A lot of people forget that Tesla also formed a great band in the 80s with some top ten hits.

Well he was so smart he would know (if he figured it out) how the first phone would most likely need to be made in order for it to work. He is an inventor and understands how most things would/should work and need to be assembled in order to operate, so I'm not surprised he was quite accurate in predicting the functions and purpose of such an invention.
