Nilah it's from a time after the ruination of the Blessed Isles but way before League current age. Back in the day she was a erudite of sorts, binged every book she happened to end in her hands, so she had a lot of knowledge even before becoming Nilah (not her real name, it's the "river of fate" she mentions, she took it as her name and whole existence banished). Add to that fact that Ahsless, Lord of Joy, seems to be a fairly old demon (probs the 2nd or 3rd older).

It's probably because she has been in contact with one of the most ancient demon, Ashlesh (the demon of joy ...who is also one of the ten kings) and the fact that she has basically sold her soul to it in exchange for its powers proves it ...

Demons make you feel an extreme emotion and feed off of it. Evelynn with agony, Fiddlesticks with fear, Tahm Kench with despair and Nocturne with paranoia, to name a few. Nilah's demon only makes her feel joy. While only feeling joy is an extremely morbid reality, it's a huge edge she has in taking down other demons.

Think about the fact her entire emotional spectrum being wiped, forever chained in a state of constant joy. Watching your friends die and only being able to feel joyous bliss... eternal loneliness screaming into the empty void yearning to be remembered.

@@linhnt23 Do some researches and you'll know why they went with that. It's not by calling their name that they get defeated but knowing their basically gives you some form of dominion over them. In Morde's lore, you have to know his name if you want to deal with him but the thing is that almost no one knows it aside Nilah (her demon Ashlash), Leblanc and Possibly Swain.

The reason why i do think Nilah knows how to kill fiddlesticks is because of her connection with the demon of joy...which is Ashlesh, who is also one of the ten kings that fiddle mentions about... Also the fact that when she kills fiddlesticks...she mocks him by saying call the other 8 which proves the fact that she's killed the first of them and one of the first ten is latched on to her. Which brings me to the conclusion that demons are competitive in the terms of royalty. Because the fact that the demon of joy, Ashlesh let her kill off fiddlesticks proves it ....or maybe because she's already paid the price for his powers hence he cannot break off the deal and just watch one of the primordial demons die in front of himself.

I don't think she can kill him but knows how. There is a story that says that fiddle was "banned" and lost his "crown" and since Nilah is always happy and etc. she probably thinks that the fiddle has contact with the other 8, probably Ashlesh doesn't explain to Nilah about them , just the way to kill them.

I think she refers to the Etherfiend. It claims the masks of every embodiment death when they got forgotten or killed.

Nilah theme sound so gorgeous in the background, honestly excited to hear the full theme song

This actually really help us categorize the different demon species of Runtera: Fiddlesticks is “first of ten” and Nila tells him to send the other 8. I think we can imply from this that her demon of Joy is one of Fiddlestick’s kin, demons of pure, primal emotion Then we have demons like Tham, Nocturne, Evelin, and Raum. These are demons of more complex human emotions; addiction, paranoia/nightmares, sadism, and secrets. She calls Darkin, “fallen lords of light” giving them a strong fallen angel vibe. I should also add lesser demons like the Azakana that Yone hunts, reminiscent of Japanese demonic spirits. Dangerous in their own right but not on a global scale like the others. And I would be remiss if I failed to mention Void born, which are clearly inspired by Warhammer’s imagining of demons

Can I correct you a bit:) you're somewhat right but you're not completely aware... You're right about The theory of the ten. Fiddle was the first among the ten whereas the demon that feeds of nilah's joy is called Ashlesh(who is also one of the ten and he's also the demon of joy). This making them the primordial demons. Hence nilah is using his power since ashlesh knows about fiddlesticks' weakness and hence nilah knows it too...since she has struck a deal with ashlesh i.e. her soul in return for his powers. The other demons such as Tahm feed on Obsession, Evelynn feeds on Agony, Nocturne feeds on Nightmares...(fiddle feeds on Fear and ashlesh feeds on joy)... But you forgot about the other demons like Raum who feeds on Secrets and Shaco who probably feeds on Confusion since he's related to delirium. But then we also have demons like Tybaulk who was mordekaiser 's assistant but was later captured by the Black Rose and then was transferred to Tibbers, whom Tybaulk used as a vessel. I'm glad you mentioned about the Azakana's since they are related to strong emotions...But yes they're lesser demons and considering how shocked yone is after looking at Evelynn is for sure that Azakanas are not as strong as the other demons. And yes Darkins are fallen adcended gods themselves....darkins like aatrox got corrupted after fighting the void...as for now we know about the darkin blade(aatrox), the darkin bow(Varus), the darkin Scythe (Rhaast) the darkin Vladimir learnt blood magic from, Valeeka(Varus' sister)(whom i believe is trapped in sona's etwahl...just a theory),Ta'anari(Panther), Enakai(Tiger), Syphax(Chameleon), Zigantus(bull), Xuuyan(Turtle), Shabaka and Shabake(Twin Ravens), Moneerah(unknown), Cebotaru(Wolf), Naganeka(Snake)

They had all the different categories for demons and Shaco was in it too:). Lorefathers like Necrit and Loremothers like Tenebrix have mentioned about it as well^^

@@rrreuelmenz well here’s the sad thing about Shaco, unfortunately he’s currently in lore limbo. He was originally a serial killer with a moniker of Demonic Jester. Now he’s essentially a possessed doll but his lore still hasn’t been fit into any over arching narrative and it probably won’t until he receives some form of update. But yes, it’s clear that demons like, Fiddle and Ashleigh, thank you for the name, are by far the oldest. That’s why Fiddlesticks knows Kindred as their original form of The Grey Man, for what was the first true fear but death itself. Similarly it’s shown that Fiddle can feed off of any living being’s fear not just humanity’s. Then demons like Tahm and his ilk are newer demons, only able to exist after humanity became able to have complex vices and thoughts. Tham, Raum, and Nocturne were born of very complex emotions, and while Eve was born from suffering it was specifically from suffering brought about by war

He is the king of his own afterlife and knowing him he can probably come back whenever he eventually feels like it. Did I miss a story of his or is this character seriously fucking with good lore?

My point being that to me, in my opinion, I think it's boring to have all these incredible looking champions like Aurelion, Fiddle, Mord, Aatrox and so on, just be outdone by a bog standard design human being. Morde might be stronger than her but he is no longer that unkillable warlord. I guess if the kindred show up in front of mordekaiser he will fear them.

Kindred used to be a single death entity called the Grey Man, who split himself in two to have company. When Kindred die ingame, wolf clashes into lamb and they fuse before fading. Maybe, as they fuse, Nilah can feel the Grey Man's presence again?

It's certainly not the Grey Man (he's gone, his form becoming Lamb and Wolf) and probably not Mask Mother either, since there's no function for her appearing at that moment. It's most likely The Etherfiend, a vulture-like spirit that shows up to consume the other death spirits when they "die" (in lore, that happens when they're forgotten across the world). The Etherfiend is shown as a card in LoR, along with Mask Mother and some other related spirits.

Wouldnt be surprised if all she does is either temporary or in her mind, basically the moment she dies it all reverts. Her being forgotten by everyone would make sense as she would lie dead or paralysed and he would feed of her joy as she thinks she is defeating everyone. Demons aint stupid, Ashlesh wont just let her be the most powerful being or even a person, as he knows she would eventually come for him too.

That's probably just a part of the theme. Her full theme will probably be revealed around the time of her release and it will certainly include the upbeat part that could have been heard during her trailer. I'm really excited for her theme. Every champion theme is so good.
