I try to teach several movements of Galis to my son of 8 years. Kids must learn from this kind of player...no matter if you are from Spain. A genius is a genius.

Don't forget to explain that Galis would routinely squat with at least 330kg, had a 49" 400m and almost 8m long jump, run with 25kg vest, trained before training and after training and more.

Yes same, we also admire Spanish players. A player is a player, a musician is a musician, an architect is an architect. No need to only value people of they are from one nation. The world is a besutiful place is even better when we have open mind. I agree with you.

I had the honor to see him play live several times. What this video doesn’t relay properly was his explosiveness

Practically he was recruited by Celtics after uni and then had a risky doubtful injury befire firsr season and then with a good offer from Greece celtics agreed to let go since they though it could damage his career. They made mistake since Galis recovered.

Pelé won 3 World Cups though. That's the biggest stage. Back then European Football didn't have all the players from all over the world, the Brazilian league was the best one, it had all of their players.

Few if any realize how difficult it is for a player the height of. Gallis to nip through a whole bunch of defending 7 footers, twist and fake will- o- the wisp style and score time and again no matter the odds and stakes; Gallis did that all the time and that's what makes him better than the likes of Petrovic, Schmidt , Epifanio , Bercovic, Jamsee, Kitsanovic , Marculionis and all the rest of European top scores and also the overwhelming majority of the rest of his peers worldwide and even many NBA players then and now ; should he have been backed up by pivots of or just near the Russian , Yougoslavian, Italian or Spanish big clubs or national teams quality, he would invariably rocket Aris ,PAO and Greece to the top 3 spots in any European or World major tournament .

As McAdoo has said, Galis did things that no player did in NBA 80s. He was unique, he had a unique geoup of characteristics. Very strong legs and very very strong core. I like to think that Celtics if not the injury would have they team they already had with Galis also. It had potential to be best team in history. 2 phenomena in same team which would complement its other from different positions, and the long range of Bird plus mid range of Galis plus rhe passes of both plus the drives if Galis , and both olayers required many plywers to guard them, plus plus plus

to do justice to the legend..best euro scorer by far his stats are toping the second guy by at least 30 percent..he had a last year in college baskeball averaging 27.5 at 6.1 with 4.3 rbnds and 3.9 assists per game..27.5 fucking pnts per game averege in college bb( jordan had 20 dr j 26 isaiah thomas 16 and so on) that year 1 scorer was larry bird with 28.6 per game..alan iverson had 20..the number is unimaginable for a gaurd at 6.1..it was the prelude for how he would humiliate mercylessly anyone that tried to stop him all coaches and top euro defenders and teams..an unstoppable player by one two or even three opponents..the bias against him is because he took the best scorer tittle every time in every competition euro or fiba and shined overe all his opponents(drajen,arvidas,divac oscar and all greatest in general)..and he was fearless..show us another to enter the paint and toy around all legendary 7 footers of his era without once be stopped..a unique speciment definetely one of the best offensive unstoppable machines of all times at par only with the greatest of all times mj and dr j with a tremendous height deficit..

The best comment I' ve ever read about Nick Galis! Andreas I totally agree! Even mj was stopped in many cruical games in his glorious career, but Nick...was in a supernatural level against "giants" like Sabonis, Tkatchenko, Divac and other great players like Petrovic,Marchulionis, Kukoc, Paspalj, Dakouri, San Epifanio, Riva etc.... Just RESPECT. Great player and great personality.

Παιδια χωρις ιχνος υπερβολης ενας απο τους καλυτερους παικτες στον κοσμο.Εκτος οτι ηταν τρομερα εντυπωσιακος στο παιχνιδι του με τις τριπλες του με τα σπασιματα στον αερα ειχε ποσοστα κοντα στο απιστευτο 60% τις εκατο(για εμαν παικτη με μεσο ορο 33 ποντων με πολλες δυσκολες προσπαθειες και πολλα σουτ,δεν ηταν ψηλος.πΠραγματα που μαλλον δεν τα εβλεπαν εκεινη την εποχη ειναι οτι ηταν εξαιρετικος πασερ εδινε απιστευτες πασες και ευκολα καλαθια και δεν ηταν καθολου ατομιστης μοιραζε πολυ την μπαλα και διαβαζε πολυ καλα το παιχνιδι.Επισης ηταν πολυ καλος αμυτικος απλα δεν εβγαζε αυτο το παθος στην αμυνα που ειχε ο Γιαννακης.Θα μπορουσα να γραφω ολοκληρα κατεβατα για εναν παικτη που ζωγραφιζε στο παρκε οι κινησεις του ακομα και ο τροπος που απλα μπισταγε την μπαλα ηταν σκετο ποιημα.Εν κατακλειδι ο γκαλης στην εποχη του συγκρινεται με ελαχιστους παικτες παγκοσμιως στα δαχτυλα του ενος χεριου.Υ.Γ Σ ευχαριστω γιατι οταν επαιζες ημουν μικρο παιδακι και μου χαρισες απιστευτα συναισθηματα,χαρη σε σενα παιζω μπασκετ ακομα και σημερα εχω αντιγραψει τις τριπλες που ακομα και σημερα δεν σταματιουνται και διαφορα αλλα,μου δωσες τοση αγαπη για το αθλημα και βρηκα και γω καπου να ξεφευγω να πηγαινω να παιζω μπασκετ και να μπαινω μεσα σ αυτοβτο μαγικο κοσμο,ονειρο μου να σε δω καποια στιγμη απο κοντα

Galis is like Wilt. He would average as many points as he decides to average, then one year, he might lead the Euroleague in assists. In fact, if you don't know, he does. Galis has the record for most assists in a european game with 24.

Good point. Nowadays, after Yiannis came Jokic, abd they have been forced to relearn the game from european players. Basket is still a sport in Europe, not just a product, that needs dunks and threes all the time in order to sell...

Υπάρχει ένα μικρό gather step. Δε γνωρίζω αν σφυριζόταν τότε. Πιθανότατα σήμερα να δινόντουσαν βήματα στην Ευρώπη. Στο NBA σίγουρα όχι. Οι κανονισμοί για τα βήματα ερμηνεύονται κατά το δοκούν από τις διάφορες λίγκες γιατί δεν είναι σαφές πως ορίζει ο καθένας το τέλος του dribbling. Είναι δηλαδή ενσωματωμένο το πρόβλημα και λύνεται μόνο με....εγκυκλίους.

Surely there must be a better demonstration then the clips I saw of this Superstar most of them and I mean most of them were basically layups. There were,in his defense.... not enough hard to replicate moves in this video too justify the stardom this cat supposedly could produce. Now as far as a European player compare the moves that Manu Ginobili created on the court is how this guy is described with mastering the Sham God.... the clips threading the needle in between Kobe and LeBron and other NBA players countless times in terms of Euro players the list is endless on the magic ginobili could produce only he was asked by the coach to come off the bench which erase any of the stardom feature advertisements he could manufacture.
