Unfortunately, only on paper. As a Sardinia native I can tell you that only politics holds Sardinia and Italy together, trust me. Language and culture are not the same.

P.s. the song is only in Sardinian language. It is an hymn written in 1994 for a battalion of the Italian army, "brigata Sassari" nown as "is Dimonios"( the demons in northern Sardinian language). Even tho it is in Sardinian the text talks about loyalty and sacrifice for the Italian state. Some people consider it more an Italian song and a simbol of the Italian colonialist attitude towards Sardinia.

@@amisteryfella It depends, my grandma from Cagliari once spoke in Sardinian to a Spanish lady and they understood each other. It works only with the Campidanese variant tho.

Vedo parecchia confusione nei commenti, allora partiamo dal fatto che il dialetto Sardo è d'origine latina quindi si, culturalmente parlando può essere catalogato come un dialetto italofona ( sto semplificando). Dire che i Sardegna non ha alcun collegamento con lo Stivale è culturalmente e geneticamente sbagliato obiettivamente parlando. Che la Sardegna sia stata sfruttata come una "colonia " purtroppo è vero su alcuni punti di vista ma come ogni zona dell'Italia, anche al Nord, dove c'è sta strana leggenda metropolitana dove il nord è felice e spensierato che non ha minimamente sofferto, i Veneti e soppratutto i Friulani hanno patito la stessa sorte, Quest'ultimi forse ancora di più (soppratutto gli abitanti del Venezia-Giulia ), l'Unità d'Italia in generale è stata pianificata male, per colpa dei monarchi, Camillo Benso aveva altri progetti, ma quello è un'altro discorso. Quindi amici e soppratutto compatrioti Sardi non fate le vittime, non siete assolutamente l'ultima ruota del carro, non siete l'unica regione d'Italia che ha qualche conto in sospeso con la famiglia Savoia , detto questo Per un mondo più pulito Torna in vita zio Benito

Aggiungerò una cosa che si dice poco: lo stesso Piemonte, incolpato di tutto ciò che han fatto i Savoia, ha patito eccome. Prima ha perso il suo ruolo storico di capitale d'uno Stato eterogeneo e la tranquillità economica che ne veniva (con la svendita di Savoia e Nizza alla Francia) e nel 1864 della capitale (Torino), nuovamente con tutte le implicazioni socio-economiche del caso. Ma soprattutto il Piemonte fu escluso per tutto l'Ottocento dall'asse micidiale tra industriali lombardi e latifondisti meridionali che dominò la vita economica del monopolismo italiano. Conseguenza fu la massiccia emigrazione di piemontesi verso gli USA e soprattutto l'Argentina

C'è addirittura una località rinominata "Piemonte d'Argentina". Pensa che addirittura i miei bisnonni si conobbero là, entrambi di famiglie piemontesi costrette a emigrare
