Unfortunately the poor, as always, have no real political power. They’re considered by many to be disposable who choose to be poor because they’re lazy or stupid. Same goes for the homeless. While we as a nation could choose to make their life’s better but they don’t fit well in a capitalist economic model. You can’t pull yourself up with your bootstraps if you don’t have access to them. They do fulfill a purpose by doing jobs that others don’t want to do but we don’t value them as being productive in our society. It’s not going to change without a change in our nations mindset and if anything our nation is moving towards one is more themselves than the overall society.

Having lived in both California and Oklahoma, I've experienced both tornado's and earthquakes and I will take an earthquake over a tornado every time.

The IDF has been using AI software that makes allowances for civilian casualties based on the "ranking" of the Hamas operative. The higher the rank the more civilian casualties that are considered allowable. The Protestors who are protesting the war should go to GAZA and protest in Gaza against Hamas and demand for Hamas to release the hostages. The pandemic lasted 2 years & inflation continued to rise bc sellers were making up for lost profits & unwilling to lower prices to pre-pandemic levels even after losses were recovered. By then, people all over the world were experiencing the economic pain of inflation. Trump had avoided it all by losing the election & a disgruntled public that didn't stop to think it through, like you, turned to blaming President Biden, who took immediate steps to curb inflation, resulting in it not affecting the U.S. as badly as in other countries. The only reason for inflation now is bc sellers, like grocers, have become accustomed to profits from higher prices & refuse to lower them. The U.S. has a capitalist, not communist, economic system. Grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, retail stores, utilities are all privately, not government owned & they set their own prices. When sellers & employers get greedy for profit & employees don't get paid wages/salaries that increase accordingly to keep up with increased costs of living, that's when workers need unions & state governments need to step up & take responsibility for its share of residents' economic & social welfare instead of their legislators spending their time devising ways to suppress their civic & constitutional rights like voting & health care as many states are doing. When states neglect those duties, people get frustrated & turn to blaming the federal government, as you are. Unemployment is at its lowest level since the 1960s & the federal government has programs to assist people who "can't afford to feed [their] family. If you qualify bc your employer doesn't pay a living wage, negotiate with your employer, change jobs or apply for a government assistance program. Don't be so foolish as to credit Trump for your better economic situation when he happened to be president. I assure you, he has no interest in your economic situation, only his own, all he wants is your vote to help him use the presidency to continue to dodge the law that wants to hold him accountable for his illegal conduct.

I'm curious , What is more important to the politicians and the press. The destruction caused by this severe weather and the 30 plus million people who are now in danger, the increasing crime rate and homelessness or Trump Trial drama . Because it seems that they seem more interested in covering everything else and the aftermath that is left , instead focusing on helping those in need.

Hamas started this whole thing october 7. So 😔 sad and truly tragic. Prayers for all the victims. 😢😢😢😢

...hmm, I read about this earlier. Mopw think for a moment, a person who fudges the value of his properties to reduce the taxes he pays and then inflates them to use as collateral for obtaining loans. He also has numerous bankruptcies to his record as well. Not very comforting for the financial health of this nation.
