to reclaim her bounty. After walking for hours and getting close to my destination, I was stopped dead in my tracks in middle of the street after noticing something out of the corner of my eye - a HUMAN silhouette! Another survivor! SHE must have seen me first coming from the opposite end of the street. WE stood there, studying one another from fifty meters away for what hell like an eternity, transfixed by the impossible task of trying to make out the color of each other's eyes. WE wanted to run... towards one another, lock in a tight embrace and never let go. I took my right of the street and she took hers, as we passed each other keeping a safe distance... Apart... never to see each other again.

Honestly, its kind of depressing that despite the pandemic, the quarantine, empty streets and isolation for the vast majority of the entire world. Our leaders are still looking for a way to start wars, profit from the situation and blame each other. It kind of makes me feel like even if it were the end of the world, it still wouldn't bring us closer to each other and make us forget our differences. Humans are truly apart from each other, even without a pandemic.

I can't believe it's been a year. It's all flown by so fast. Never got to see you which really bugs the hell out of me. There was this book and the title always stuck with me though I never read it ; All Things Are Eventual. And I found a strange comfort in that. Your music means the world to me and I love you lol ..but yeah, so looking forward to the new NIN release. This has been such an experience to listen to and as difficult or lonely as things have been at times, this gives me that same odd comfort which is familiar, frightening, warm, and beautiful all at once. It's like a universe all it's own.

Here's an idea. Step back from reading/watching the fake news. Stop listening to Hollywood. Stop listening to the demented, demonic leftist politicians. They want you to live in fear. They want you to panic. They're doing this on purpose b/c they know their time is short. Like him or not, agree with him or not, Trump is slowly exposing their crimes to the public. A series of reveals so devastating and embarrassing, they'll do anything (even release a virus) to try and stop their dark deeds from seeing the light and facing prison time or the death penalty for what they did. But it's not gonna work. Not this time. There's no one on their side who can lead to make America great again and they know it. They hate Trump and what he represents. He's returning power back to the people. Like everything else these evil ppl have tried, it's going to fail. This too shall pass.

Ok I know y'all gonna rip me for this and don't get me wrong I love NIN but I'm not into this abstract stuff Trent is doing with these ghosts LP's. I mean no beat, no lyrics, just ominous sounds mixed together. I'm dying for him to put out another fragile or with teeth type album.

Which was always difficult for me. Do I want to listen to Ghosts 23 or do I just like the number 23? Both.

To be honest I don't think I like the names, they seem a bit off brand somehow. Won't be looking much at song titles with these albums though so that's alright.

Ziziel Ziziel I understand where you’re coming from, and yes, you’re right, the prior Ghosts tracks had no names. However, think about when these tracks are being released (March 2020). We’re already living in a time of extreme uncertainty, and with this release acting as a sort of soundtrack to these times, I think giving names to the tracks helps convey some sense of “normalcy” in a world forced into confusion and chaos. That’s just my take on it.
