I'm seeing a lot of comments about Svetlana's performance (rightfully so, it's the focus of the video and it's bloody amazing), but halfway through, all I could think about was that poor guy who had to spend the entire scene holding a shield in front of his face, and not moving a muscle. I don't know who you are, but you deserve some recognition for potentially one of the most thankless performances on stage.

svetlana broke my heart into pieces :( such tragic story and perfect portrayal...

That’s pure beauty strength & poetry. I have yet to see a more mesmerizing interpretation of this solo. Simply exquisite.

Adoro Svetlana Zakcarova quando interpreta Nikya's death. Il suo corpo affusolato è particolarmente adatto a questa interpretazione dove disegna linee pure ed allungate in un'armonia di grande effetto dove il virtuosismo la fa da padrone per la complessità di questo secondo atto e poi la sua interpretazione qui è commovente, danza anche con il viso e con lo sguardo!!! È eccezionale come lo è Marianela Nunez anche questa ballerina dal corpo allungato e flessuoso é fantastica nell'interpretazione di Nikya .

Svetlana Zakharova 跳此蛇舞,可以作為今後的經典舞蹈教材例子 ! 這是她年青時跳出的最好作品. 相信今後無人能超越她在這個舞蹈的演譯. 我看過她在35歲時,重跳此同一舞蹈,可惜再無當年勇,歲月無情,奈何 !!

A lot of people don’t think that this is her best character and I think it’s her best character because as great as she is as the White Swan her black swan isn’t as good as a lot of other people’s black swans. I think her Nikiya is flawless because in the essence of this story she has a truly pathetic character and that she has absolutely no agency whatsoever over her own fate. She is just this vessel for everyone else’s ideas and desires and she’s really just this vision for everyone else especially Solor. When I say pathetic I am talking about it in the classical Greek sense. And here she is just a really perfect, not just in the fact that her hyper mobile, super ridiculously hyper extended, banana feet and exaggerated lines are also well suited to the choreography reconstructed by Mkharova after Petipa, but because she is the essence of who this character actually is in the story, a pawn in the game of other people who has no real motive of her own other than to be used and abused by others

Svetlana is pretty tall though her weight to height ratio makes her look super thin She about 5,9 I believe.

@@creamii7017 yeah, but you can definitely tell an unhealthy bony versus this is my body type bony. She is unhealthy. Check out her other videos. She used to look like a normal skinny person. Now she looks like she's been dieting too much, or working too much.

This is a very physically taxing role, it is evident in her performance the immense effort she puts in everyday as a dancer. One of the best in the word.

Thinness is demanded of ballerinas, both for the aesthetic (elongation) and to minimize the load on their feet given the unhealthy poses ballet involves.

I don't see true emotions in this ballerina, just great poses.. But is like I see in every moment that she is acting, there is never a moment in which I forget she is svetlana and I see only nikya.. In every ballet, she only plays roles, don't became the girl in story.. Sorry but can't like her at all..

i personally don’t think nikiya is svetlana’s best character, however her odette and odile are remarkable. there’s clearly a contrast in the way she interprets them.

@@angela-kv9de in spite of everything I think Nikia is a good character in her repertoire..of course she is a good ballerina, and of course is a good swan, nikia etc.. but I don t agree all this supremacy that russian give her.. like she is another absoluted ballerina.. she is considered the best they have, but I think that Russia has a lot of dancers that are better of zakharova, maybe not with her physicals skills, but with true emotion and more fluidity.. I dont say that she doesn t interpret but for me her interpretation is false, and built for the stage, and I see like a sussection of poses.. I prefer in bolshoi dancers like Kaptsova, Shipulina, Stashtevich, kretova...only to say someone.. but she is considered the diva.. I dont understand why.. this model of perfection so distorted and false..
