This has been my most recent favorite bat-family storyline. Love the art style, fun engagement between the characters, great plot set up with a gift from alfred and actions from a hero causing consequences to others to provide conflict. Loved this whole story!

I'm increasingly more partial to the whole thing going on with Damian, but that's because it's also Titans and Outsiders. I just wish what was going on in Markovia had been more prominent.

I still feel like there was no need for him to die.

Batman on a mission: Get's jumped and surprised, beat up, stabbed and shot. Nightwing on a mission: Constantly one step ahead and outsmarting his enemies, backed up by the fastest guy in the universe, wearing a stab-proof suit.

Unless Tim Seeley's writing him, of course. I will say, we need more of Dick as a detective or Dick as a chessmaster. The narrative before Didio was "Dick Grayson is the best, and Batman only paid for it with Dick's humanity." (Note there. Bruce chose to have Dick pay that price, not Dick himself. Yeah, most portrayals of Dick Grayson from the 80s onward are pretty unflattering to Bruce. You can credit the Titans for him being able to act like a normal supergenius detective/engineer/tactician.) We should see the chessmaster bit soon enough. Also, a reunion between the Wilson kids and the rest of the Titans?

@@geronuis2295 Bingo. His death is fuelling something good, something big and meaningful. In the grand scheme of DC it's tiny, not the fate of the world. But in Bat-family scales, this is huge, an entire city is better off and being helped in ways simple masked vigilantism can't. Alfred's death means so much more now.

@@geronuis2295 An important point, his death is currently meaningful. Like, I felt one of the missed opportunities of Death of Superman was to have someone comment along the way to Zero Hour that it was like some cosmic entity was deliberately creating a world where the good guys always lost. But why? Actually, now that I think about it, we now literally have the Gentry to be that cosmic entity. Hey, can you guess which aspects of comics Morrison dislikes that each of the Gentry represents?

I really enjoy this run! Wally and Nightwing are bffs that made me smile so hard 7:09 Why she gotta thicc 10:27 Yoo Nightwing and flash thicc why the camera angle gonna be like this lol 8:33 And then when Bruce Wayne really said "never talk to me or my son ever again" lolol Bruce was really gonna be like I don't need money to beat your ass cause I'm broke af lol

I love how the art and coloring changes whenever there's a flashback to reflect older comics, using halftones, simpler layouts, and a smaller color palette. Those scenes of Batman and Alfred do an especially good job of this - love it! I'd pick this run up for the art alone, even if I wasn't already a big Nightwing fan.

I love this channel. I just want to thank you on behalf of people who struggle with dyslexia and find it hard to read comics but are a huge fan of them thank you very much for the break down you make it easier for us to keep up with our favorite characters

@@jxlennn Well, they were at one point. Back in the 70s, it was teased, near the very end of Haney's run. He also teased Dick with the Joker's Daughter. Of course, then came Marv Wolfman and, for all the problems with Terry Long, fans generally understand Dick and Donna are better as just friends.

@@comicstorian To be fair, Heartless (who I'm still saying is probably a woman) is more interesting than Blockbuster. Blockbuster is just Chuck Dixon/Devin Grayson rehash, but now completely missing the point that said Devin Grayson story was basically about breaking Dick.

I loved this story with Wally west flash teaming up with nightwing they were always my 2 favorite sidekicks growing up and now teaming up as superheroes in there own rights is awesome

Depends. I currently consider Avery Ho my favorite flash costume because lightning is naturally going to be high-frequency colors like blue and violet, along with white, more than ones like, well, anything lower than blue. Typically, red, orange, yellow, green, and cyan lightning will only occur because of impurities in the air.

They did, and it still doesn't fit into continuity in any aesthetically pleasing way. The latest issue of Nightwing even brings up the original sin, with a flashback where Dick is obviously just a kid and Babs is her adult height and has boobs.

