I don't know why I suddenly thought of "Beggars Day" but the next thing you know I was down a rabbit hole and honestly I haven't thought about Nils Lofgren in 30 years. This performance is wonderful!

Love Nils. Great voice, great songwriter and such a gifted guitarist. The general public just don't appreciated what a great guitar player this guy is. This example speaks volumes. Met him briefly once at Radio London - a very down to earth humble guy. Total respect.

Nils has always had the light shining through him, and never more brightly or silently than in this song.

That man is 100% pure musician.

Love Nils..saw Him perform Cry Tough live at the Roxy in the early 70's was blown away...

I bought 2 Nils Lofgren albums in 1984 from the discount rack in the Base PX. I think I paid two dollars a piece for them. It was the best four bucks I ever spent in my life. Here I am 36 years later still enjoying the hell out of this man's artistry.

Astonishing and humble. A guitar player of this quality has backed Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young. They should be his session men! He's up there with the best guitarists I've ever heard. In the top ten I should say. Thank you for sharing.

Bruce and Neil may be good songwriters but great musicians THEY ARE NOT. The guitar part in this tune is very cool, but I personally have encountered in studios all over the world at least 200 guitarists who could play this in their sleep.....REALLY!!!! In fact if you practiced every day, you cold learn to play it,

I bought two Nils Lofgren albums in 1984 and they sustained me through a difficult time. I've been a huge fan ever since!

I had the pleasure to see him live 2 times... even that these concerts had been in the 90s, they are still among the best I have ever seen... Nils is a jewel

I wish he had played this when I saw him at Warner Theater decades ago. It gives me a new respect for his playing.

I saw Nils in 1977 in Birmingham UK. He was absolutely fantastic. Also on that night Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. So sad that Tom has gone. All my heroes are dying. I hope Nils is around for a long time. Great Utube post thank-you Jim In the UK

Same tour, saw him in Bristol. brilliant! But the volume was too high, ears were buzzing for hours...

I've lost count of the number of Nils gigs I've been to and they have all been brilliant and all different. I remember one night in a small theatre in Glasgow where it was just him and his acoustic guitar. What a night that was!

I'm a die hard Mark Knopfler and Dire straits fan Nils Lofgren has just proven to me he is one damn good guitar player. Also It sucks that The E street band makes him out for being a rhythm guitarist when he capable of so much more.

The coolest, beautiful, most ridiculously talented man on planet Earth? Seeing as Bach, Beethoven and Mozart are gone, no question mark required. How did he manage to create those symphonic guitar tune solo with just thumb and forefinger? That's mind blowingly amazing! Even four finger guitar fingerstylist will find that hard to believe. He is indeed a gifted genius of an artist. I'm glad hw shared his talent to the world! Amazing!

if you mean the technique with the index finger, it's called "harp harmonics". Tommy Emmanuel also uses it a lot but Nils is really unique for doing rock music and sing while doing that.

Seen Nils play several times Plugged and Unplugged... For me though This number is ALWAYS better unplugged. Perhaps the best version I've ever heard of this live was back in Dublin in Toners or The Olympia back around this time. Legend! Would love to see Baltimore and No Mercy live on here...

Still have "Cry Tough.: Viynal and is treasured. Personal thanks also to Nils and Tom via your music inviting me to go and see "Star Wars." Guess you dont get to be amongsr the stars, like Neil Young and Bruce Springteens for nothing. Simple , lyrical licks, phrased perfectly. Love it.

There I was trying to find reviews for a set of speakers, having listened to the reviewer speak in Thai (which i couldn't understand) for a good 5 minutes, I was determined to hear what these speakers were all about and resisted the urge to skip... Imagine my luck when the lady pressed play and my ears were graced with the sound of this masterpiece. 🤯🤯Man... what a performance

wow that is cool, I had no idea Larry did shows with Nils like this...had only seen him doing the occasional 'guitjo' parts w/Neil on the Harvest era songs, etc, and some piano on later stuff

@@blindriv3r Larry Cragg was present for most of this tour with Nils. Remember, Larry is a musician himself and not just a tech. He played in the background on many of Neil's albums and had been present on diverse tours with Neil from the 70's-2000's. He played Grandpa in the live version of Greendale in 2003 which was just recently remastered earlier this year.
