On the first night the crowd chanted "Henkie, bedankt!, Henkie, bedankt!" (Thank you, Henk) after the song. That was so cool!

Henk Poort is a real opera/musical singer. He used to play the Phantom in the dutch version of the musical and Floor has confessed being a big fan of him since the first time she saw the musical back in the days when she was a pre-teenager. They met one another on a TV show called Beste Zangers that took place in 2019. Floor wanted to sing that song on the show which he accepted on one condition : He would join Nightwish on stage for that song next time they would perform in the netherlands. Then Covid happened and all gigs were delayed but last October the european tour finally took place and this happened, as promised. The connection betweeen Floor and Henk is very special, they both have utter respect and admiration for each other and they both push each other to new highs : Floor's operatic performances have never been that good while Henk learned how to add some gritt, some distorsion to his voice, which is the very opposite of what opera singers do

How can Floor possibly hold that last note. So constant, so even, so perfect.

First time in over 17 years Nightwish performed this. Making it the first time with Floor, as well as with Kai, Jukka K, and Troy.

Things I love about this video: Absolutely everything! From Floor's STUNNING voice, so ethereal, and her body language, how she starts slowly, but it makes her part a lot more theatrical. Like she is so immerse on Christine's character, then THE (Dutch) PHANTOM himself comes out and the crowd ROARS in excitement to see him, plus Tuomas' smile when he sees Henk, and Henk rocking the song, THOSE VOCAL FRIES my goodness! LOVED to see him wearing a metal ocker-ish outfit with the Nightwish t-shirt, AND THEEEN! The famous "SING FOR ME!!" Followed by that 12 SECONDS!! Beautiful high ass note!! I imagine that emotions must have been at their peak at the end of the song; everyone, from the band to the crowd. My goosebumps had goosebumps. Henk will always be my favorite Phantom. Such a talented vocalist with an amazingly powerful voice.

This was a total surprice for the crowd, NW didn t put it on the setlist ;-)

For me and many others not really. Many Attenders on the second night already knew what happened the first and besides that there was the promise from Beste Zangers that Henk would join NW as they would perform again in the Netherlands….

Not at all a surprise but a promise that was made public since 2019 on Beste Zangers. Every Dutch fan was aware that Floor had made this promise to Henk Poort and hoping that Floor would deliver on her promise.

It was not a surprise.. We already knew that they going to sing that in Amsterdam from the tv-program "beste zangers" back in 2019 but it was always postponed because of covid..

@@geedewa , thank you, I just couldn’t understand those there saying it was a surprise, while I’ve known it for a really long time sitting in the USA. I can see those that didn’t know the story from Beste Zangers didn’t know it, & can see how NW might have hoped it might be a surprise for some if they tried to keep it under wraps. I have commented on reactions it was coming at the Amsterdam concert.

I was very, very lucky to be there on both evenings and seeing this live in Floor's, Henk's and my own homecountry was something very special! Floor has been a fan of Henk since she saw him in the Dutch version of The Phantom, 30 years ago, so performing with him with Nightwish was a dream come true. We could feel that in the crowd. They just love singing together. Floor also does The Phantom with Henk in her solo shows and I've seen them together several times now, but this version together with Nightwish was the cherry on the cake.

Those two are electrifying together and I do get a kick out of your reactions!

Been there and hoped it would be true. At Beste Zangers this was the highlight and at one of her first solo shows, just before Covid kicked in she and Henk performed it as last song and the roof went off. And now, seeing and hearing them with Nightwish, chills after chills and on top goosebumps. What a performance and the crowd cheered when Henk came on stage.

Damn Henk, what a legend! I always thought he only did the Phantom with Floor in a duet, but i never knew he did it with Nightwish! 😮

No matter how many times I watch this video, it gives me chills all over. It was so great that they were finally able to do this together and that end note of Floor...Floorgasm!!!

