Thanks for the dedication, Debbie! I'm glad that my advice was useful to you 🖤 This song is part of the first album recorded with Floor, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" (2015) and was never performed live by the band until recently, as Floor said. For me, it falls into the "hidden gems" category (like "Sagan" with Floor, "The Escapist" and "Turn Loose The Mermaids" with Anette). From what I understand, the band members got emotional in the studio while recording this song for the album. Now they have given us an acoustic version, probably encouraged by the public success of "How's The Heart" often performed in the acoustic version in concerts in 2022. You should know that the studio version is also very good.

The song is a ballad written for the band's parents. From the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album, band members wept while rehearsing and recording it. This is later in the current tour where they started playing this one. Earlier , they had been playing How's The Heart acoustic.

This brings me to tears again... I saw Floor performing this solo when she played a very intimite outdoor solo show last September in Hertme, the Netherlands. It was one of those magical & emotional nights you witness only a few times in a life time. My parents both passed away and I feel them so strong around me listening to this. Floor and Nightwish mean the world to me🤘❤️❤️

@The Question Queens: Debbie, this song is not just beautiful, because of Floor and the band, but it is also tragic in the sense that it is a reminder of our own mortality, of our own eventual end, just as it is for those who come before us. And reading about the recent passing of Tuomas' father, I can only imagine how much more this song means to him. For me, I listened to this song when my grandmothers, one blood to me, the other not, each passed away within weeks of each other a couple of years ago. And as I don't have children of my own, I can only hope that my nieces and nephews have the same kind of love for me that they would have for a parent when it becomes my time to leave this world. And as you have said in previous videos, you have two daughters. Show them this, and tell them that as your parents love you, that you love them. It is by living out lives in honor of those we care for, that those who care for us live their lives in honor of us.

Thank you for this lovely reaction. From their first album with Floor, Endless Forms Most Beautiful. Song had never been performed live because it made the band members too emotional. Story is that when they first tried to record her vocals, there was silence and when they checked on her she was weeping. Yes, Samantha took this song and translated it into Dutch. Floor first sang this live in her solo concert last September in Amsterdam. Best live recording of this song. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qaiC1stwlszPnag.html. In her comments on the video she mentioned that hearing Samantha perform this live inspired her to perform it live as well. I am guessing her success there inspired her to bring it to Nightwish to perform live as well.

This song (Decades In The Sun) was sung by Samantha in Beste Zangers, but the Dutch title of the song was "Ik ben altijd dicht bij jou" which is (translated to English) "I'm Always Close To You", so different interpreted/named by Samantha than the original. Btw. I also went to a Garth Brooks concert here in the Netherlands.

This is such a great, and I think underappreciated, song from EFMB. Lovely reaction! And since you love the ocean (as do I) you may like my favourite Nightwish song Deep Silent Complete which is an ode to the ocean. The version by Floor from the Decades live album is the one I mostly listen to. As usual her voice is heavenly here. Tuomas' lyrics are genius as usual too.

I Don't know what Gabriel put on his his list, but incase he didnt. Try Amaranth from Wacken '13. and FOR GODS SAKE!! pack a sandwich and a flask and get to "The Greatest Show On Earth" either Wembley '15 which has Richard Dawkins live, or Tampere which has syncronised fireworks! Wembley is my particular favourite, but the I'm British and it was my first introduction to Nightwish. There is also a reaction video on here and I think the song is "Ever Dream" which has performances by all three singers, I just can't remember who did it, but I'm sure a bit of poking around will find it. I'm typing this as you are talking about your concert going. I am as well as a lover of Rock, Blues and Metal, I am a classical musicain and I urge you to go see an orchestra. I can promise it will be an experience. Enjoy x

Apparently, it was Tidal, not Spotify; and the second most frequent was 25 not 70. He hasn't seen it yet as it is nearly 11pm here and we are up at 6am, so he is in bed, but I shall forward for him to watch. I think this is a great and beautiful song. I think what happened is that Samantha sung this for Floor. That gave Floor the confidence to do it on her solo tour. Then when they needed a song to rotate with How's the Heart as a replacement for the Islander, i.e. a song that starts acoustic and then the whole band joins, this came into view. Perhaps Nemo is also in that rotation because Floor and Troy did that acoustically too, But I haven't looked at all the setlists for the current tour.

On Troy. He got just a delicate wonderful voice that you merely hear at times, however it adds so much to the big picture. His role on last year's tour was more crucial than ever, because he had to replace Marco's vocals at least partially (yep, I know, Marco can't be replaced) and he did this really well. There is one song on the most recent album where he is the lead singer and Floor does the supporting. It a very Irish folkish song. At the beginning it doesn't sound like Nightwish and I din't like it very much .... however it was growing and growing over time and is now one of my favourite tracks on the album. You might check a version of this song which Nighwish played at their virtual concert during Covid lockdown times and where over 150.000 fans attended virtually !!! kzread.info/dash/bejne/pWiLwdR9ZLm7mKw.html&start_radio=1 All the best for you QQ Love your reactions ☘☘☘

I did try to avoid the copyright but that didn’t work. But at least it’s not blocked. I’ll go back to the other way.
