This was definitely one of the best reviews I've seen on KZread, being out on the streets in an interesting place using the thing with good information and sample images, with higher quality video/sound than I've seen in most places, etc. Reviews should always be like this, although it could be a lot of work to maintain such high quality for every review.

I have to admit that the first time I saw your videos I thought you were ridiculous, but then I understood your sense of humor and began to like every and each of your reviews. Wow, this review was awesome. and from reading some of the comments i see i'm not the only one who loved it. I guess it was the powerful combination of : great technical info (lots of specs that give us a precise idea about the d810), shooting tips( use your bag for stability, offer money and photos to the break ddancers) and being out there in the street shooting, and encountering people. i really love your channel, never miss a show, but i must say this episode was special.

Awesome job on this video. Great to see you guys raising the bar on the already great content you were putting out.

I just got back from warsaw and those dancers were so awesome! Their show were awesome no matter I didnt understand a word! I felt in love to warsaw, expecially the "walking street" old town to centrum. And btw. Great video!

After watching this, I am convinced that I will be upgrading from my D7000 to a D810 come Xmas. This review was sick sick sick. Many thanks Fro 👍👊

Beautiful camera, beautiful pictures....the pictures say it all. I haven't always been a fan of your vids, Jared, but this is your best you've ever done. I have no problems with Nikon; I'm just too invested in Canon to switch.

Well, well, well done, Jared. The first review of that camera that I didn't bored me. Best of all: it wasn't fonboy-ish and finally I could see some images coming out of it without the weird colors that I witness a lot by a couple of other Nikon shooters. Now I'm convinced that it's the user not the camera who does this.

Looking forward to the D750 review in the same style as this review.

You can actually save focussing modes individually for AF-S and AF-C. It's somewhere in the menus. Would have to dig for it when I get home.

Its kinda a shame that I have been ignoring this channel for a while because of all the teaser videos and click bait type things. I almost passed this one up but it goes into some good detail. This is the kind of thing I originally signed up for this channel when I was first getting serious about photography as a hobby. DRTV and Matt Granger don't really use the heavy push to try to get views so I always look forward to those like I used to look forward to this channel.

Jared has the best personality of anyone in the photography community and he offers hundreds of hours of free material... As somebody who had a mere 4,000 subscribers to my tech channel in the past, the amount of time and effort Jared puts into this FREE channel is astounding and I think he can use whatever strategies he wants to get us to watch. But I agree, this is also the type of video I'm subscribed for.

I don't really know how Jared's videos usually are... but I'd love to see more videos like this one. It was great. Very impressed, and I'll definitely pay attention to his future reviews.

Amazing video! It was almost like a city tour. Loved the ending

forgot to mention how awesome the new shutter sounds and feels, much less vibration than with the previous 800 versions.

Regarding the battery grip: I completely agree with you. Even if you do not need the extra battery (I don't), the grip makes it so much easier to shoot vertical when you are using heavy "Trinity" glass. Peace.

This video is definitely worth a like, very informative about the D810 in everyday use. Also, very entertaining!

Great review. I have a question. If you have the battery grip, does it shot 7 or 5 frames per second in fx?

This was actually pretty good, man. I like these "real world" reviews.

Just noticed you use your left eye to look through the viewfinder. I do so, too, but I've seen most people using their right eye, which seems to make more sense since you have more room for pushing buttons with your right hand and do not have the whole camera on your nose, and felt kind of weird using my left one even though it was a reflex and seemed natural to me. Good to know I'm not alone.

About your issue with the focus modes, I wish the D810 could save profiles for your settings. That way you could save one for AF-S with single focus mode and one for AF-C with group area AF and quickly switch between them. My D7000 has that feature, I don't really use it though because I almost always shoot with the same settings. But I think this would be a useful feature for a pro who wants to switch quickly for action shots.

Hey Jared! This video was amazing and very useful. I'd would love a video for true beginners that are just getting into the cameras and the photography, that'd be great!

Hi Jared Is the d810 going to out perform a d7500 in landscape/long exposure work. I have a d7500 and I’m actually getting good results but yup the age old question ...megapixel v iso performance Is this camera good still now

Great review Jared. One thing though, I think when you're slowing down footage, you want to be more than doubling the frame rate with your shutter speed. On the footage you slowed down there was still some motion blur. Not sure if it's that's THE way to do it, but it seems better when there's no motion blur in slow mo shots to me.

You want motion blur.... If you don't have the blur it looks jittery and unnatural.

Do more of these videos please. I appreciate Rawtalks and I do watch them, but in several instances the talks were lengthy and not to the point. This type of videos got me hooked to your channel in the first place. I like seeing your photography work and how you actually shoot as I comprehend better this way. I have been learning a lot from you for years now and I do shoot RAW. Thank you for all your efforts. I really appreciate them.

the in camera audio is actually really good for what it is! I'm surprised. pleasantly, even.

