Well this video got recommended to me two years late... or maybe just at the right time. I'm doing my master's degree this year and it's my first time living abroad, let alone by myself. Though adulting is difficult, I've found that there's something extremely peaceful and grounding about having a whole room to myself this (I'm staying in student housing with a communal kitchen). It's just... liberating, having only myself to take care of and cater to for the first time in my life, and this video encapsulates that, especially the cooking while starving after coming back from a long day part XD thank you for this~

@@macootha as an asian, i agree w the previous commenter. i believe a lot of it comes from a common theme in a lot of asian countries of making sure to put one's best self when having guests (or in her case a yt video featuring herself in her own house) --i.e. making sure the house is neat, making sure the guests are comfortable, or not trying to do anything that would seem silly to ppl watching etc. It causes us to be a bit more conscious of how we present ourselves to other people(and to perhaps apologize a bit more for things different people wouldnt). That mindset when left unchecked can turn toxic obviously, but from what i know of the japanese, they do tend to apologize for certain things more than other people do. It's a cultural thing definitely. How much of her apologizing is a cultural thing though, i cannot say haha Either way, i do believe that her taking time to cook a proper meal, clean herself properly, have a full skincare regimen, bla bla bla and overall give herself the time and space to unwind and relax and recharge, no matter how basic those actions may be, i think that caring for ones self, consiously & properly especially, should still be considered a form of self respect and is rightfully commended by OP here. (Also one last thing before u go: how we treat ourselves isnt always going to be perfectly consistent. a lot of us are capable of treating ourselves with respect in certain areas, and in the other areas, mmm not so much. Lol. Funny isn't it?)

There is so much to appreciate about this video. I greatly admire the dedication and commitment to caring for herself. One can tell much from watching someone conduct the daily routine of their lives. I am surprised that she uses a metal whisk in her rice cooker bowl, I only use my hands so as not to scar and wear the bowl prematurely. My rice cooker has lasted 23 years using this technique but you could also use a whisk made from silicone. I used the automatic caption translator that is embedded in KZread and that seemed to work well. Thank you Namichan for sharing your video with us.

You're doing a great job caring for yourself and aren't we all a little bit strange in some mannerisms? Don't belittle yourself cause if this

I don’t know what really people do if they don’t cook. You watch TV for an hour and then what? You talk for an hour then what? Food is the best thing to have whether you’re wealthy, poor or whatever, I cook twice at least a week, and when I am done with school, I’ll probably cook 4/5 times.
