Mark is so special. He loves what he does and shoots every day. His photography skills seem to improve by the day as well. Having spent a few days shooting with Mark, I got to experience the passion he has for the animals, life, the environment and photography. Here is a guy that talks the talk and walks the walk so well, but his storytelling skills are the icing on the cake. It is so engaging and honestly, you lean a lot while glued to his story. I learned that Mark is an author of many books which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who watches his video storybooks. These are the best Skimmer shots I have seen and the story about the mystery bird is one that makes photography so much fun. Please share his work with your friends and subscribe. You don't want to miss any of his posts. Mark is a very special fellow that makes me want to run out and shoot more and more......and I do. Thanks Mark for another great story with amazing photographs.

You took this shortly after buying my 500mm lens and man, you are skilled my friend. You deserve the all the cred your getting, amazing shots and tac sharp! Rob

The part of the photography process you are focusing on in this video is "the unknown" piece. It may be probably my favorite part of this great hobby. You just never know what is behind the next branch or around the bend. You did a great job (as usual) of leading us through the unknown! Almost like being there but reality kicks in when I look outside my window at the freezing rain falling. I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen to often in Florida, eh? Ya, you guessed it, I'm from Canada.

Hey Mark awesome video and photos as always! On the mystery bird, I'm almost positive that it is a Tricolored-Snowy egret hybrid. The legs, elongated neck feathers and behavior are those of a Tricolored. Orbital skin, color, beak and eyes are that of a Snowy, also some behavior traits as well. Also these two species are similar in overall size so it would be more likely than say a Little Blue Heron because it is considerably smaller. Cross breeding between species is a bit more common in smaller Families (Warblers, some Woodpeckers, etc) But in larger less evolved families such as Herons, Egrets and others, it is less common so that was an amazing opportunity you got to see that animal!

Thanks for another great video Mark. I think the mystery bird is probably a Leucistic Tricolored Heron, I recently got images of a Leucistic Great Blue Heron in one of our local marshes. Leucism is a condition that affects birds where there is a lack of color pigment in some of there feathers. The images with the GBH and the snake are incredible. Great work and I always look forward to your video. I will try to find your email address and I will forward a copy of the image of the Leucistic GBH.
