I'm from tamilnadu just shifted to kerala.. Struggling wid d rice n kerala.. Too much gas I wasted as I cooked in the rice pot Nd I'm not familiar wid d cooker.. This video helped me so much and it saved most of the gas use and tym.. Thank you shamee sis...😊😊😊

Doing this way for the last 40+ years, every day every meal. But I know most people don’t know this way of cooking rice. Also I find it easier than thermal pot method. Anyway you have to boil it well before transferring to the thermal pot. Give five more minutes give or take, rice is ready to serve. And for draining simply remove the washer, close with the lid and slant it to another pot like when cooking in the traditional way

Boil water and put the required rice for some time or overnight. In the morning, put in the cooker with sufficient water. Just 2 whistles. For removing the water, no need of removing to the colander, just remove the rubber gasket and tilt the cooker over a vessel to collect the Kanjivellam. Without soaking in hot water, 2 whistle is not enough. About 4 whistles will be needed. Have always been making in this way for the past 21 years.