I'm still shooting with a D300s and have been for like 4/5 years now. I'm about to upgrade to FX but it's hard to find something with similar dials (such as the single, group AF switch and the CSM AF switch) I wish they didn't have the liveview switch

Hi, i love your tutorials and reviews i got canon 1 D mark ii n with the plastic fantastic (50mm-1.8f) im a begginer and i thought its the best quality for the price (300$ used without lends) can you please make a toturial for that camera its a pro camera and i dont know all the stuff in there, thanks

the pictures are actually really good on this camera... should i get this camera or thre canon 5DsR??? cause the thing is that this doesn't have wifi or gps but at same time i don't know if the canon have it too...

I learned that my D3100 had a monochrome feature from one of your videos which then I started to shoot some black and white. Just curious, for the black and white shots in this review, were they like that from the camera? or did you do that in post production?

I have to give you credit when credit is do, enjoyed the video, nice job, it's nice to see you acting like an intelligent person speaking to adults without any un needed junior high school antics, and judging by the other comments, I think your viewers agree that this was one of your best videos, I just wish you did some night time high ISO shots, the D810 is a really sweet camera, the image quality looks top notch, it's probably the best full frame camera on the market, I just wish Nikon put out the same camera in a mirrorless that was 400 grams lighter, and with a fully articulating touch screen, when you were shooting the video I thought to bad he doesn't have the Tamron 24/70 f2.8 with VC you could've had image stabilization, also I have shot my entire photography life without a vertical grip, and I am totally comfortable without one, and prefer to not have the extra weight and size, I would rather just carry an extra battery around

Great review Jared, Nikon D810 sounds like a great camera but I'm just not sure I need 36 megapixels so it might be the Nikon D750 for me.

what kind of picture control setting do u use? like it so much

Just a quick note, the reason DSLR cameras doesn't let you record more than 29 minutes of continuous video is because if a device allows you record for a longer period, then it becomes a video camera. In Europe, this means you need to pay a special tax that can go up to a 1000$ per unit and companies prefer to simply limit the recording time so they don't have to pay anything.

I wish there was a north-american version of the firmware without the limitation !

The Video on The 750 and 810 seem to have a slight lag. I have read that some movies in Hollywood were shot with these cameras. Am I missing something here ? It gives it a slight animated video appearance. With these high end cameras I would not expect this ? Help me understand as I am about to purchase one of the 4 your show in your breakdown of features probably as you say leaving out the D4s as it is just too expensive. I had rather have a good one of the other 3 and some good glass.

Jared, I have been doing party/event photography for a while now but I have gone from D3300 to D7100 and now want to go to full frame, I don't want to have to buy a new camera for a long time, what would you recommend from nikon?I want to keep my D7100 as it would be good to have both for shooting events. I will hopefully branch into weddings in around a year as my skill develops, thanks.

Jared Polin Nice images! I just wanna know (if you don't mind) what picture control did you use with those photos?Was it Vivid by chance or you just made some adjustments on post-processing?

One thing i have never heard mention of in any videos about the Nikon d810 and something i have noticed is how beefy the battery is! It pushes probably about 30% more then other cameras from my understanding... I spent a full day out shooting filled a 64gig card and only lost 2 battery bars... I believe there is 5 or 6... This camera is the tits... I was gonna get the d750 but everywhere was sold out and so i sprung for this and i am glad i did!

Which one do yo recommend me for video? the nikon d810 or the blackmagic production camera 4k

I think this is closer to the camera store style imo but there is nothing wrong with that as the format provides really good information while not being an overload. Good stuff Jared.

Nice Review Jared. Firstly how is Lil. Prayers for her speedy recovery. Coming t the D810 awesome review. Many of us out here confused which one to go for D81 or D750 as some pro and enthusiast like me. Surffice to say the D750 has borrowed all what u have saif from D4s N D810 like (D810vs D750better has a star) 36mpx8/24.5mpx, ISO64*/100, Speed 1/8000*/1/4000, No OLPF*/AA Filter, Fixed screen/Tilting Screen*, Pro Like size n metal body / Pros & enthusiast Monocoque, CAM 3500FX -2Ev vs CAM 3500FX II AF* -3EV sensor, etc. So much so confuses people like us and looking forward from u for the D750 review, comparison & suggestion.

Also wanted to add, at low ISO, the D810 has really clean images, even after pushing certain sliders further than you normally would. e.g., some adjustment brush work and really pulling a lot out of the shadows, while also really pulling the highlights down, adding a small amount of contrast, boosting saturation. If someone could release a firmware mod along the lines of magic lantern in order to allow for raw video recording, I bet we can get quality at or beyond the level of the RED epic (when it comes to 1080p video) www.flickr.com/photos/hamster768/15311280247/

How well does the af system works for video recording with the D810? Is it good for tracking moving objects? Is it smooth?

Jared, that part where two guys just came over and you said "yes can I help you?", that cracked me up. Can you tell me what happened there? Why did they come over?

Hey Jared The photos of the guy with the balloons, at around the 3.00-3.10 minute mark - are the straight from the camera, or have they been edited?

What in your opinion is Nikon's best walk around lens? How about 3rd party lens?