Yeah, that's the only way to treat this amazing artwork... Watch it again and again and again. Floors delicat and almost girlish way of singing the non verbal parts is amazing. Not even Sarah Brightman did that. As for the phonebook singing, I've only seen one reactor do that so please go ahead and do it! Your shivers makes me get shivers. Hey Jynger! There were rumors of Nightwish bringing this song back, into the Floor Era, but then Covid happened, and Marco left, so that dream seemed lost. But enter Beste Zangers and Henk, eh? Very cool! 🤘😎👍

thank you JingerSlapz! this is after the dutch show of :beste zangers: in holland, Floor asked Henk if he would do this duet with him. his answer: if we can play it when Nightwish is here in holland! so, 3 years later..... no rehearsal, only with in ears, they performed it twice, without the public knew. both evenings were some problems with electrics and not working in ears. so this video is a compilation of both evenings. that deliverd the best video great reaction, thanks, maybe you should seen the performance of The beste zangers, then you will understand greetz from holland!

I've posted on others so now for you. Saw the original phantom with the London cast in 1988 (was 17 whew god on old!) With Sarah Brightman as Christine. I never thought anyone could even come close to her vocals until I heard Floor. That's saying something in the vocal world. There's nothing that the Valkyrie Queen can not do.🌹

When you mix two superstars - you will get unique art. Incredible performance. And I totally agree - this is by far the best version ever! - even better than the version Floor did with Russell Allen..

This is great. What is not shown in this video is the positive reaction of the band at the end towards Henk. Floor sings gorgeous, as always, but for Henk it is out of the box. When they did the song in Beste Zangers, he had to learn the gritty voice, as tribute to the metal genre, a no-go for classical singers but he did not disappoint.

Great reaction! This was different arrangement of the song compared to how they performed it on Beste Zangers and her solo show. This is the same arrangement that Nightwish used back in the day with Tarja and Marko. It is slower and more dramatic in the beginning and Floor is rounding her vowels more to get that dark operatic tone. In Beste Zangers and her solo show she was using a more forward placement of her voice to get that brighter musical theater tone. Also in the last section she holds the same pitch for 3 notes where in Beste Zangers she only holds for the same pitch for two notes before hitting the top note. Tarja did the same thing so I assume that is how Tuomas wrote the vocals in that part. Love all of their performances of this song, each of them giving us something different to savor.

Night wish rarely do non Tuomas numbers so when they do it’s something special. And a guest performer, also a rarity. Put the two together and it’s a potentially mega event. And this DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Nightwish’s previous interpretation, with Tarja and Marco, best part of two decades ago, was brilliant, but Floor and Henke just went and eclipsed almost 35 years of Phantom performances.

There are some people who say Anette cant compete with Tarja or Floor, but in this song Anette show me so much epicness and i love her version of scaretale so much.

I do agree, but not because of Tarja's vocals in that version! Floor's ending in her versions is always more sustained. But the real treat is Marko ( sorry, Henk) 🤘🏻😁

You probably never will. But it is something more then her voice alone. It is the way she sings, the way she makes you feel the song, the way she radiates her passion and joy she has for her profession. Just amazing to watch. Even when she is not singing she is just a joy to watch and listen to. But apparently it hasn't the same effect on you. That's fine. Nobody can please anybody.

@@huubdonkersteeg2408 Floor i very talented no doubt, but…for me she don’t have that dark, gothic, mystic auora like Tarja in contrast with great operatic singing style. And I know for sure it’s many years ago Tarja left the band but I still prefer the original line up of Nightwish. After Tarja I don’t even bother anymore.

I’m getting so fed up of people comparing the two wonderful singers. They differ, get over it! Either your preference is with Tarja or with Floor but one is not better then the other! Now Floor reigns as front woman for Nightwish and Nightwish is more popular then it ever was. That says it all!

@@Mr.Green627 I did not compare and why do you assume I’m from the US? I’m Dutch. As for Tarja, my opinion is that she has a beautiful voice and I really do love many of her numbers but she’s no longer in Nightwish so just accept that and don’t be a sour fan. You’ve still got the older albums to listen to but I also like their newer work and I believe if Floor hadn’t stepped in when she did Tuomas might have thrown in the towel for Nightwish during that tour when Anette got sick.

There is only one Floor!!! She is the BEST!!
