The best era ❤

One of the early Nightwish standout songs from their 2nd album 'Oceanborn' in 1998... The 1997 debut album 'Angels fall first' was a studio project before Nightwish ever played a live gig... 'Oceanborn' came together a year later after Nightwish had made their live debut and done shows in Europe... Tuomas (keyboards) said it was a difficult recording process because the songs he had written needed the band to raise their musicianship to be able to play the songs... Tarja (vocals) was truly blossoming as a singer on this record; she was only 18/19 when she recorded the 1st Nightwish album... and her range was incredible on 'Oceanborn'. The 3rd Nightwish album 'Wishmaster' in 2000 actually got them signed in America and established their musical style up til that point.

FYI Tarja also sings this with an Orchestra with drums. Its from the concert called Beauty and the Beat. FYI Tarja has an album of Ave Maria.

Her voice can take me away

Yes ...this is from year 2000 when NW had their original singer and founding member on. Much later came the substitutes and replacements to her. They have the original bass player as well plus drummer naturally. This very concert made them a big step more famous by wider audience cause they made a DVD too.

Have this DVD. Back-to-back this and Elvenpath, listening those again and again and again.....

This was from Wishes to Eternity Decembrr 29, 2000. The 3 albums and an LP Over the hills and far away were out. The venue is a club in Tampere Finland. The lineup often called #babywish Tarja (taa ree aa) is a mezzo soprano. The others are right about her style Keerp in mind techonolgy and Tarja have kept improving over 25 years. Her solo work will blow you away.❤❤😊

Exactly. even though Floor is really great, but this magical/mystical feeling they only had with Tarja. Of course the whole atmosphere of this concert did maybe also a part to that, i still prefer it way over "End of an Aera".

The show that this video is part of is all good. Nightwish's first live DVD where its essence was even more "simple". It's still the one I like the most. Tarja's best phase. My recommendation for another ballad song from this same show is 'Dead Boy's Poem'.

National bird of Finland is whooper swan... just a thought.

One of my absolute favorites, especially the ending part where Tarja sings together with Emppus guitar is just sooo beautiful 🥰😍 And even though i also really love Floor .. this is for me just magical, and this kind of magic they only had with Tarja. And this is the OG Nightwish, i knew them already for 2-3 years when this DVD was released, but this was the first time i saw them live in persona on stage, and today is still love this concert sooo much. Other suggestions : mostly everything from the "From Wishes to Eternity" concert, but maybe start with "Walking in the Air", "She is my sin", "Dead Boys Poem", "Deep Silent Complete".

How about tribal song. Have you seen that yet? Lulu, you are awesome!

I have a weakness for this era, but I love it all. Everything they do is exceptional. Tuomas writes beautiful ballads

Tarja was the soul of Nightwish for a long time. There are so many great songs with her. She did a YT duet with Sharon den Adel and Within Temptation called "Paradise" that's worth listening to. Within Temptation is symphonic metal band out of Denmark that is outstanding also. Also check out Within Temptation YT of "Faster". Sharon is a spittin' image of a past girl friend of mine. Alot of great memories.
