Should of use a splitter that connects to the 7 pin. No cutting stripping except the backup light. Just take the reverse white wire fron the light bar just hook it to the middle wire of the 7 point plug splitter. It works ! No need to run the wire to your tailight. Just hook it to the splitter harness in the middle.
Great improvement. Didn't know it was that easy and reasonable. Putting on the to-do list when the temps get out of the negative area. Gawd I hate winter!

How did it work out for you?
i've been eyeing the light strip and now i really want to do this.
Waiting to pick up a 22 White, Black Edition next week. I like this upgrade. Thanks for the great information.
Looks great! Would like it for my 2017! Thanks for all the content
I've seen the LED lights placed in the red reflectors also looks cool. Yeah, that reverse looks super bright 👍

Yeah, sadly cost around $250 if I remember correctly, this just cost 26 for the dual led
Very cool... you can never have enough lighting at the rear. Thanks for showing the wiring info for the harness.
Awesome, getting a new Ridgeline built soon and wanted to add a brake light strip!
Nice job, super bright reverse lights are a nice touch
Thank you for all the wonderful videos. Each one step by step. I couldn't ask for anything more! Also thank you for the giveaways!!
I have a first gen Ridgeline that I recently added a backup camera to. Seeing the brightness of the backup lights from this strip has me convinced I need to put this on my truck!
Nice work! Been looking for something like this. Especially for the backup light!
Looks Awesome! I have been thinking of adding a se to my Ridgeline for a while now, but had not seen anyone else do it. Thank you for sharing!
Looks really really nice, thank you for video/idea!
Looks great! I like that the reverse lights are so bright
Looks really good on the truck! I would love to add this to mine one day.
Awesome mod! Looks great at night. May need to consider this for when it gets darker. 👍
Just got them for my 2012 Ridgeline. Cant wait for nice weather to install them!
This is awesome ,thanks for the great video!
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. I bought the same light strip on Amazon ans was looking for a video to connect the Reverse wire. Other videos walked you through removing 1 of the tail lights and splicing that way. Your way is much better and leave the connector available if I need it to pull my trailer. GREAT VIDEO!!
I cant wait to do something like this on my 21 RTLE
Good job, Yuriy! Looks awesome! Thanks for sharing the experience.
Another great ridgeline diy video. Take offs looks cool. 👌
Great Videos! If you had to do it again, would you use a 48" version of this vs the 60" --so the 6" on right and left are not angled in?
Thank you Yuriy, for the video. I will install the same LED Tail light on my 07 Ridgeline. They looks really nice!
Just bought a used Ridgeline and think this would be a nice upgrade!!!
Im going to use the Honda connector so I will find a way to connect the reverse wire. Great video.
Next mod! thanks Yuri, I will of course wait to see if i win :P
Fantastic video! I like that this is a cost effective mod and you show the entire process really well. Thanks!
Just ordered one of these for my 2007 Ridgeline!
Great mod ...I really like the backup light function.
Sweet upgrade! Looking forward to doing this as well!
This would look awesome with my rhino dominator hitch step!
Nice, I got the the opt7 but I did not like the contradiction in the warranty between them and Amazon, for that reason I went to Putco, I will post my video tonight, awesome 👌
Wow. Well done. 👍
I've been looking to this myself on my 2017 Black Edition. Give it more of a Darth Vader vibe.
I just recently purchased a 2012 Ridgeline. I am concern there isn’t enough truck trim to make a solid long lasting stick(hold) w the Led strip. Excellent video. Tim
Nice lite strip. Love the look!
Looks really cool, great video, thanks! I'll be doing mine soon.
That is awesome!!! I need one
Very cool 😎... I'll be doing this on my 2022 Ridgeline BE when I get it in late September 👍... Any LED changes to the front?
Pretty cool. Need to watch again. Not sure I understand where the flat four connector comes into play. After rewatching I get it. LOL

Flat four connector if you do not wire direct to the harness. Then it’s just plugged into the outlet and that’s it.
this would be really cool to add to my RL hope im lucky enough to win
when i did mine, i has do but into the plastic bumper space on each end to fit it
Yuriy, good job 👍 once again. That’s a nice addition to the Ridgeline. Will you notify me when I win .😆

Sure will. 😂 As long as your name pops up on the random generator.
Thanks for another great tip.
Very sharp
Get one of your friends who work in aviation maintenance grab you some heat shrink for exterior wiring. Totally waterproof. Wrap, it grab a hair dryer, and it shrinks to fit tight. I work in aviation maintenance.

