    Not only does it look amazing, but showing all the trials and tribulations you two went through to get to such a beautiful looking bus is just more encouragement, and more education that you are sharing with the schoolie community. I always thought the paint stage would be the hardest for myself as well, but watching your video and seeing what ya'll went through makes me feel better about some day attempting a paint job myself. Great video you two!

    Your attention to detail, level of skill, and abilities are actually astonishing to me! I keep watching video after video and keep being so impressed with how you're not taking any shortcuts on anyway, at all, anyplace! You're certainly building the way I know to do something but don't have the patience for! Take care of each other and enjoy the adventure!

    Considering all of the hiccups you had, it turned out great ! If you plan on getting rid of some of that orange peel I highly recommend wet sanding first. Helps level out the paint faster than just the buffer

  • @AdamandAtlas

    Totally, we’re just worried about having so many rivets, wet sanding around them will be a pain and sanding through the blue would be a risk on the rivets

    When you paint something big like a bus you might want to paint th front and rear one day an then one side at a time, that way you're not rushed and can get it perfect, I'm an old time painter and I learned patients is best, also the secret to being really good at it is to know how to fix your mistakes !! It looks pretty good in the video !!

  • @AdamandAtlas

    We didn’t feel too rushed per say, we just are totally new to this and spent a lot of time trying to get the settings right on the spray gun. Once we got them dialled it in was smooth sailing! The hiccups were mostly from the dew and the tape, we are pleased with our quality of a paint job as first timers!

    Yea, everybody thinks painting is easy until they try it. There is a million things that can go wrong and you have to be almost perfect for it to go right. Props to y'all though. That was a ton of work. Outside in the elements. No booth. No temperature control. But you got it done! And to be honest, nobody cares about orange peel on bus, except for us painters lol

    Yay!! It looks AWESOME!! I know it was tough to get to this point, but I'm seriously impressed with how patient you guys are. I wish you could see our bus up close because our paint job is far from ideal (unsanded, not primed, just 30 cans of spray paint). We will definitely earmark your videos in case we ever decide to fix it... You guys should be so proud. It looks awesome, and we both really love the colors you picked. Also, that new intro is 🔥🔥🔥

    Next time paint all the black area's 1st without taping, then tape off the black areas and paint your main color. This way you're only taping once, and you're only taping small areas.

    What about a matt finish?

  • @AdamandAtlas

    @AdamandAtlas

    5 ай бұрын

    A matt finish could have looked nice, but there are a few drawbacks that make it undesirable for me. It's harder to clean, you can't protect it with wax, and you can't polish it. And it's also very difficult to blend in paint repairs.

  • @1965ace

    @1965ace

    5 ай бұрын

    Definitely a flat paint is the extreme of that but matt clear coat is a lot more forgiving and still maintains that monolithic look. I'll do some testing before committing to a full paint job on my bus. Thanks for the thoughts! @@AdamandAtlas
