@TreeMarieSoapworks can you explain if there is a reason to add fragrance to liquid oils rather than adding it after lye is mixed in? Just curious. Would it make any difference to possible acceleration?
These are my favorite videos to watch. Other soapers do not show the whole process and that is my favorite part.

This is beautiful. I’ve been wanting to try this kind of pour for a while, maybe that will be my next project!! When it comes to color, I honestly just kind of wing it. I mix colors ahead of time (sometimes FAR in advance) and mostly just throw micas together and hope it works out. I don’t measure at all, which could really bite me in the butt someday, but it’s worked so far. I also don’t sell, so that’s not a factor. Soaping is just fun and I think for me I prefer to just go with the flow. :)

So many gorgeous designs but I specially love this one. I love the shape and size of these bars as well. I'm wondering how you decide which soap recipe to use for each project. (and thank you for sharing the recipes!)
@TreeMarieSoapworks
4 жыл бұрын
I usually get stuck on a particular recipe. I am loving the one I am using now. That said, I use different recipes for swirls that layers. For swirls I use a ratio of 43:57, saturated to unsaturated fats. Look in the upper right corner of your soapcalc printout. For layers, I use a little more saturated fats, like a 50:50 ratio. If I am making layer soap, I like using (white) Kaolin clay too, because I like what it does to soap. It makes a whiter bar and helps make a great lather after a good cure time. 💕

So awesome. What do you do with scraps Marie? I wonder if you could make some sort of press mould. Throw those colourful bits in and squeeze them into a couple more bars.. like a clay extruder in terms of the lever. Waste not want not.
Your works are fabulous. Just a question: can AVOCADO oil be replaced with some other? Which one would you suggest?
Hi, soaps are amazing! I wonder if the white liquid you put in is white mica, titanium dioxide, or something else? I really like that you are so meticulous and detailed. Best regards!
So beautiful !!!! Why you add lactate ?
Another beautiful soap and great video! In your color video, can you address adding TD to colored soap batter to get a lighter shade. Whenever I try it it just looks muddy, and I am wondering if there is a trick or ratio I should be using. Thanks!

@@TreeMarieSoapworks Btw, can you share the difference between working with activated bamboo charcoal and activated coconut charcoal? And is there a difference of adding the FO before adding lye and after adding lye? I'm under the impression that adding FO before lye somewhat affecting the strength of the FO when the soap's finished curing. But I'm still a newbie so I don't know if it's true.