Yes, I actually may have some somewhere.
Great video, new project on list
Size does matter - there is a 49" version of this light strip which fits much better on my 2019 Honda Ridgeline than the 60" version - the 60" version overhangs the install area

@@YuriyMotso I sure did receive it and it looks like a very high quality item. Thanks again!!
That looks epic
Great video! Seems really bright!
That looks awesome. Any chance for a view from the head unit while in reverse? Certainly looks brighter. Also looks like a sad face between the tail lights and the strip lol
THANKS FOR VID AND KEEP THEM COMING!!!!
Nicely done. Not a big fan of those blue connectors myself

Yeah. Will see how it holds up. Didn’t want to cut into my harness or do major removal of the cable protection covering so this is kind of what I’m stuck with. In the event it craps out I can revert back to stock no issues. That’s kind of my thinking behind this.
I just got my truck

Looks great! If I want to just plug in to the rear plug on my 18 rtl-e would I just plug the wires into the 7 pin adaptor? Thanks
@YuriyMotso
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but you have to plug into a 4 pin adapter.
You spliced in simply so you can have the led bar and tow at the same time, correct? If not you could have just plugged it into the normal tow jack and unplug it when necessary for towing?
@YuriyMotso

Yes and yes. All preference and I show everyone how to splice in if they ever want to
What eould be the wiring for tundra 2021 I troed this sequence and didn’t work

The wiring diagram should be on the receiver cover.
Mine wouldn't stick to the truck. The adhesive was pretty poor. Even warmed up. Had to send it back.
@YuriyMotso

Mine is now probably permanently adhered to the truck lol
How did you connect the reverse light? I’m so confused.
What color tailgate light Connecting reverse line thanks answer
One more question. R these strips price point sensitive. Y pay what u get. I saw one video price point $115. Is there an $80 worth difference thanks tim
nice addition
Add a strong appearance to the truck as well as safety.

Looks great!
Great job
Looking good.
Looks great...
awesome video as always! I only have a 20 sport, so no trailer plug. Anyone knowledgeable or successful in wiring these up still?
@YuriyMotso
3 жыл бұрын
You can wire to your break lights. Same principle
Any updates?
Thanks for the video
Nice job.
Yuriy- As usual, I learned a lot from your videos. I'm a new RTL-E owner, and am trying to learn as much as I can. I've already used your oil catch can video to install this product; curious to see if a new truck will have as much oil caught. regarding the light strip, what was your source for the back up light wire, where did you attach that wire? I don't think that was mentioned in the video?
@YuriyMotso
Жыл бұрын
Thanks Art. Now your question I am not sure I understand? The product has a link in the description, and every single step to install the light is mentioned in the video. What do you mean by, "source for the back up light" and what do you mean by, "Where did you attach that wire?". Power source? If that is what you are asking then there is none. The power is gained from the splice. once the signal is flipped or brakes pressed the power is sent to the lights and in turn the strip which powers the strip.
I need this!
Hi Yuriy, how's the strip light in your ridgeline truck. Is it still working and no problem?
@YuriyMotso
2 жыл бұрын
Yep. I just checked it about a week ago. Every few weeks I inspect when I get to work just in case
Very cool! Quick question, does the excess that is being run up to where it’s visible light up as well? Just wondering if it’s shining on the ground out of you found a way to turn it off.
@YuriyMotso
2 жыл бұрын
No, just lights up on the strip that spans the gate. The harness has no additional lighting source on it. The ground was wet so there is a reflection off the ground. It will automatically turn off when the car is off and or when the sensor detects that it’s bright enough outside.
Did you use the screws they provided? If not, how is it holding up with just the tapes?
@YuriyMotso
2 жыл бұрын
No I didn’t. The tape has welded to the vehicle. It’s not going anywhere. I don’t like putting holes into my cars unnecessarily. I can always use a product to remove glue though. Goof off should take off the residue if I ever want to remove it.
Do you need to unplug the connector when you go through a carwash?
@YuriyMotso
2 жыл бұрын
Mine is hardwired but it’s weatherproof. Should hold up to carwash
Why splice? If you tow, you wont be able to see the lights, yes?
@YuriyMotso
3 жыл бұрын
Because what if I’m towing a small flat trailer that you can see. Like a dirt bike or a jet ski.
Did you happen to put the plastic clips on it? How is the cheaper sticky tape holding up?
@YuriyMotso
Жыл бұрын
No clips. The tape is now probably permanent 🤣
Looks great, good job. Have you done a review on your Husky floor mats?
@YuriyMotso
3 жыл бұрын
No I have not. I could make one if you are interested.
Is the wiring all the same for all trucks
@YuriyMotso
Жыл бұрын
Not sure. One would assume it is as it’s a universally standardized connection. Easiest way would be to check under the cap of the towing harness and it should have the connection diagram.
Aggressive look on a honda truck ?
If it doesn’t include a waterproof plug, look somewhere else.
Would never splice into original harness bad idea to much risk for a short in the future or corrosion...
@YuriyMotso
3 жыл бұрын
True. That is why I used these crimps. They do the least amount of damage and are very easy to repair to where you do not have to worry. I seen people cut their wires and solder together and that I over kill. But again this is what I did and does not mean others have to do it this way. Now At least people who want to will know how it’s done.
There’s better light bars then this one. But that’s my opinion.
@aznguyen316

which ones? looking for one
Nice but all videos pertaining to this use electrical tape. Has nobody heard of heat shrink tubing for waterproofing connections or even Posi-Taps? Sheesh!
@YuriyMotso
Жыл бұрын
I would have used it if I had some. When I was done I did wish I used heat shrink. But what’s done is done. For now.

Meh. You can add to much and make it look janky. Just my opinion.

Agreed. I do however like it as it adds extra light when backing up at night.
