    Best scope out there in my opinion. I must admit I have an addiction to buying Nightforce scopes. I have purchased 4 of the 2.5-20s and 2 of the 4-32s. I like that if I buy one used I can just send it back to Nightforce and they will test the hell out of it no questions asked and send it back to me like brand new. Customer service is top notch and I know when I dial the turret the adjustments are going to be true.

    Already have a 2.5 x 20 NX8, now have a 4 x 32 on order. Great value in the NX8. I originally wanted an ATACR but didn’t see enough compromise not to order another NX8. Thanks for the review, I really enjoy your channel. Cheers 🍻

    These are cool little scopes. I've sold a number of them to people who want to use it just as you are talking about in the video - a combination of hunting an long range target shooting in one good quality optic. Another cool thing is Nightforce is locally made just a few hours up the highway from me. Great vid as always, thanks.

    I have this exact scope and it's one of my favourites. I'm actually looking to get another as soon as funds permit. Something you didn't mention with the recticle is that you'll notice the scale has 2 sets of numbers. One set is correct at 16x and the other is correct at 32x.

    I have an NX8 4-32 MOA FFP and LOVE IT. Very clear glass even at max power and the paralax (focus) adjustment works perfectly at all ranges. I have two other tactical scopes by other companies and they are no where near the quality of the NX8.

    2nd FP is a winner. If needed to find range get the power magnification that is 1:1 and do the math....or like you said, use a range finder. In the Military we also (used to , don't know about now) used the Reticle to determine the size of a target. Math is good.😁

    This is the scope I'm keen on. Waiting for the custom rifle to appear then I'll be in to have a look. However I'm on the fence between sfp and ffp. I have only shot sfp but I'm told ffp is better. I'm not sure about such a fine ret for stalking.

    I personally prefer SFP reticles since they don't disappear on the lower 1/3 to 1/2 magnification settings making the FFP reticles virtually unusable in real world hunting situations. I'll buy the FFP scopes only for controlled shooting situations such as long distance prone or bench rest shooting where the magnification is cranked up.

  • @fisherus
    @fisherus2 жыл бұрын

    I'm having a difficult time getting interested into going back to SFP scopes after eliminating them from all of my centerfire rifles. I started hunting with low power FFP scopes to avoid the small crosshair problem in the beginning of my hunting with them and although I have seen you have excellent results using them I am very uncomfortable with shooting SFP at long range targets. Was this something that you experienced or not?

  • @markandsamafterwork

    @markandsamafterwork

    2 жыл бұрын

    Nope, always preferred SFP, for the most part, no problems using FFP just nothing extra for me as explained and there is a little negative, but as always really all about what suits you, and of course, just because the market says something is right, just ain't always the case, lol, Cheers

  • @commonsense5709

    @commonsense5709

    No issues here using SFP reticle scopes when dialing out to long distances. I find most FFP reticles tend to disappear and become unusable on their lower starting 1/3 to 1/2 magnification range for any practical shooting situations.

    I've had good success with Hornady ELD-M in my Bergara 6.5 Creedmoor. Boringly sub MOA. My buddy has good luck with Federal GMM in his Savage 308. Federal GMM seems to shoot well out of everything up to and including a toilet paper tube. Berger ammo is supposed to be good stuff as well.

    Seems like they should make the crosshair as a second focal plane, but make the marks and numbers as first focal plane. I'm not sure how that would work with the turrets, so maybe that's the reason such a thing doesn't exist, but I'd love to see someone try.

    Do you think at some time that scope manufacturers will offer a line of scopes with massive elevation adjustment as required for ELR shooters like yourself , eliminating the need for for prisms and mounts like you use,or is in their eyes at this time the market too small.at this time?.
