Seeing this makes me realize even more that with the departure of Marko, Nightwish lost its most irreplaceable member... Cause when the potatoes were burning, like that Denver show, Marko could appear and save the night... No wonder that after learning of his departure, Tuomas was ready to throw everything away. I'm happy that, despite everything, the band managed to carry on, and Floor and Troy are trying their best (especially Floor). But the absence of the bearded guy is quite palpable for it to be overlooked. I hope for him to return in the foreseeable future, but I'm a little pessimistic about that

It's 2024 and for me, this is one of the band's most special songs. I think this is the only version live existing on KZread, which makes this video really precious... and even historical because that was such a challenging night for Nightwish!

Marco has an amazing voice. He killed it.

I feel like a part of me is a bit empty not getting into Nightwish earlier in my life and getting the chance to see the earlier lineups and see those shows live. I love all three singers ans their eras but it would've been incredible to see Tarja, Anette st their hey days with the band.

Marco did an amazing job as always, the situation was kinda hard and I feel bad for Anette because I love her but the band managed to stay strong and I love it

I hope you had fun. I really miss Annette too. Imaginaerum is not the same without her.

They did the right thing finding a replacement to keep the show on, but I can understand Anette's feeling. After being contested so many years for not being good enough if you replace her so easily it'll hurt her pride

Too bad Anette quit the band, Imaginaerum tour won't be the same without her. I was expecting hear the song " slow, love ,slow from the Imaginaerum album, but at least they didn't cancel the show. Show must go on!!! But i will miss Anette like I miss Tarja

This is probably one of the few times that this song has been performed live, at least as far as I know of. Pretty strange to think that they performed such a good song only when the situation was pretty bad.

Ca'canny what really makes me wonder, the 1st and only time Anette performed this song was her very last concert with the band. Kind of sad really, as someone else said somewhere, especially with the lyrics ''rest calm and remember me'' just as she has to leave. I wonder if that was intentional, Poet and the Pendulum wasnt really the most played song for any of the Imaginaerum tour and it was the song discussing how Tuomas felt after Tarja was fired, then shortly before Anette is out of the band Poet and the Pendulum was on the setlist again for a few of her last shows. I dont know if its coincidence or not but the situation here definitely wasn't the best. Also dont get me wrong, I LOVE floor but I feel it was in poor taste for the band to not talk to Anette first about what was going on, I suppose everyone has moved on for the better though.

I have feeling they 're not very good at 'sacking' lead singers. I feel exactly the same way you feel. I feel it's in bad taste, like they're kicking someone while she or he is still on the ground. That's what I feel about Bye Bye Beautiful and Master Passion Greed too. I don't want to see those songs like that way, it's open for interpretation, but I feel it's inevitable to not see them like that. For both Anette and Tarja I feel sorry because I feel both sides didn't get the closure. Anette said her herself that she wanted to talk about it with the band to get some closure. Only improvement from the departure of Anette was the way they handled it this time. No open letter, not too much details, only open for speculation. PR wise they matured but failed horribly when some songs got leaked... They still have a lot to learn.

Well i have mad props for the band and deff the bassest ( I cant remember his name atm) because hes not a lead singer at all but still tried his best to do both his parts and Anettes. With less then 90 min to prep to do so (watch "learn this setlist in 48 hours. Its amazing) he is pretty damn amazing.

Take a ook at Tarot. Marco is a lead singer, he only performs with nightwish as bassist and male vocals.

Nope. I recorded Storytime, Amaranth, I want my tears back but not complete. And Rest calm. Will be nice if they comeback to Denver to do a full show. They didn't play the whole setlist.

They were foolish to have kicked Anette out. This was one of those songs I considered hers, and one of their best, right up there with Ever Dream and other monster recordings. Who the hell does a show without their main lead singer? Postpone the show, keep her happy, tell her she is important to the group, and still have your shows when she recovers. Group stays together, and they make more wonderful music. Sigh. Now have to get used to a new singer. Who though?

I guess she quit. The problem was I think Annette got sick while kamelot was playing. At that point they can't reschedule. So for crazy that sounds the most smart thing to do was still have a show and not a dissatisfied and mad crowd. Maybe Annette got mad cause she was replaced for one night. Anyways I guess that's the problem with Nightwish.. They can't keep their girls

Well by now I'm sure you know Anette didn't quit, she was fired. ette seems to think her being pregnant has to do with it. She might be partially right. But she also was a sick a lot and had her personal relationship issues stressing her. I think firing her was a bad move, but it's easier say aterwards. At that time I think they had a lot of questionmarks will Anette pull herself back together.

It's a shame that Anette wasn't there and I still think the NW guys were pretty mean with her, but am I the only one who thinks they should have asked Elize to sing here? This song just doesn't work without a female voice :( Btw, I hope they play it live at some point of the Decades tour :)

Enzo Ponce i think would be hard to Elize sing that song without practice. She sang other songs but I think this would be hard to her cuz wasn’t very popular. I hope they sing Slow Love Slow cuz that was on the Imaginaerum setlist but cuz Annette wasn’t there they didn’t played it here in Denver

Yep, but the only song she was completely familiar with was Nemo. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember a video of her singing Storytime with a paper sheet. About SLS, yeah, it's one of my favorite songs, but it's a really iconic Anette song. They only played it a few times after she was fired and I really understand why. I don't think anyone can sing it like her.

Enzo Ponce yeah. I recorded Storytime also. Both sang it. And yeah. I’m with you. My best album of Nightwish is Imaginaerum. Annette is Imaginaerum. She own that. Don’t get me wrong. I love Tarja and Floor but all different styles.

It's the best thing that could have happened to Nightwish. After Tarja left, I lost my interest, but I've always been a fan of Floor, so this is quite satisfying :-)

So just curious. Was there NO female singer for this entire show??

Isaac Rahman it was Elize Rid from Amaranthe and Alissa White-Gluz from The Agonist in that time. They sang almost all the song that night. Except this one some couple more.

the problem is that nightwish come up with a thought on themselves without speaking to anette... she felt disappointed of them because they didn't consulted her as a nightwish member it's like she felt that nightwish doesn't care about her thoughts and ideas and like she's not one of them

yeah, but they didnt play the whole set list, but i guess was better than a cancel show

Marko's on-the-spot interpretation of the song was not ideal tbqh, but if he'd practiced beforehand to be the lead singer for Rest Calm (and several other tracks for that matter) I'd pay to hear his version properly.

This song is not the same without Anette :c but I prefer Marco as vocalist than floor :3

She quit because the band didn't accept her pregnancy. It's obvious now!
