What if I told you Denver led in points in the paint 54 v 54, 2nd chance points 18 v 8 and also led in fastbreak points 21 v 14. Usually the side that is more impactful in the paint gets more foul calls, unless you're the Lakers then every contested missed shot is called a foul regardless whether the player is touched or not.

I've been applying what Jokic and Aaron Gordon do in pick ups. I'm 6 foot 5 240 and Jokic just uses his body to create space and get shots over more athletic defenders like AD and LeBron. And Aaron Gordon is a beast with his off ball action and operating out of the dunkers spot. Combing Jokic's big dude game with Aaron Gordon cutting has made me much more effective even though I am built more like Jokic than Gordon.

Athleticism is way overrated. Jokić is not the first guy to prove that. Defensively it holds value at least, but offensively all you really need to be effective is skill and IQ.

Jokic ranks high in scoring inside the paint this season, and he did so in this game as well. And I got 2 FTs. And this season, the Lakers and Denver have only a 1fg difference in scoring within 5 feet. There is no reason for the Lakers to get several times more FTs.

I am a nuggets fan. with that said the Nuggets will need to play well all four quarters if they are to beat the Timberwolves. That is a much better team than LA. While the nuggets are clutch when needed, I think it will be much harder to come back from double digits going forward. I think Murray has been struggling early in the games recently (wondering if he's injured and playing through It, which is commendable). Praying that he is well and on fire in the next series.
