Nightshift Cancelled! | Seeding 2023 Western Australia
Фильм және анимация
We had to cancel nightshift! We are having a lot of issues getting through the lodged wheat stubble.
Decisions will have to be made on what we do moving forward.
Oh and JH owns a Carton of Beer!!!

Love the videos man, I’m a farmhand of 8 years an have experienced all of this before so it’s great to see solutions to problems like this.

@@theofficialslig6144 I think most of them are mate, I've had the same issues with Gason seeders as well. Nature of the beast with that length stubble I suppose.
That’s why we love our disc seeder

Yer I think I will be looking into one when it comes time for this one to be changed out
Seen a few people have luck with running 1 1/2" or 2" rural poly down the front of the points, looks pretty agricultural but does seem to help the trash flow
No! The tyre’s still leaning on the workshop wall..😮

😂 haha no still hasn’t made it in! But it did go in to town today to get repaired!!!
Hello there JH, thankyou for explaining the reason why you don't just burn the whole paddock. My mind went straight to just "burn the whole thing", a very good reason why not, loving your videos btw! cheers from NE Victoria! Dave
not so easy this farming, wishing you guys all the best
Yep, we had a guy at Wanneroo volunteers who always liked to use the drip torch. The crew kept an eye on him.
I enjoy your videos great entertainment for me an ex farmer of 55 years now 75 keep up the good work hope you have a good season cheers from Bundaberg
Good work JH, it looked like it was one of those days for you and the boys but you still manage to put on a smile and have a laugh with George. Don't forget the Tarp on the next refill mate.. 😂😂
Holy shitballs! That is the coolest sprayer I've ever seen! The way it folds up under the cab! Yeah boy.

It is awesome, and it means that Henry isn't under the boom filling like a lot of the other sprayers!
Send George to Prenti Downs to be chased by bulls. That'll be a funny video.

Just don’t let your finger get caught loading stock and having to fly into Wiluna for attention!😮
Great video JH
LOL JH, it happens for the best of us, but great it was you and not one of the boys... beers all round!
Yup the things happen when silly season is in full swing. Not done it on a grouper but have done it a couple times loading a semi.
I thought the barley filled up too quick in the tank, then realised and went oops! 😂😂

I've seen what a stubble cruncher does and it could be something for you to look into.

They do a great job, however this isn't regular issue for us with getting through wheat stubble so I don't think the need is there quite yet.
thanks for the expleation on burning we see it up here in the midwest some cockeys burn others dont but the wind is the key lol i telll yank peps to goggle the first image for Greenough to see how it is here lol
CARTON! 😂

Can’t believe you filmed your whoops 😂😂😂😂😂, guess we can say this is an honest KZread channel. Now the the rest of the crew have something against you. If you weren’t distracted setting up the camera you would have been fine😂. Would a prickle chain help with getting through the stubble.
guess you might have preferred to be alongside the bar in the pub at this stage?? Hope it all works out for you, mate.
Back in the 80’s we used to do stubble burns. Think of the extra potash that you don’t have to buy. And of course not stubble blockages. “No Till Direct Seeding is fine, but if you had to do the odd stubble burn once in a blue moon isn’t the end of the planet.

Burning definitely has its advantages, but leaving the stubble definitely out ways burning for us.

@@tomsbrookfarm Maybe a little of each? Burn every 3rd or 4th year perhaps? Otherwise you just buying potash.
Great video. Are there heavy harrows available for stubble breakdown in Aus.?
Dewey winter nights and sea breezes, not good!! 👎🤬💩🤷♂️😎
You need to buy yourself a stubble rake
Why do t you burn the whole paddock like we used
When’s the rain coming? Was fairly warm Saturday & Sunday for the time of year..

We would love some!! We are still seeding into moisture now so that's a plus. But some rain would be nice!
I see the 7700 air cart and the 9rt but what tool bar do y’all use
@tomsbrookfarm
Жыл бұрын
Its a 3320
Every stubble block when you loop around do you shut off the air cart so you’re not double sowing? Cheers
@tomsbrookfarm
9 ай бұрын
Yer we do, we also have section control so it shuts on and off anyway so there isn’t any double sowing happening
Hey JH just wondering if you sow the same direction each year? We don’t have anywhere near the problems anymore Even runs north and west odd south and east
@tomsbrookfarm
Жыл бұрын
We do try to do that, someone suggested it to us back when we had the seed hawk as we also had major issues with stubble with that machine. It works to an extent but when the stubble is leaning over like it is now there isn't much we can do.
