Well street skating is more freedom. Competition she gotta be in the zone and it’s more pressure trying to land every trick knowing hundreds of thousands are watching and the thousands of people in the crowd. So of course she is happier in the street around her homies.
That heelflip front board was awesome! Love to see it
The girls are really stepping it up style wise.

She's done so many contests.. It would be so cool to see her skating the streets, just goofing around. She's literally the most impressive women's skater & she's only 15-16 wtf? There is so much happiness there and I'd hate for contest skating to burn that out or hold her back. IMO she's earned her ability to be able to go live skate free around the streets. It's crazy her skill level and potential she continues to have. Plus, the most legit style ever. Really happy to see the success she's having and her attitude and outlook on all of this.. It's not easy. Only rare unique people can handle this kind of stuff and rise to the occasion

I agree that she has put in an insane amount of work and it would be cool to see a girl with her current skill and future potential really dedicate time to street part. However I think it would be a disservice to herself, girls competition skating and girls skateboarding in general if she fell back from contests right now. She’s just finally getting the power in her legs of a grown female and you can see the difference in her trick selection now that she has stronger legs. She’s the only girl you see throwing Tre flips in a run cuz the other girls don’t have the strength or muscle memory to get that board all the way around like that. We also see her switch and nollie came growing. She literally sets a new bar for girls skating with every contest appearance. Imagine what her runs and best tricks will look like in 3-4 years. She will be doing stuff that girls never thought possible before her. That’s how girls skating evolves as a whole, by seeing someone else do something that was previously thought of as not possible. I think taking her foot off the gas now would be a shame

@@EDCsteals I understand that contests are very important for women's skating & she will have some of the biggest impact on that. It's just frustrating because the current skate content scene is SO DULL and bland.. It sorta pushes people into specific directions and doesn't really reward creativity and thinking outside the box. Which is the complete opposite of what street skating is capable of. Especially if you travel and skate a ton of different unique spots and obstacles.. She's already earned so much, cemented her name in the contest history books that in my opinion she has earned the ability to go off and do some creative skating. She can still come back and do contests anytime she wants but I wouldn't want her to be stuck in that rigid box her whole career (if that makes sense?)

@@benmcreynolds8581 I don’t disagree with what you’re saying I just think she should continue on the path she’s on at least for a few more years. Her body isn’t even fully grown quite yet. Her style plus her already amazing ability will skyrocket when she has longer and more powerful legs. This ain’t like 20 years ago when a skater hits their late 20’s they’re pretty much done skating hard. Skaters are finally treating their bodies like Olympic athletes do and are focused on longevity. Imagine when Rayssa is able to push around the course with the power like Pamela Rosa does. We are just seeing the beginning stages of Nyjah but female. Let says she continues skating contests with the same dedication as she has been for another 5-6 years, by that time she will only be 21 and has another 20 years of enjoying skateboarding as she pleases. Even now you still see guys like Geoff Rowley, Chris Cole, Mark Appleyard, hell even Jamie Thomas still skating on a daily basis. They come from the era where exercising and eating healthy was looked at as weird and they’re still out there(obviously not like their prime but still enjoying skating). With the current group of elite skaters they’ll likely still be able to skate at an extremely high level well into their 30’s and then a more chill approach for another 10 or more years. I get that she likely doesn’t get to chill and do as much regular teenager stuff like most girls her age but that’s what separates regular people from the few that dedicate their lives to their sport. If you watch her interviews she’s not doing this cuz someone else wants her to, she says herself she’s competitive in everything she does. Some people are just built for this and enjoy working hard day after day. Would I like to see her have a full length street part and start the trend of girls dedicating time to street parts like the guys do, of course. However I think she can manage both at this age. Nyjah did it and still is doing it. He’s dominated contests for the last 10 years and he has some of the best video parts that have ever dropped
