Exploring Detroit's neighborhoods: where 'house hunting' means checking if the houses are actually still there

I salute the residents still living in houses which are surrounded by abandoned houses

Salute for what? If they could afford to leave they would have left. Its a situation they are forced to live in.

@@blackcherry6877as someone who was born and raised in detroit, contrary to popular belief, a lot of longtime residents choose to stay bc they want to help better their community and neighborhoods. videos like these are very common showing the bad but every year the city is drastically changing for the better

@@srdjagunjicplenty of these blocks are just streets away from thriving communities or revitalized neighborhoods. every year the city is improving and many of these residents don’t want to leave their longtime communities, even if they had the funds, which many do. there are plenty of CHEAP CHEAP suburban housing that are safer and far less populated right outside detroit many could move to if they wanted
Looks like Delray . Got robbed last time I was there dropping my buddy off from a night of drinking. I was slipping .. 😂.

They are not abandoned, unless you mean abandoned by those they were told to vote for.....Democrats. Maybe there should be a strong Republican presence here by the natives.......no offense but it's the best chance they have to take their city into their own hands.

@@karensimmons1572Detroit failed because the city was built on only one single industry and when that one industry failed there was all of sudden no more jobs and everyone the had the money to leave, left. The city been declining since 1950 but the only thing you Trump supporters like to do is balm the other side which gets us no where. But we can play the same game we can easily just say it was the republicans that set the city to its downfall in the first place. You know before the democrats got into power. Since the city was doomed from the start.
Notice, we have solved the zombies and vampire problems in the city of Detroit!

Did you put them in garbage bags?😅
One thing you say consistently is at least the mayor kept a promise of better lighting in the streets- this video proves it, each light is so bright at first it looks like a full moon as you approach
What happens if jobs in car and other production industries don't make enough money (return on invest) anymore to keep them, but export them to states like China, and to have a military industrial complex instead to safeguard the two flows, US-Dollars out, products in: In the end war seems likely 'to get our money back' - but the other side had fully earned it. Thats why they may have or may become safeguardes too. (In the end both build safeguarders more than individual or common wealth. But thats t a good path to follow for the few.)
My personal opinion, I grew up around 5 and telegraph (better area than these) and I have been through these neighborhoods to go see friends, etc. They are not physically scary to be in if you mind your own business. But the looks of the environment will definitely make people scared. Instilling fear in everyone about Detroit is not going to get people to move back, its keeping them out. I havent found anywhere you can get a completely redone house for $50k in a city. Even just 10 miles outside of city limits that same house is $150k. Lots of gems here, people just need to move back and establish the community again. Positive vibes right? If prices are still like this once I get some funding im looking into moving back down that way.
I have three sisters staying in Detroit I love it there

Why aren't these houses full of squatters? Looks like no one cares, seems like they would be full of them
