Same here. :D I'm mostly interested if the "color science" (hate that term) compared to the D3 is different.

14 years later and i got a D3 for 250 bucks lol. Thank goodness for mirrorless!!

I own a Nikon D750 and I really enjoy shooting it but I could not pass up a used Nikon D3S last month for $470. This gives me a second full frame camera for what a D3XXX kit costs and adds 9fps for sports or action shooting. It had 150K on the shutter that is rated for 300K. You are right about bodies losing value. The only concern I have is if it breaks it is gone. No parts and no repair from Nikon on discontinued equipment. Keep up the good work.

I made this video over 2 years ago at this point. But for 1900 bucks a d3 is pretty good.

Wow dude I did not think it was you, where even shooting in raw back then? I have a D300 and was thinking of going to the d3 because my daughters play soccer. I shoot raw sometimes if I have tricky lighting, I edit the nef on my iPad Pro and pretty good results. Fro knows photo is a great tag line

Nikon d3 is excellent at 2400. Very good at 3200. Okay & manageable at 6400. If somebody is shooting portraits with strobes.....outdoor photos......at 200 iso. Bounce speed light shots at 1600 iso.......no need upgrade. If event photography & indoor sports is main business Nikon d3s make sense

Continuous mode the d3 or d3s will not refocus on shutter priority. It has to be focus+shutter priority mode as long as you have your finger pressed

Hey Jared! You're the man who can help me out with this... I own a D7000 and I'm thinking to upgrade to FX format. How will you compare the ISO between the D7000 & the D3?? Does the newer DX perform better than the older FX camera in ISO?? How big the size prints can I get from a 12.1 megapixels camera? I can't afford a D3s right now, an used D3 maybe... Thanks!

D3 is a great camera sells for 1400-1600 US dollars on ebay some greedy ones expect to get 1800 or more for this cameras they are crazy,although its a great camera its too old,get the D800 for $1800 instead or D700 for $1000 or $1100 , D700 is a hair behind of the D3 in quality picture,or get the D3s for $2500 or $2600 instead

Hello Jared, as a regular viewer of your videos and * sniff * tests i'd like an advice on a camera. Is the d3s worth the extra money over d3 if im only to shoot low light photos only? where i live i get a nearly mint d3 for about 1900$ and d3s for about 3000$ which is ALMOSt double the money just for an extra stop, you think its worth it? or i may be able to get a better price on a d3s used?

In 2022 Nikon D3 350-550. Nikon D3s 500-700. D3 is looking really good with some bumps and scrapes for $350 with 150k clicks. Both the D3 and D3s is rated for 300k, and I have yet to hear of anyone having one fail before 450k. For me the D3 makes good sense to get a Pro body for under $400 with a tank of a build that can be thrown around for a few more years.

You were MUCH MORE tolerable before, even enjoyable.
