Jeff was the only Rock Star in that group. Tall, looked and dressed the part. Awesome guitar riff on (You Can Still) Rock In America at 56:01 . I am sorry Jeff you ended up in the hospital. I hope you healed up and you are better than ever.

Ronnie was oh yeah Sacramento you know Jeff I remember jeff watson band thay did a song zap FM played it was called climbing on I still play it on guitar but sunrise music was Jeff watson excuse for us to buy strings n picks so he'd play a song he was going for the gusto he wanted to make it well he did

Was fortunate, I guess,-sorry 2 have missed Rhoades-2 c him few wks after joining Ozzy @ my 2nd concert Diary tour @ 10 yrs old n '82, then saw him about 10 mos later w/ NR opening 4 Kiss Creatures tour! Btw, if don't know, Ozzy "Speak Of The Devil" (Sabbath songs live) same band as Diary tour w/ Gillis & a vid of w/ same title of Diary tour. Actually prefer it 2 Sabbath myself-seems faster & more raw, & used it between bands 2 keep up chops-great album 4 practice! Seen Ozzy w/ Gus???, Wylde, & Lee too, & HARD 2 say, but think Gillis my fave?!

Seriously, anyone who can step right into Randy Rhodes shoes on tour and completely crush it.. not an easy task at all as Randy's technique is very different and extremely nuanced. Jeff Watson adds a ton of value to the over all sound and look of the band and isn't a bad player himself. Poor guy probably gets sick of all the focus on Brad :)

This is the most fun I can remember seeing Jeff Watson having. He seemed to get annoyed later on as Brad was getting all the closeups and credits. Pity, it was a GREAT lineup this way. Fitz was from a town about 15 miles south of me in Salisbury MD.

Kind of understandable since Jeff actually was the guitar hero in his hometown (Sac), then he gets stuck playing second fiddle to Brad. Jeff still kicks ass and adds a ton of value to the band.

@@jonasirw1 I totally agree how great of a player and asset to the band he was. I'm a fan, thus why my post was happy for him having fun. Brad was just a better show off, which was a pity and also why Night Ranger was more of a novelty band to the record labels. I met Joel Hoekstra a few months after he joined the band. He said the toughest part of being in Night Ranger was playing Jeff's licks. Not sounding like him, because the true fans wouldn't accept that. He had to learn to play like Jeff Watson. As a guitarist. I really respect Jeff's unique style. Brad was much easier to cooy.

Brad Gillis could of stayed with Ozzy? At least one co written album. Then Jake. His interpretation of Randy was close, especially in timing - which to me is first and foremost, secondary to actual notes- timing carries the gist, the melody. And also being a keyboard backed band. Ozzy had an innate ability to pull tunes from all the guitar players he worked with, probably due to experience with Tommy. I wonder what might of happened. It would be interesting, tho ' Night Ranger is/was a good sustained paycheck. Watson would of easily carried Night Ranger as one guitar, keyboard (keyboard can carry a lot), bass, drums and front person.