Because they did. It was called Titans. You may have heard of it? More seriously, this is a good idea, but I want more big bads. A little diversity, like Blockbuster here, Deathstroke there (though Deathstroke should NEVER be the big bad, just working for the real big bad), the Joker sometimes, maybe some Brother Blood... The problem is, both Taylor's run and Dixon's before it are a little light in the villain department.

I wonder if DC remembers he plays guitar, and Roy's a drummer. Just saying, the multiverse is a song, right? And since paintings and comic books are relevant, there's Kyle Rayner. Hey, Jericho (who, along with Rose, really *should* be relevant to this Crisis) does both.

@@jonbrewer297 They highlight Grayson greatly on that show but that’s definitely NOT a Grayson solo show. He means a true, genuine, Marketed and all things Nightwing solo TV series bruh.. No fools having to save him fifty times in a single night, nerfs to make others look good, broken/Dislocated body part gags, No constant goofy deaths of his, No making him the butt of all the jokes… Purely him, his city and his villains cuz they have enough by now.

@@Artryom I don't think it's nerfs. The big complaint about Titans is that they have no problem outright murdering bystanders. I'll be the first to say Fanon!Dick needs to die (and is mostly a creation of the Didio era anyway), but you have to admit, the premise of Titans is basically "What if Hollywood did a movie about Robin?" Actually, now that I think about it, Teen Titans GO! and Titans share the "What if we had a Titans show where Dick Grayson was raised by the Goddamn Batman?" premise.

TBH, I never liked them as a couple. The retcons are bizarre and have literally never worked in any continuity, though it is fun to troll Chuck Dixon with the fact that Dick was still a minor when he was Barbara's Congressional page when he gets homophobic. To explain, before Zero Hour, Dick and Barbara could not have even been in high school together at the same time. Barbara literally runs for Congress and wins in the 70s, and age remains canon during her time on the Suicide Squad. When we get to post-Zero Hour, they barely knew each other before he was shot by the Joker. Blame Superboy-Prime. Maybe he ships them. I mean, he does hate the Titans, feels they're ruining everything. Then again, one of the ones he kills to death is Pantha, so who knows? Regardless, after Infinite Crisis, they still don't work together, but now the retcons are eating away at Dick's characterization as well as continuity, as we have that right after he returns from Tamaran following Crisis on Infinite Earths, Dick, rather than going off to find Raven, visits Barbara in the hospital after she was shot and they sleep together, while he's engaged to Kory and she's totally not married to Prince Karras who is kind of a cuck? (Note that by "cuck" I mean he literally has no problems with his wife having a courtesan of her own; Dick objects more to *being* a courtesan more than Karras objects to his wife having one, and he doesn't even mind her being, oh, fifty light-years away from him and on the same planet as said courtesan.) Fast forward to the New 52, and you'd think things would work here. The New 52 definitely eats at their characterization: Barbara is now more traumatized by the Joker's assault than she ever was before. (Traditionally, everyone else tried to empathize with her, ultimately kinda made it about themselves?, and she called them on that.) And volumes have been written about Dick having only one emotion, happiness. Which could explain a LOT: Only someone who completely lacks empathy would think "Come with me to Chicago. Forget your boyfriend." is a natural response to knowing said boyfriend is comatose. Narcissism is the only way to describe nearly wrecking a wedding by making it all about yourself and the wedding planner's relationship. Characterization suffers in other ways (I mean, Jason is a rapist in the early issues of RHATO ffs.) so I can't help but think it's just Didio, but still... Then Tim Seeley takes over and Dick becomes a moron who will actually be more intelligent as Ric. Which brings us to here. Taylor is trying, but he can't seem to bring himself to show Dick frightened, sad, or angry, even after his building was blown up. So, yeah, arguably worse than Devin Grayson.

The flash crossover really pulled me out of the story because Bruno Redondo wasn’t the artist on it and was replaced by a worse artist it pulls me out of the investment that I had but luckily the last part he returned

I do quite a bit too. All have a place though and are great. Hopefully they allow Damian and Tim to grow. It's ironic that Damian's best friend grows years in a few issues while he's in the same cycle as a kid stuck in his ways.
