I actually love his costume so much, they way they decided to give him white hair instead of him being bald and/or a giant orb lookin helmet to try and emulate the original cartoon. really shows the costumer knew what they were doing. They didn’t just try to recreate the cartoon, they took elements of it and made it really come to life!

@@MLongPhotography then again, the character of Jack can himself be a bit over the top at times (as is Elfman’s vocal style). I would go out of my way to see this Jack do a full live rendition of The Nightmare Before Christmas! He's got the limb movements down to a tee!
Holy shit. Great makeup, great costume, great -movement-, great interpretation with the singing. I can't really imagine a way this could be improved upon the capture the feel and tone of the original, and I'm saying that as a fan. Also, wow, I've never seen a live action person move as if stop-motion. So spindly!
That “there are few who deny at what I do I am the BEST” he went full Christopher Walken.
I love his movement. he perfectly captures the stop-motion look and feel.
I _adore_ his portrayal of Jack! They got the perfect actor. He has the perfect voice look and legs. 💕
As he screamed “I, JACK! THE PUMPKIN KING!” I swear I felt the chills
no joke this is really well done! the makeup and costumes are just a brilliant real life version of what’s in the movie. and the actor! i don’t think you can find a better person to play jack! his physicality in the role for the character so well!
He obviously wasn't committed, he didn't take off his head to quote Shakespearean quotations. I am just joking, this was BEAUTIFUL and I don't see why everyone is complaining, he moves like jack, he sings beautifully and it was just wonderful. This was a different take on the song, but it was still amazing. You can complain all you want but I don't see you guys making something better than this.

Considering how hard it is to portray Jack I'd say this guy did pretty well. Not as well as someone could do it but I didn't think I was terrible. Hell, I'd say I even liked it.
Where did they find a guy that tall, that skinny, and can sing and act that well? It must be like finding a unicorn in the wild.

Props to the pianist for following this actor like a lost puppy. 😍😍
I'm 50/50 on this. I don't really like the singing. I can't honestly say it's bad or anything, I just liked the movie version better. Deeper voiced and more mournful. But this guy can't really help the difference in tones, and I'd noticed with stage plays they like to add some drama and flair to the music. I can't fault them on that, but I still didn't really like the song. The dancing though, that was impressive! I mean Jack's all long-limbed and as an animated character those features are even more exaggerated, but this actor was able to give the impression several times of both the distinctively long limbs and the various ranges of motion Jack often goes into. It was fascinating to watch, and tons of kudos to the actor for not only pulling it off but making it look so effortless to boot!

When doing theatre, actors have to exaggerate in a sense their features, expressions and movments so that even the people in the back of the room can understand the intentions of characters
Really REALLY enjoyed this! He moves and sounds just like Jack! Whyvis this not a Broadway show yet? WHYYYYY

Wouldn't that be awesome? :)
I have to admit that I wasn't happy to see there was a live version on KZread but after watching this I am blown away by the performances. jack's physical movements are perfect!
I'm satisfied. He puts out the personality Jack would have when singing. :D
I don't understand the complaints, this is so amazing
My one dream is to see my Highschool put on This production... sadly next year is my last year and the director would probably deny it because it would "scare the children"
The actor is great
There NEEDS to a Nightmare Before Christmas Broadway musical!
This guy's physicality is fantastic :D
Good God, this is incredible. The amount of muscle control the actor has is mind-blowing, especially while singing. To everyone criticizing him for--what, exactly? Being--breathless? Frankly, I can't tell what you're talking about. Watch live musical theatre. Try to DO live musical theatre. This man is ridiculously talented, and obviously put a lot of thought and effort into his staging. I suggest that anyone calling this performance weak try to step up onto their kitchen table in one fluid motion and see how they are at it.
As a fan who has seen Nightmare Before Christmas a million times, this was fkng amazing!!!!!!! 🕸🕷
This is phenomenal! I love that you can see the influence from the movie version of Jack in his movements and interpretation of the song, but the performance is still so original. Congrats to the costume and make up departments as well as the set designer. Everything looks great! This show is awesome ☠❤
